But with the low reviews and sales of the games, you would think SEGA would put a hold on Boom until they had more wiggle room again considering the state SEGA is in right now.

The comic is successful (yet its being folded into Universe for some reason), the cartoon is doing moderately good (considering its time slot it doesn't help) but the weakest link is the games.

Controversial opinion, but I thought Boom had potential, they just needed a shit-ton more work on it and the infighting between Sega and BRB probably didnt help either among other things.

I'm actually enjoying the occasional episode of Sonic Boom. I've not yet played the game, and I really do not intend to. But either way, it's such a shame to see the franchise limp out of the shadow of Sonic 06 and start to recover just to have Sonic Boom come along and ruin that progress. I'd say it's even more disheartening to see Sega make a sequel to their huge failure. That being said, I guess one shouldn't automatically pan a game that hasn't been released yet. We'll see what happens.

In theory, they should have learned from their mistakes last time and fix the problems with it. 

 

Also it appears to be a sequel of the 3DS version not the Wii U version.  Since the 3DS version wasn't broken but rather just...slow/badly written, there is a better chance this one won't suck.

Well, at least Shadow wasn't in Shattered Crystal for no reason other than for the sake of a boss fight.

This might be the last Sonic Boom game they'll make, because I heard the Sonic Boom era is finally going to end on August 24th. I wonder if this will effect the show. I think the show being pulled out of hiatus for two weeks might indicate something.

Source(s)?  :3 The only thing I've heard on that order is that a new episode is coming out every weekday until Aug. 1.

 

At this point, it isn't that big of a deal what happens to Sonic Boom. I think it is pretty clear that Sonic Team would never make Sonic Boom games, and the movie is also supposed to be a different canon. So what happens in Boom stays in Boom.

No problem. Rumors have some base in fact, so it's quite possible something changes their year.
