Are you refering to the variant cover or both? We already know the varient cover sucks, so why continue to complain about it?

 

Also, what's wrong with them having gloves? Most Sonic characters are modeled after classic cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, and Woody Woodpecker; so it makes sense as a homage.

 

 

I only just saw the cover, so I'm not really 'continuing to complain' about it...I've only just started complaining, you see.

 

I don't mind Sonic and Tails having gloves but when the entire cast wears them it gets a little absurd.

Fuck, those new designs look like ass. WTF. Why do they ALL have to wear gloves? It's bad enough Sonic and Tails wear the fugly things, but now the whole cast has to. YAY. Oh and Bunnie got a boob reduction.

I'm rather nervous about this issue, because I'm in agreement that Snivvy might get killed or run off with Regina (an effective way to not have in him the comic for a long while, or ever) Another SatAM character dusted to make room for Sega ones (the two robots...) Whatever. :/ I won't be subscribing again if my Sniv goes away.

I wouldn't mind seeing Monkey Khan bite it though...
I hope Ian pleasantly surprises me by having Sniv and Queenie win the battle here and sending Egghead scampering home. And then establishing themselves as a pair of villains who appear now and then to make trouble for everyone

He wasn't at any point hiding that he was trying to take over the world: he didn't understand that Hope wouldn't want that. Because Snively is a very selfish sort of psychopath, he assumed that she'd be okay with it and would like dominating the world as part of a family. Hope has until now been said to be a step-daughter, someone who is not blood-related in any way to the Robotnik family... but happened to look exactly like Maria and had inklings of Robotnik genius.

Sniv is supposed to be a good manipulator. One thing a manipulator does is evaluate a person's 'weaknesses' so they can play on those. Sniv had to live with a violent nutbar for years and years.... I just can't buy that he doesn't know how to 'read' people's emotions and then gauge his words and actions accordingly to save his ass or try to maniuplate the situation in his favor. (Some people have said that Sniv doesn't understand loyalty or love or any of that... but there's a difference between not understanding/feeling something and the ability to observe it and emulate it.)
Snively already knew Hope was pissed at him for torching Knothole previously, and I can't really imagine he thinks she's 'evil' or wants to rule the world. He played on her being lonely and wanting to be with family members. I do believe he likes her and wants her with him, so that could've very well been truthful talk on his part (we'll be happy together, etc) But that truth was also conviently manipulative.
Which is why I don't understand why he would then blow his 'hook-line-and sinker' ploy with the crazy outburst. Unless he really was sooo giddy and pleased with himself that he couldn't help it

Some people peg Sniv as a pyschpath, and I'm ok with that. It's their opinion of the character and it fits with most of his behavior. I've never seen him as a pyschopath/sociopath myself. They have no feelings of empathy or compassion because they were born without it. It's not their fault, really. I do believe Sniv was born with a normal capactiy for empathy, but years of being mistreated has deadened it. He cares about Hope... why bother to warn her about Knothole if he didn't? He loves Regina in his own way. In a way, a person who ISN'T pyscho/sociopathic and still ACTS like it is even worse... at least a pyscho/sociopath can't really 'help it', but the non-nutcase can. They just choose not to.

Yeah, I understand about Hope being the stepdaughter... I just found it odd to bring up the relations. They might not have been blood-related, but Hope AND Sniv always referred to each other as half-siblings previously anyway. I guess SU 38 was just cementing the fact that they're blood-related, but it seemed like a waste of space. Unless it comes into play in a future story somehow...

I never buy SU but I'm getting this arc. It sounds pretty Sniv-tastic. Though the first issue didn't have as much of the little guy as I'd hoped for. There'd better be more of him in the next issues! *shakes fist*

Man, I'd forgotten about that travesty. LOL I totally agree on this... wasting a wish on such a selfish thing was just... mindboggling. Yuck.

I agree with several things already brought up:
The Slap
Sonic running on dirt ()
Alien deroboticization (indeed, getting rid of roboticization altogether)
Mobius = Earth (Never liked the idea to begin with. I guess it explains the 'nationality' of certain characters, like Antoine. But I still prefer the Mobius being its own fantastical world instead...)
Sonic and co going to school (I don't mind the idea of a few elders sitting the teens down and tutoring them now and then. But to show a fully established school system? No.)


And now for some of my own. (many Snively-centered)

Snively putting tracking devices in his hair. I kind of laughed, but it was the sort of laughter combined with eye-rolling because it's so dumb. Not only that, but wouldn't Eggman be able to track Snively down...putting Sniv at risk for getting caught during any secret plotting he's doing?

Sniv getting caught after Robotnik's death wayyyy back in the 50's. I didn't mind the idea of him being caught and going to prison. I minded the fact he got caught so easily and quickly. Meh.

Dulcy being in an abusive relationship. I just thought this was lame... lol. I know people hate Dulcy, but she doesn't seem like the type who'd let someone abuse her.

Mina the POPSTAR. Just like the school thing... I'd be fine if they showed her doing a few shows around Knothole. But to have her be this 'international' star, all over the radio... c'mon. When did the Mobians have time to set up radio networks? Or huge elaborate stages? It all ties in with my entire derision for Knothole's expansion from a small, secretive village to a huge city, complete with castles, schools, huge hospitals and etc... It takes away from the... direness... of their situation, I guess.

Tying in with Mina the Popstar: Nack the assassian who totally sucks. LOL (The story where he's hired to kill Mina. He totally blows it and looks like an assclown. LOL They ruin his badass image. Basically Nack's shot misses Mina by a mile, sets a tree on fire, and then Nack throws off his disguise in the midst of a crowd so everyone can see and recognize him. What a pro!)
Not that I wanted to see Mina die (I did, actually ;O) BUT why pick a character who's supposed to be really really good at his job, and then have him act like an amatuer? Pick some bumbling dork instead. LIke Scratch and Grounder. Haahaa.

Snively living in Knothole. The FF's were kind enough to take Sniv in after he helped them destroy ADAM's nanite rampage thing. But then what did they do? Put him on trial? Lock him up? Give him a tracking bracelet, an escort or supervise him in any way? Nope. They just let him walk around free, and access any area of Knothole he wanted. Nobody even seemed to notice when he suddenly disappeared! (going back to Eggman)

To add onto Zelchias's list of cliches, how about the Snakes-are-Always-Evil one? In the stories about the 'first Freedom Fighter' group, the Snake member of the group ended up being the traitor on Robotnik's side. Wow, didn't see that one coming

Amy the Strong! I personally HATE how Amy became this super-strong freak of nature. When before, a squadron of SWATbots were trouble, now they're something Amy can simply skip up to and whack away with her hammer. The Iron King is 5 times bigger than the average Mobian? No problem, let's just send the little pipsqueak Amy in! TEEHEE! (Why couldn't they just have left the unnaturally strong role to Bunnie or Knuckles like it always had been?)

The worst part of it was Sniv's physical description of having: 'BLACK HAIR' and 'RED EYES'. WTH, Archie.

I totally agree with you, John. I don't think repaying is helping anything, because giving people free money just makes lazy people, and, no matter how much is repaid, someone will always claim it isn't enough.
I feel bad about what happened to the Native Americans. It was shitty and not fair. But over history, many cultures have been overtaken and even outright destroyed by other ones. That's just how humans are. They've done it in the past, they will probably do it in the future. Money isn't going to help preserve lost culture... passing down those traditions and stories, while living in the modern world IS.
And honestly, those who complain about being victims of this and that in history aren't innocent either. Native Americans tribes warred with each other, killed each other off, and I'm sure they tried to overtake each other's territories. (correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see enemies just letting enemies use up all the area's resources ) It's the same thing with some blacks...the ones who use the slavery-race card, as if slavery was something that happened to them last week...
The white man weren't the only ones who screwed you over... but Africans did too. Warring African tribes sold their fellow black brethren to the slave traders. But no blacks today had anything to do with that, and no whites did either. Just let it go and live in the world as it is now. Carrying over these old grudges is just foolish. Women were abused and oppressed in the past too, by men... yet am I blaming every man alive for the shit they did to my ancestors?
Humans are humans... we are all capable of shitty acts and the laying blame game is just another shitty action.
