@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

I picked Shadow because I think Scourge is a half-assed knockoff.

i dunno...this is VERY hard to pick between.

Scourge has charisma and a feral, animalistic appeal that makes him easily likable as a villain or dopplegangar.

Shadow seems to emit anti-charisma in the form of his emo-ness. he's too mysterious to determine exactly if he's good or bad. however, he IS a force to be reckoned with and can put sonic in his place pretty quickly and efficiently, and that's definitely a plus.

in the end, i picked scourge becuase he's a more relatable villain and he appears more "human" than shadow.

Y'know, I think I have to agree with Metal Sonic xD

But between the poll choices, I guess I'd pick Scourge, for the sole fact that I really, really don't like Shadow. xD Not only that, I see Shadow as having a personality far removed from Sonic's, while Scourge really does come across as a punk, evil version of Sonic. And like Ringtailed Fox said, Shadow seems almost more of a neutral than a good/bad character.
I agree Scourge has more charisma as well, he's just more 'likeable'.

With Scourge and Sonic though... I've always felt they were almost like a knockoff of Darkwing Duck and Negaduck (from 'Darkwing Duck', obviously xD) I know the evil twin concept has been done numerous times, and probably in the same fashion!... But both Darkwing and Negs were the 'same person'; Negs came from an alternate version of the main universe. In his universe, just as in Scourge's, Negaduck had taken over and become the King. So yeah, maybe it's cause that's the only example of evil twins I know really well... but Scourge and Sonic really seem just like that O.o. ('cept Negs is so much better xD)

Anyway... enough from me. xD

Scourge. I like him more then Metal Sonic too for the simple fact that he has more of a personality compared to Metal and he just stands out more, with Metal having even less of a personality then Shadow. Shadow is dark and brooding, but I see Scourge's personality has more potential. I think that Scourge has the attitude and charisma and ruthlessness you just don't get in Shadow. I can also see Scourge serving Sonic as a character a lot better. People don't want to see emo anymore, and while Scourge has a dark past, he doesn't brood about it. Scourge just has the tone of a Sonic character more. Eh.

Scourge, for all the reasons most people said already. Yeah the whole "evil twin" aspect isn't very original, esepcially in something like Sonic, but Scourge's personality tends to make up for that a lot. Its very charismatic and humorous, especially if written well. Truth be told, Scourge was the kind of character I was hoping for Shadow to be like when I heard SA2 was coming out. Didn't turn out that way, but it was fine for awhile, I guess. Never liked him as much as Scourge though, and ever since StH, my fandom for him has seriously dwindled. So Scourge, hands down.

Wow, I'm actually kind of surprised for some reason at the scores so far. I mean, I had liked Shadow for a long time, now I don't really care about him (but then again I personally don't like Scourge either). Meh.

Scourge without a doubt. Not only has he been around way longer, but his personality is better as well. Scourge is out for himself, going by his own motives, (albeit not the smartest) while shadow joins forces with evil because he has a bad memory.

Metal Sonic. He, unlike Shadow, doesn't pretend to be anything other than a robot, and I know squat about Scourge and am thus not inclined to comment on him.

I don't particularly care for either, so that makes it quite hard to choose between them.

I can sort of empathize with the idea that Scourge is more realistic in the personality deparment / motives, but he is little more than take-Sonic-make-evil. Shadow is too emo though... and I really just flat out dislike him.

Maybe Scourge, it's just not certain.

He was originally the opposite-world's (where everyone is evil except Dr. Robotnik etc.) Sonic and along with the anti/evil/opposite-versions of the other FFs made a good number of appearances over the years until recently, basically he absorbed power from a chaos emerald turned green and ta-da "Scourge".
As for which is worse I don't know, the Sega or Ian Flynn abomination. Back in the early days the anti-FFs did make some surprisingly good stories though.

I am actually of the opinion that Amy Rose makes the best anti-Sonic. Boy can she make him run away in sheer terror.

Seriously, I'd have to vote for neither, and go with Metal Sonic like a few other people above. Shadow has aided in the Sonic franchise's demise IMHO, and Scourge? No comment. Metal Sonic was THE original equal ability nemesis for Sonic.

Uh, I wasn't aware that I had to do a research paper on why I find Metal Sonic better than Shadow and Scourge. Out of the three Metal Sonic is the only one I find remotely tolerable, mostly because he doesn't open his mouth.

Shadow sucks, but he's practically low-key compared to Scourge. Oh how I hate Scourge.

On a related note, it's recently occured to me that Scourge may be Ian's way of putting an 'Ashura' into the comic. For those unaware, Ashura is Sonic's palette-glitch green evil twin; a Segasonic 'element' that Ian is fond of, to the extent that he featured Ashura in his fanart and fanfiction.

I like Shadow more. He annoy does me a bit because he reminds me of these angsty, self-centered, poorly developed, and unrelatable comic book anti-heroes who were made up because some comic book writer read too much junk philosophy. Still I find his gimmickiness and cheesiness amusing. And, sue me, I actually liked Shadow the Hedgehog; I never heard of him before this game came out, so the fact that he was a dark version of Sonic with gun was a selling point to me.

Scourge is also gimmicky, but in a way that annoys me. And Shadow looks cooler too. I never understood the whole "leather jacket and sunglasses = evil" logic.

I know my reasoning here isn't the most logical, but they're two silly characters.

I don't think Maniac would be too much of a long shot. I never watched Sonic Underground but green and smaller is just something else.

I think Shadow is a darkclone, not an enemy. I haven't heard of scourge then I would pick metal or mecha or whatever his name is these days.
