I didn't see it as realistic. For one thing Ian butchered the logic of the M:25YL story and it isn't plausible in the slightest. For one thing Lara-su disappeared before Sonic was transported to the new timeline. SUDDENLY she's alive an unaffected. And Tails whipped out some plot device without even being alerted there was a problem in the first place. WTF...
I couldn't see M:25YL happening anyway, Sonic said he agreed to be king because he hadn't known the duties and responsibilities would take him from what he likes to do. Well 134 has made him very aware of the sacrifice he'd have to make so M:25YL couldn't happen. I'm not arguing "realism" I'm just saying it was an immensely boring lackluster enviornment. An action adventure character thrown into a world of politics slumber parties and belching contests. I'm saying that I as a reader didn't find that at all entertaining. Second yeah he misses his kids but they're gone and he's already chosen the fast lane over Sally and still seems to want to go back.

What's wrong with political stories? I'm sure the political backdrop of the Great War has the potential to be exceedingly interesting.

Most fans wish to interpret Sonic as a shallow, hotheaded fool living an itinerant lifestyle in search of 'adventure'. Then again, most fans are dumb.
Sonic--not just the titular character--has the potential to be far more complex than that. Julian's entire backstory revolved around politics and war, and it was quite intriguing. If you are in favor of scrapping the inclusion of political drama, then you might as well be an Ian fangirl, seeing as to how he seems to agree with the sentiment that the series should pander more to mindless action aficionados.

I'd be kind of shocked that it could actually end, and be a bit sad; I've been with Sonic since forever. I'd move on, remembre the good times and enjoy what Sonic stuff I got.

It would be sad. But memories last for ever.
