I'm back. Hard drive failure.

@  MoKat : (17 August 2017 - 12:56 PM)

*pokes Shoutbox* Is this thing on? :D

@  Shadow : (17 August 2017 - 12:33 PM)

God dammit...my dad rear ended the neighbors vehicle when he was backing out of the driveway. Swung too far out into the road.

@  chief : (13 August 2017 - 06:53 PM)

Yep. Me and my savy internet skills.

@  furrykef : (13 August 2017 - 05:51 PM)

The problem was it wasn't a ban. It was total account deletion -- which meant we didn't even have any contact info.

@  Clocktopus : (13 August 2017 - 03:12 PM)

Geez, I'm already (in)famous. Great

@  Shadow : (12 August 2017 - 08:39 PM)

Good to see you return. Many were worried over your accidental ban.

@  Clocktopus : (12 August 2017 - 03:50 PM)

Sup all

@  badassbunnie : (12 August 2017 - 12:37 PM)

EKSDEE

@  Uncle Ben : (10 August 2017 - 06:30 PM)

@  RedAuthar : (10 August 2017 - 06:29 PM)

Clocktopus is now a Fellow FUSer and has all the benefits as such.

You would think the head Admin (aka you) would have the ability to undo that. Or at least a "Are you sure you wanna do that" option. Think that's what we have at Scribes.

Just like with Clocktopus...I made him a Fuser..then accidently deleted him when doing something else....And there is no "oops you messed up" option

@  chief : (08 August 2017 - 06:39 PM)

..Especially with websites and me

@  chief : (08 August 2017 - 06:38 PM)

Wait, how did you ban yourself chief?

Any thoughts on the new Jumanji remake?

It does little to grab my attention. I'm very skeptical about remakes though. Last one I remember getting excited about was Total Recall and it was a serious let down for me...

Eh. I dun really think it needs a remake. I mean I'll probably go see it, but it's not exciting yet.

Also it's kinda a reboot sequel thing. So you don't really know what side of the line it falls on.

But they already remade Jumanji. It was called Zathura. :P

It was the same premise, but with a sci-fi theme and it all takes place in a house. It's worthwhile as far as being funny and entertaining.

I really enjoyed the original Jumanji.  Looks like the remake is taking ideas from the short-lived tv series.

Why not just a re release of the original Jumanji but this time have better looking CGI animals?

Because that went over so well with Star Wars. xD

But in all seriousness, just adding better effects doesn't necessarily improve a scene. In fact it can worsen a scene if they don't fit in with the rest of the show.

You can't take for granted that it'll be better, either. The dinosaurs in Jurassic World look way worse than the dinosaurs in the original Jurassic Park, even though JW was made over two decades later and had a larger budget even after adjusting for inflation. Well, the dinos look fine, actually... but the way they move is uncanny.

This is why Steven Spielberg is a great director. He knows the limits of his technology and how to work around them. A lot of directors today still haven't learned that lesson.

Agree with JP:  those dinosaurs still look real.

The tyrannosaurus and indominous looked pretty realistic, but the raptors looked very fake. But for the sake of outdated CGI, theirs no harm in polishing it up to look less crude.

Here for example. Neither can replace the real Jabba puppet, though.Jabba03.jpg

Yep, Jabba should stay a puppet.  It convinced me enough.
