@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Hahaha wow, that was well-compared, :awesome: especially the "Android Phone". But i don't think it's just Star Trek, it's whoever the prop designers were for those shows and the people who thought of the idea or concept

Technically yes and technically no.

The Flip Top phone was inspired by the Flip Top Communicators used in Star Trek the Original Series, which prop department consisted of the same stuff your kids have to make their Space Adventures.  The Difference was that the prop department had a professional team and more requirements to make it look like what the director want and the kids have their imagination to do the rest.

So yeah, specifically with TNG, it's the prop guys designs, but it's what they did in the show that inspired them to be recreated in real life.

PC does NOT have Better Graphics by Default.

Most people, even gamers have an average computer, which can't run Games at their best graphics without majorly slowing the game down.  And Gaming Computers or Graphic cards are so expensive you might as well go for the console anyways.

Also the facts for PC gamers are a bit corrupted.  Steam has causes a lot of gamers to go to PC yes, but they also cause the corruption as more games are Sold Through Steam, but not everyone plays the games they buy on Steam.  Steam makes it so easy to buy games that gamers neglect the time they have to play them and fail to.  This fudges the scores to make it look like Steam/PC gamers are more popular when in reality it's an illusion caused by more games being bought.

And then you also have to remember that PC is PC, not computer.  MAC users and LINUX don't get as many games, as far as I know not even half.  Since not everyone uses a PC,  they're still restricted to the Console market where games are (price aside) a Dime a dozen.

I still think SEGA is waiting for him to actually make his comic so they can counter sue him for everything.

Avoiding Spoilers and stuff....

WfM Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik has a desire to rule the world based on a traumatic childhood where he was spurned from being the the "fat kid with the big brain" and his childhood hero being spurned for being "insane".  Declaring the rest of the world inferior to him because of their low intelligence, he seeks to "guide them" into growing and expanding, however because of his trauma, he forces down their throats rather than gently.

My Robotnik is also a schemer and politician, getting to where he is through underhanded deals.  While he leads his Empire he also has many underlings that aren't robots to do his bidding as well.  He also uses the fear of Robotization versus actual Robotization to control people, desiring to control people rather than machines.

In all seriousness. These rules are not finalized and I want some mature opinions. The better we prepare for the future, the less we regret the actions that will become our past. This isn't a dictatorship. I want your insights.

The only issue that I have is how far is too far with violence, sexual, and other objectionable material; in my opinion just saying NSFW doesn't cut it. If you go and ask someone on the street "how far is too far" you'll get a different answer depending on the person you ask.

Personally I am not writing my stories with Sega's current Sonic demographic in mind, nor do I have any intention of writing anything for the pre-teen crowd in mind. I am more or less writing for grown adults that are fans and stories that I myself would like to read. This doesn't mean that I want to write smut or gore, but I would like to know where to draw the line. In my upcoming chapters in particular it's probably going to get more disturbing and while I usually run these kind of scenes by RedStranger for editing, I rather not offend anyone or go over the line in the first place; that is the furthest thing from my intention. Like the old saying goes: "one man's art is another man's pornography."

Also what happens if one of us happens to put something in a story that another member finds objectionable but still falls under criteria? Do we just tell that person to grow a thicker skin and/or don't read the story, or do we adjust our rules to fit that person's objections?

Easy fix actually.

If you take the rating of a video game you can see it gives you the general audience and usually some extra warnings on it.  We do the same.

We acknowledge a rating or general audience, and provide warnings of what we feel might need to be addressed.

FOR EXAMPLE:

War for Mobius - Rating: T - Genre: Sci-Fic/Adventure - Contians:  Medium Level Violence, some humor that may not be appropriate for children under 13.

also mistakenly flew into Ben and myself for stating in less than a few words our concern of news.

I totally did.  I just wanna talk about the other aspects of the comic.   xD

As do I; I can't wait to see Bunny and Sally in the comic again. However, I'd much rather see them in Sea3on again.

Hint hint wink wink.
