@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

#197472 The Fight Against Isis

[It will be in PM. I told you otherwise. I don't want others input to be shouted out and overshadowed because of this. We are covering a lot of heated ground. Like I insisted before, we will talk about it person to person. I will Pm you. And do you have a Skype? We can talk personally that way. It's much better that way to understand where each one of us are coming from. I do not wish this to devolve into a one on one debate between you and me; as others should give their thoughts. Us just slinging walls of text at each will not help us or others. Let's not argue for the sake of argument. Let's actually try to reason with a goal in mind shall we? This is not about one-ups-menship, it's about reasoning important issues through and correctly. You might find we agree on a lot more than you think.]

Well at LEAST you're not locking the topic, that's a start I suppose. But keep in mind I'm not doing this for one-upmenship.

I guess for now I'll just leave the past where it belongs. I'll focus more on the future from this point forward.

Robin Williams on Porn, and as you can imagine there is quite a bit of NSFW language and gestures.

If it will lighten the mood, here is his routine talking about Doc Ellis on LSD pitching a no hitter game. (Language may be a little on the NSFW side, but still funny.)

#195257 Copyright As A Form Of Censorship (Again).

Posted by Louis the Hedgehog on 04 July 2014 - 08:27 AM

Yes I know, I talked about this before, and yes I was dismissed as a conspiracy theorist.

But that was before things like attacks on net neutrality, the Viacom and Warner Music Group lawsuits involving Youtube, the DMCA tools that have often been illegally exploited to violate the safety and privacy of everyone online, Orwellian attempts of legislation such as SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, and so on, and the whole legal farce of Ken Penders.

Looks like the threat was bigger than I thought. Sure there are plenty of people standing up to things like this now, but there have been a few setbacks. Keep in mind these patent trolls are never going to stop, so the struggle continues.

And now there's this.

Think about it. Is a restricted internet really the type of "freedom" that so many fought for?

Oh, by the way, happy Independence Day.

#189128 Poll: 55% Sega Fans Said Sonic Did Not Have A Good Year

You know what this means. There are still 45% of "fans" who will swallow anything that is shoveled down their throats, unless they're unsure.

#184109 My Grandfather Just Died.

Posted by Louis the Hedgehog on 04 November 2013 - 04:13 PM

It happened less than an hour ago. His suffering is now over. But remember that it's not how long you live, it's what you do with your time. And in a nutshell, he was the one who inspired me to take up a career in engineering. I obtained my degree in 2010, but sadly I am yet to use it doe to the economy.

So the next time you visit St.Louis, the future location of Knothole when Earth becomes Mobius, and happen to stop by the airport, and you see the Boeing building, remember him.

Say hi to Ben for me.

I was hoping this idea would gain support from BOTH sides since this would be BETTER than a compromise. But before I spread this around further I want some feedback. Does anyone else have any better ideas? Is there anything I should clarify further?

If you ask me, Boehner is acting like Ken Penders. He thinks he's giving the Obama administration the finger, but he's actually giving it to the entire country.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Bu3TVrjmPW4

Sure I think Obama could be doing a LOT better in some places but is it really so bad that we have a medical safety-net more like all the rest of the industrialized countries out there?

I'm tired of how my generation as well as myself are being labeled as "lazy" for being jobless. I'm just playing a looooooooong and boring game of hurry up and wait. This is the REAL reason.

I'm worried this is why my generation will be known as the unemployable generation.

I love that song! Have you heard the original by Normaal?

Looks liek I'm not the ONLY one who listens to Daft Punk.

Also, this is a piece called "Icarus"

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Ns7fNPiNiNc

I listen to them as well, I really like their album Discovery, which they made the animé Intersella 5555: The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem.

They also did the soundtrack for TRON: LEGACY.

I also believe they should do some of the music for future sonic games. I maen just IMAGINE Sonic transforming into supersonic while listening to THIS:

#182172 The Other Problem With Sonic Fans.

Posted by Louis the Hedgehog on 03 October 2013 - 09:43 PM

I know I know, you've heard me and many others go on and on about how this fanbase is fragmented and full of crazies. You know, the recolor "artists", the people who complained about Sonic's green eyes, the voice actors, and so on.

But this time it's different. I'm going to talk about the idiots on the OTHER end. This is a problem that is bigger than you realize (bigger than I realized too) and I feel it is not talked about enough.

What I am referring to are the "sonic fans" who at first SEEM sane, they do make many good points about how Sonic is going down the toilet, but then destroy all credibility by placing the blame on the furries.

And if you don't know what a furry is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Furries

So in a nutshell their whole argument is that fans of anthropromorphic characters ruined a franchise based priamrily around an anthropromorphic character. Let's use that "logic" elsewhere, shall we?

"The ending of Mass Effect 3 was caused by science fiction fans!"

"Nickelback is the fault of the fans who listen to rock music!"

"Gamers everywhere are why Microsoft nearly screwed up the Xbox One!"

See how STUPID that is? If anything, furries actually helped keep Sonic alive. They have contributed MANY great pieces of fanart. I've seen some people cosplaying (or even fursuiting) as Sonic characters, including a few SatAM characters. How is this ruining Sonic at all.

But they they give you this whole sob-story about how "furries ruin childhoods" because they think some of the characters ar good looking. Yeah, because that's SO MUCH WORSE than their repective franchises being mangled in the corporate machine, being killed off, being mutilated, or being lost because of a stupid lawsuit. If you complain about THOSE things you're labled as "a manchild that needs to grow up". But if you say that finding anthro-characters attractive is not a big deal you're labeled as a zoophile. There are two things wrong with this. First, you either care about your childhood or you don't. Second, it suggests that these characters are not even beings at all. I know they are just fictional but this thinking scares me to the core. That whole "they're just animals" argument has justified some of the worst actions in all history. You KNOW what I'm talking about. I bet Ben Hurst would punch these people in the face if he were still alive. Even ROBOTNIK had more respect for the Mobians than that!

And it's not just the random idiots who sees the internet as just a harassment tool. There were several people who were pointing out many flaws with the Sonic franchise and his fanbase. Some of them seemed to be really cool, easy going, and interesting poeple. Their words used to really resonate with me. I believed in them, trusted them, even thought they were the answer. But now I see how much of a FOOL I was. When I addressed this to one of them I was hoping we could settle this privately and in a civilized way. Instead he exposed my conversation to everyone opening the floodgates to my haters and then some. I never should have trusted him.

So you know what I have learned? These people don't truly care about Sonic, they only care about doing damage. They claim to have all the answers but they're no more sane then all the rest of the crazies in ths fanbase. At best they will only replace our present set of problems with a whole new set of ones.

Oh, and before I forget. You know all the people who got sick of all the bullshit that DID ruin Sonic and decided to leave his fanbase for it? Guess where they went? That's right, they joined the furry fandom. I believe that should be the last nail in the coffin of the "Furries ruined Sonic" argument.
