@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Native American Sonic Art

I went to Emerald City Comic Con last weekend and there were so many talented wonderful artists there.

I ran into one in particular that had been re-imagining super heroes into Native American style art. This touched me because I have a Native American heritage.

A Sonic one would be perfect. It's the perfect representation of me as a person. He didn't have a Sonic one, and unfortunately his price for a custom piece was way out of what I can afford right now.

So I figured, why not? I have Native American blood in me. I'll make one myself.

This picture is far more personal to me than many others I've made in the past. It's nice to have something that I can show with pride and really represent me and my family heritage. I'll likely be replacing my avatars with this.

Operation Retroactive. Chapter 5 Revisited

24 February 2015 - 05:43 PM

Okay. let's be frank. My entry into Sea3on was less than stellar. Big noses, misshapen faces, floating mouths....There are things that need tweaks and modifications.

So, I've proposed and gotten the green light from Paul and Steve to go back to some of my pages from chapter 5 and clean it up a bit. Use what I've learned from my experience so far to make the pages at least decent in my eyes and some others that were less than impressed when I first came on board.

It won't be HUGE changes, I'm not like redrawing chapter 5. But the characters will have improvements. I'll let you guys know as the pages are modified. This should go pretty quickly, but you never know. xD TO THE SAI FILES! *gallops away*

Edit: Oh, and I should probably make this clear, chapter 6 will continue to be posted every week without delay. Both projects will be going on at the same time.

Inspired Spinoff, Open Canvas Story. Need Team!

30 July 2014 - 09:57 PM

What we have here is a Sat-AM inspired story, but with elements from other Sonic franchises being combined into an original spinoff involving an upside down view of Mobius, following a new group of resistance that are not as well equipped as the Freedom Fighters, and yet they must run from one of the greatest rivals Sonic had ever fought.

If you've watched AoSTH, chances are you'll recognise one of the characters. When I watched her, I was inspired by her potential. I feel like there's tons more growth and story to be told about her struggle. Here is the short pilot, and keep in mind I wrote this is one night. It's not very refined, lol:

----------------

Breezy the Hedgehog: Reckoning.

The leaves of the lush green maple tree flew in chaos, as a young camel Mobian raced out from the forest into the little log cabin town. He grazed by the bread maker, shoved away a morning jogger, and just missed an artist's interpretive piece of the illustrious Sonic the Hedgehog.

The camel kid knocked into a rhino, and a piece of paper whisked out of the kid's hand. He nabbed it quick, just in view the words, "So ordered Dr. Robotnik," scrawled upside-down.

Just across the street, the camel kid pounded on a wooden door. The sign above read, ''Breezy Easy Marigoldia: Rare flowers, made simple.'

"Open!" the kid shouted. "Open this door!"

"It's not locked, dingle head," yelled an old man inside.

The kid swung open the door, and stumbled inside. As he took a breather, an old beaver inched away from the front counter. "Easy kid," said the old Mobian. "What's got under your britches?"

"Please help me!" The kid yelled. "Robotnik wants to turn me into a robot! You have to hide me!"

"Whoa there son. This is a flower shop, not the underground railroad."

"Oh my," whimpered a sultry woman voice from the back. A cyan hedgehog appeared out from the shadows, her large passionate eyes filled with great concern, framed by her long dark blue quills. She wiped her dirt ridden hand on her apron. "Little one, why on Mobius did you bring such dreadful news to my flower shop?"

"I know you protect people!" said the kid. "I know who you really are!"

"Oh, really now," said the old beaver. "Last time I checked kid, we were still a flower shop."

"Last time I checked, sir, a flower shop doesn't have an oath that begins with, 'Once was cold, now is hot, with a passion...'"

"Not so loud!" The old Mobian shouted, before he raced over and slammed the door shut. "You want Robotropolis to hear you? Where did you hear that?"

"Please. Just hide me 'til he chooses someone else."

"Cool it down just a notch," said the old beaver. "We are not by any means work for hire, you ignorant little roughion."

"Oh, you know, he's right little one," said the sultry hedgehog. "We are...particular. You need a hero, not an old flower shop. Sonic will save you."

"By the time I get to the freedom Fighters," said the kid, "Robotnik would've found me. Please, I need your help."

"What's your name?"

"L.J. My name is L.J, son of Larry Vinney."

"Larry Vinney?" said the old beaver. "Your dad owns Casino Nights."

"You know my dad?"

"I just know he legally owns all that land, before Robotnik took claim of it by force. Your dad didn't tick off the old egg, did he?"

"No!"

"I'm Breezy," interrupted the cyan hedgehog. "That crazy old beaver is Paris. Forgive him little guy, he's a grumpy one. L.J, what told you Robotnik was looking for you?"

"And who told you about us?" scowled Paris.

"Let's not interrogate him, Paris, please."

Paris growled under his breath.

"Robotnik sent me this notice," said L.J, as he held out the paper.

"Notice?" said Breezy.

"Robotnik doesn't give out notices." said Paris.

"Let me see that." Breezy clonked across the floor with her high heeled shoes. She picked the paper from L.J's hand, and flattened it out on a table.

Pay admonietion, a one finale that commits ye to join robots.

This must rust inside a time.

It adds a skin to ye.

Ye will be collected in 6 minutes. If ye fail to surrender, ye will be found in less than a minute.

So ordered Dr.Robotnik.

"This is a strange letter," said Breezy. "I've never seen Robotnik write so...artfully."

"Breeeeezyyy," said paris. "We can't take on this kid."

"Oh, I know Paris. But, maybe we can help him reach Sonic at least. Remember, never heartless."

"Never foolish either."

"I don't care what you do," said the kid. "Just keep me safe, please."

"Wait a minute," said Breezy, looking over the letter with extreme intrigue. "There's something...familiar about this letter."

Paris waddled up, gazing his eyes over the table, and the words on the letter. "...He misspelled admonition, and why couldn't he just say 'you' instead of ye? It sounds dastardly tacky."

"...Because it's shorter," said Breezy. "Which is useful when using a code. Robotnik put an old coded message in here, designed for..." she paused, her eyes poked at L.J for a brief moment. "...It'll take just one minute, and I'll decode this."

"Why would Robotnik code a letter to a kid?"

"Let's find out." Breezy prodded her finger around the letter. "The last paragraph has a positive and a negative clue, just like the old system. Plus six, minus one, which means we use every fifth letter. Every new paragraph is a space. Let me just..." she flipped out a pen from her pants pocket. "...D...E...F..." she wrote out the sentence in short time.

Not a moment after she was finished, she dropped the pen, and jerked back with a face drenched in fear.

"What?" said Paris. "What's it say? Breezy?"

"...We have to leave, now. Evacuate everyone!"

"What!?"

"Get everyone..."

BASH!

Shrapnel flew all around the room, as the roof disappeared. The sky exposed, floating above them, Robotnik's egg carrier.

"Underground!" Shouted Paris. "Now!"

Breezy grabbed tight to L.J's hand and dashed with him to the back of the store. She lifted off a large board, and helped L.J down the exposed hole.

"What did the letter say!?" shouted Paris.

Breezy grabbed Paris, and forced him down the hole. "Safety first!" Breezy replaced the board as she entered the hole last.

BAM! A robot landed from high above in the middle of the destroyed flower shop. The engine in the middle of its stomach slowly came to a stop, pushed himself upright with his sharp metallic fingers. His red electronic eyes scanned around the area. His cast shadow resembled a striking resemblance to a famous hero hedgehog.

A piece of paper flew into the robot's face, which it was quick to pull off. It eyed the back of the store, and started clonking its feet forward.

It threw the paper in the air, and the paper de-crumpled flat against a wall. Across the page was the sentence Breezy had written, from the coded letter.

Defectors must die

The reckoning has begun...

-----------------

For those who don't know, Breezy is a robot built by Robotnik, but in AoSTH switched sides when she saw the purity of Sonic's heart. She now leads a team of robot defectors, hiding in the darkness as the Freedom Fighters fight the war.

But now Robotnik has had enough. He sends Metal Sonic, his loyal servant (and direct foil of Breezy) to eliminate the defectors. Further details for those who wish to help.

It is an open canvas project ready for a new underground world to be built with new characters to discover. I'm not attached to much, not even the title. I'm only attached to Breezy, the ark Breezy has to face, and the fact that Metal Sonic is her foil.

The over arching ark is about choice. The choice to be free, as opposed to following Robotnik's dogma, as she was programmed to. Dicovering her humanity. on a near impossible struggle against practically Sonic himself, how do they hope to survive without the aid of the Freedom Fighters? It's time to get creative.

I've got the foundation. Have I plucked your interest?
