View CommentsNew Site, New Stuff! Donations?!!

    December 22nd, 2011 by

Hey guys, so we gave a brief update the other day on the new site.  I would just like to take a bit of time and explain some new features to you guys.

First up, the thing that some of you probably noticed right away was the ‘Donation Box’.  I’m sure a lot of the older members will remember a time where myself and John said we would never do donation campaigns or add a donation button/box.  We could pay for the site fine, and for that matter we still can.  So no one get worried and think that FUS is in any danger of shutting down.  However FUS has grown a lot since taking over.  Between server costs and paying our Sea3on staff, and other extra costs we put up with FUS does run us a fair coin every month.  Over 100USD simply put.  We also have lots of plans to expand, and start paying some other staff of ours. However our pocket books are already pulling a hurt on some months.

Regardless, FUS isn’t in any danger of shutting down.  We can still fund what we do perfectly fine. Just a little extra never hurt anyone, and it could help us expand some more and pay the staff off.

Now, onto some other new things.  FUS News.  As you have all seen there are 2 News Topics on FUS now. One is for Site news, like this, the other for Sonic News.  We currently have 2 reporters who are going to keep you up to date on all your Sonic news.  Shadow and Inhibitor, our reporters, will cover everything Sonic related and make FUS your one stop shop for all your Sonic news needs.  I will be starting up a email for them shortly where you can send any news tips to.

Whats not done?  Well, in the next few months, perhaps sooner, the forum will be re designed.  We are currently testing out different skin set ups and are getting ready to start customizing one to match the new site layout. Also as the Sea3on fans have noticed, the Sea3on page hasn’t been updated.  That is also in the works.  Including a matching colour scheme, better archive system, and all in all better functionality.  The current set up was just meant to be used for a few months, its well past its due date.

Hope you guys enjoy the new site layout and hope you will enjoy the future updates to come,

    Cheers,

    Paul
