Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Evil Dead II and Assassin's Creed II?

"My name is Ash Williams. Like my father before me, I am an Assassin. The year is 1476 and I am being dragged to my death. It wasn't always like this - I had a real life once. I had a family, together we moved to Florence. My father and his brother, Mario, studied the work of the one known as Altair, an Assassin before our times. It seems he had uncovered the workings of the ones known as the Deadites -the Army of Darkness. Stripped of their human flesh and absent of blood, they sought the fruit of Eden, and with it the other treasures that were once creations of the First Civilisation.

They were never meant for the world of the living.

The Deadites awoke once more in the heart of Rome. They took my father and my brothers, and then they came for me. They got into the Florence guard and they became corrupt, so I killed Uberto Alberti - the one who had conspired with the Deadites, and had betrayed my father. But that didn't stop them.

They came back.

Big time.

Now, armed with my trusty Boomstick and chainsaw-hand, I have found a new purpose - to unravel the wrongdoings of the Army of Darkness, and to cleanse Italy of the corruptions that it has brought."

Eh, to be fair if they tried to keep the EU in the new films, there'd most likely be an abundance of checks to make sure a plot point makes sense or certain characters are alive and where they're currently situated in the timeline.

Ditching the EU (or the majority of it) makes sure the mainstream audience can watch it and still have it make sense as a movie without having to read the years worth of books, comics and other stuff.

We're probably opposites then: I love Holy Grail (minus the last 15 minutes which was a sloppy ending), since every new scene offers something to truly laugh yourself silly over. I didn't get that with Life of Brian.

Maybe it was because everyone hyped it up, and acted in surprise when I said I hadn't seen it before. People would quote it when the subject was ever brought up, so lines like "He's not the messiah..." and the whole Jehovah spiel just didn't have the effect they were supposed to. Next to everything else felt forced and the jokes didn't feel like they were going anywhere.

I haven't seen any of the other Monty Python stuff, and I don't think I'll bother in future. The British comedy scene has much better shows and films to offer in my opinion.

Life of Brian 4/10

Might have rated it higher if I hadn't heard all of the jokes so many times before, but I felt there was no point in having to watch it when all the funny parts could be condensed into a 5-minute youTube video.

Man, I'll be honest that Star Wars as a franchise has never really grabbed me. I love the idea of all these epic fantasy-style duels with the sci-fi elements of inter-planetary travel and the lore! God, the lore from the EU sounds so intricate and interesting.

But that description of Luke sounded awesome. I really do like stories of heroes who have evolved into imperfect shadows of their former selves.
