@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

To my understanding, the latest version is 1.7, you can get it here. Now, we just need some epic levels to go with this. This version uses NICOLE as her form of attack, as well as somersaults and sliding.

In Topic: What Would You Do

07 January 2011 - 06:13 PM

What I would like to say:

The first thing I would do, as soon as I was conscience enough to identify an issue, and sit up, but not stand up. Look at my hands, then follow them to my arms. Then, look at my legs. Probably put my hands on my head to see if it was real. At that time, I Would stand up, fall down, then try to stand up again, doing my best to brace myself, then go to a mirror and take a look. What would I be? Touch question, but my persona has always been that of a dragon, so I guess I would be a dragon. (And no, NOT in any way related to Dulcy. She was what she was, but other than that, no relation whatsoever.) I just hope I have the ability to breath fire. But moving on. I would look in the mirror, then start walking around to explore my surroundings. Where did I wake up, or would I even have access to a mirror? Good questions indeed. Of course, being the calm nature of myself, I would start to look around for some signs of life, and along the way assess what my tools are to use. I am sure either I will wind up bumping into a SWATbot and be captured/roboticized, or meet up with a freedom fighter. Of course, I wouldn't say a whole lot, but I would need to come up with something. I am usually good at making up stuff on the spot, so it can't be that hard. Become friends and help them with their plans to eliminate the enemies and rebuild the world.

What would really likely happen:

The first thing I would do, as soon as I was conscience enough to identify an issue, and sit up, but not stand up. Look at my hands, then follow them to my arms. Then I would start to panic at the fact that I am COMPLETELY different. I would stand up and start to scream, as I am beginning to panic over my sudden transformation. I would trip and fall on my face. A SWATbot would likely hear me, capture me and roboticize me, or a freedom fighter would hear me, come to investigate, and see a dragon on the verge of insanity, as I start shouting "WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO ME?! WHERE AM I?!" ultimately leading to me passing out due to increase oxygen invoked by hyperventilating. Once I come to, then I can fall back on my previous experience, stand up, and walk around. Then I would try to breath fire and fly, just to see if I could. Once that became a mastered skill, I would probably end up looking for life to see where and what I am, making up some crazed story as to not sound like a lunatic. If I met up with knothole, I would likely remain under the radar until I became familiar with my surroundings. Then, start to interact with the characters. In time, I would make a few passes to Sally, then when she finally tells me to leave her alone, probably try to make a pass on Bunny. Then, when SHE tells me to leave her alone, I would probably end up feeling left out (for being a complete moron) and go fight Robotnik on my own, leading to me being roboticized. Or, I meet up with Robotnik, and try to befriend him to break him apart from the inside, but be a moron about it and get caught, then being roboticized.

Not a good ending.

So yeah, this is probably what I would do. I would like to think the first, but I mean, how do you really know what you would do? Seriously?

In Topic: The True Leader Of The Freedom Fighters

07 January 2011 - 04:06 PM

Well, to be fair, I would have selected both Sonic and Sally as a single "entity", if such an option would have existed, as they, together, make an awesome team that can decimate all.

The definition of a leader is a person or thing that leads. So, the definition of lead, as used in the context of the definition, is someone who takes action;to initiate. This seems more like Sonic's edge, but Sally has initiated a lot of plans herself. I'd love to see a tally of who has initiated more action, and I mean not just in the scope of the videos we can watch, but in the sense of a whole.

Sonic may not seem smart, but in all honesty, I think it's just his speed getting in the way of his better judgment. I bet he can make a fine leader if he just takes the time to plan HOW to use his speed, and matured up a little. Not a whole lot, just enough.

In Topic: What Is Your Least Favorite Satam Episode?

Ro-Becca, in part with The Odd Coupe. With the exception of Antoine's suffering, the show sucked. Sorry, but if Antoine wasn't such a bumbling idiot I might have more respect for him. I guess I can also throw in that I can't see Sonic as being that lazy and messy. Sure, probably giving Ant a hard time, but his hut was never a thrashed mess. Was it?

In Topic: The Next Sonic Universe Arc.... The Horror The Horror

07 January 2011 - 02:58 PM

Well, I might as well jump in head first and post my opinion on it all. Please bear with me, as I really suck at writing.

To start off, the story arc in questions doesn't appeal to my personal taste. I read one of them, but you know what? It's just not for me. I will probably keep it if I ever have kids. At least some kids might like it, and if it pleases them, then good for them. I don't like the idea of having a lot of stories like this, but as it has been said before, this is what is drawing in the younger crowd. And it's just a short, not like Archie is diverting their main story into a 20-issue treasure hunt. I don't like it, but I will respect it for its point and purpose. I hope it draws more kids into Sonic the Hedgehog.

As far as what is happening with the series as a whole, I guess I expect to see this happening. It all comes down to business procedure. I don't like it one bit, but I know that a business would be willing to make me unhappy if they changed something in a way to make three or four other people happy, because that is more profitable for them. Seems to me the reason SatAM isn't being respected is because the younger audience aren't respecting it, likely because they have never seen the shows and can't connect emotionally to the characters. Does a company try and take the time to creatively write an old series into the hearts of the new readers, or rely on the already-existing fanbase of the newer stuff? It seems more profitable for them to rely on what the next generation is getting in to. If they respected the SatAM series more, I would be willing to pay more into getting the series, but at what cost? How many kids who don't know what SatAM is would stop reading it because they don't want to learn a whole new series? Or because their favorite, new shiny characters aren't given more attention? This kind of thing does happen, and makes for a nightmare to balance out.

What I would like to see is a new comic series, a series written to continue Sonic SatAM in all of its glory. A series written by people who can show respect to the series without adding the additional baggage to the series. A comic that can breathe new life into this tenured vet, and make me happy. Something that I would be willing to spend money on, and not have the politics of business etiquette get into the way. And, you know what? We have that. It may not be Archie, but I trust it will stick to the respect of the series and does give me my (long awaited) third season to the show. Archie will never be considered as an acceptable outcome for me, but simply more of an alternate ending that you may or may not like. Doesn't mean it's all bad though, just another one of Sonics many cascading universes that never allign with each other.
