@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

but.. you say that like it's a bad thing. for all we know, it could turn out to be a great thing.... or, you could be psychic and it could be 32 pages of pure eye-vomit.

Wouldn't it be something if since Sonic Universe involves secondary characters and alternate universe characters and whatnot, what if it finally showed the place where Robotnik's atoms were teleported...Now someone correct me if I am wrong, but isn't Robotnik Prime still technically alive, just trapped in some sort of empty dimension? Or do I have that wrong?

It depends entirely on which writer you ask. Sadly Ian has no intention of exploring such a possibility.

Now we have some reason to believe that there will be some major changes to the main comic, besides BW's gut feelings, around issue #200. It always makes me nervous when there are going to be big changes, because of my concerns that they will use it as an excuse get rid of any trace of Sonic Sat a.m., by killing of or doing away with characters like Sally.

As do I, I remember reading No. 175 and getting to the point where Snively starts lasering Rotor and several other freedom fighters and I remember thinking "Oh God no...its finally happening, SatAM is gone forever..." But then it turned out he was just transporting them.

The comic is not responsible for continuing SatAM. I get VERY irritated when I hear people say "Oh no, it's the end of SatAM" if Archie even appears to get rid of the "SatAM characters"

SatAM isn't going anywhere regardless of what Ian does to the characters. This isn't a continuation of SatAM. We can argue Ian's decisions on an artistic level, but come on.

Well I wasn't trying to imply Archie and SatAM are forever linked, but the fact that the comic continues and retains the SatAM characters is one of the few things that gives me hope for the return of the show, if Ian were to REALLY have an arc where virtually every character besides Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy are killed like I thought was about to happen in 175, it would severely dampen my belief that the characters could ever return in any way.

Seeing as no one whose pitched for SatAM (With the exception of Kuta) has had any interest in refferencing from the longevity of the comic, and adding distinctly Archie elements, I fail to really see the point in linking Archie and SatAM for those purposes. Noting Penders and Kuta, Penders was a comic writer for the book, and I DOUBT what he pitched would've been a continuation of SatAM. With Kuta he barely refferenced any popular elements from Archie let alone did he note an explanation as to how it'd help the series. He pretty much considered the "creme of the crop" SatAM characters. I doubt refferences to Archie were alluded to in his pitch in any case. Quite frankly, most people pitching for the return of SatAM have little to no interst in refferencing the work of Archie comics.

I sure hope the SatAM characters won't be killed off or excluded forever. I mean I know there are a lot of fans who want them to stay, even to this day.

If Ian plans to make all SatAM die off in Sonic Universe, then most likely it's the end of Sonic since we all know Sega of Japan & Sonic Team were trying to erase everything from the cartoons of the past from the start.

if he kills off the Freedom Fighters, watch the readership drop like a rock off a cliff.... i'd stop biking the 4 miles each way to the store to get the monthly issues

Agreed. I had plans to find & get more Sonic comics again after a 10+ year hiatus. If they kill off the SatAM characters all because Sega of Japan & this Ian guy wants the Sonic universe their way, then basically say "good-bye" to Sonic since SatAM started it all for some of Sonic's popularity.

I sure hope they don't kill off any of the main characters, not only would that piss me off, but I'm sure it'll piss off a whole lot of other fans who have been possibly collecting this comic for years. I sure hope Ian gets fired someday, that way we can possibly have one of the old writers return.

the main issue here is not just ian...it's editor mike pellerito. he's just downright mean-spirited. while Justin Freddie Gabrie (42-145 or so) was polite, funny, light-hearted... this guy's arrogant, sneaky, and rude. apparently he's so afraid of backlash or opposing ideas that he hides his email address from everyone, possibly to protect Ian "Plothole" Flynn. if Justin Gabrie was Bill Clinton in personality, the new guy's Dick Cheney.

I don't know much about the new editor. How is he mean spirited (sneaky, rude, etc)?

Guys I think you're all getting scared for nothing. Ian and the editors at archie aren't stupid. They aren't going to kill off established characters that fans love. They know that would just piss us off, and potentially lower their sales. Ken Penders tried to kill off Sally years ago and was shot down. Let's not start unsubstantiated rumors. It just scares people. leave that to the democrats lol.

It'd certainly have made for an interesting read if he had got away with it.

Ken Penders: If I killed Sally Acorn this is how I would've done it. For 15 bucks on Amazon.com. I might actually have bought a book like that.

Miko, your irrational hate for Sally is well documented .

The whole Ken Penders part was actually a joke. Someone needs a sip of some OJ.
She annoys me from time to time. Some days I'm fine with Sally and other days I can't stand her. But I do think the story just from an artistic perspective would've been more interesting if she had in fact died.
