Ian hasn't been off to a good start. He threw out the Naugus storyline for no reason, Julian Robotnik retconned, and upped the whackyness on Eggman. Also Shard is supposed to be among the terminated characters so don't expect to see him ever again. The good things the comic had was a rich world of characters good and bad to fill the Sega gaps, but 90% of those are all dust. Get ready for a Sonic Lost Worlds adaption, and then some Sonic Universe stories of him competing in the olympics with Mario.
I miss the good old days of Swat Bots and the robotisizer...when the villain wasn't a complete joke and the heroes had an actual stake to fight for.
I know where you are coming from; there is a good chance the comic will just spiral into a sucky Sega Sonic world moving from one game to another becoming a shameless medium solely for Sega's advertizing. However, I also can see it possibly getting better with the Freedom Fighters still present. In my opinion it could go either way, but it just depends on which way Ian Flynn wants it to go and how much Sega and Archie lean on him. I hate to say it, but with all of the new edicts coming down from Sega I'm keeping my hopes low, but I am trying to keep somewhat optimistic.
This is why I think that Sea3on is all the more important; at least there will be one place that the American Sonic still exists.
