Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Id rather keep this discussion out of the application thread however due to this being strictly matters between us three.

*sigh* Don't bother, I'm ending it here. Even though I wanted to put it behind me, I can see now that this incident is going to affect us in the long run. If you and John are going to hold a grudge against me forever, then I don't see how I can continue to attend here without facing some sort of discrimination, intentional or otherwise. If I can't expect fair treatment on the site, then it's probably best if I stop coming here. You're right, we don't get along well together and I'm sure others share your opinion of me, so I think it's in everyone's best interest if I just leave. I know when I'm not wanted.

I'm sorry this didn't work out. I really wanted to make further contributions to Sea3on, but I don't really see any kind of future for me here because of bad blood. So this is my last post. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed my time here and there are many of you whom I respect, even if the feeling is not returned. I wish you the best of luck with Sea3on and I hope you find a worthy artist to succeed Salamander.

I'm rather offended at that explanation, chief. That argument is ancient history and I'm shocked that it would influence your decision now. It was a stupid incident and John shouldn't have been banned me for it, but I shouldn't have threatened to blackmail him in return. It was a bad idea and I apologised for it, just as John apologised for overreacting. He told me in his emails that this would be forgotten and we could go on with our lives, but if you're holding it against me now then I guess it's not forgotten at all. If you have a problem with my attitude, fine. Insult me, penalize me or ban me from your site if I'm that bad an influence. But you know I did a good job on Sea3on and I'm hurt that you would dismiss me from it because of extraneous circumstances.

Well, it's your call. I won't prompt you for it again. Incidentally, why were you dead set against me replacing Salamander before I even volunteered? You provided no explanation here or in the Sea3on comments, so I'm guessing it's something you have trouble admitting.

We aren't giving it to Glitcher.

Funny, because just about everyone seems to disagree with you. It's nice to know you vetoed me before I even got a chance to apply. tongue.gif But I guess you're probably right. The reason my short looks good is because I had several months to prepare it. It was a good experience improving my comic art without worrying about the deadline, but trying to maintain that kind of quality while following a weekly schedule will drain all of my free time. It's not so much a commission as it is a job - a job that doesn't pay much as Chief says. I don't think I'm ready to commit to that.

On the other hand, a few months ago I brought up the idea of drawing a comic based on Ben Hurst's notes about Nicole's backstory. I'm still open to that possibility and right now you're short on Sea3on material. (Mara hasn't even started drawing her comic yet.) It would be the perfect tribute to Ben's unfinished ideas and I also mentioned this to Gojira to see if he'd be willing to write the script. He sounded interested, but he seemed conflicted on how to approach the story and I'm not sure about his involvement. The alternative is that you can save money on the writer's fee and let me write the script myself for no extra charge - the advantage being that I get more control over the story (not that I'd want to undermine or deviate from Ben's notes of course). All in all, it's a good way to honour Ben Hurst, fill the current void in Sea3on and deliver more of the kind of art that everyone seemed to enjoy last time. If anyone else thinks this is good idea, please show your support.

Salamander is dropping from Sea3on and managing the site? Crikey, school must really be draining her life if she can't spare the time for some brief updates and maintenance. What will happen if the forum goes down before you find a new webmaster? *stocks up on supplies*
