@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

It'd look cool if she wore the vest open like in SatAM, but with the tank top underneath.

Ah, I get it now! I wondered why the new design is so drastically different. It's stylized and simplified, sure, but there was something else. She's portrayed fullface now, like in Dulcy episode:

I don't understand what you mean.

In Satam Sally is drawn in 3/4 like 90% of the time. It's when the person is turned in a way to the viewer that you can see 3/4 of the face - both eyes and one ear. Like that:

Spoiler

Sometimes she's portrayed from the side (half-face, in profile), sometimes from the back, but very rarely in full face. I believe such perspective was first used in Dulcy episode (20th out of 26). That one:

However it is used a lot more in comics - in OP's examples more than half of Sally's drawings are done full-face. So whenever I saw a rebooted Sally, there was something else unusual about her, along with slylized appearance.

I can dig the new outfit. But, fuck me drunk... Why must she be drawn with such grotesquely enlarged hands? She looks like a fucking joke. I am not sure who that other character is (haven't followed the comic since... 2008), but I'm assuming he's just a side character? Well, even that dude is drawn with better proportions than ol' Sally.

What the hell went wrong over there? Where's Art Mawhinney when you need him?

The hands were enlarged because many of the female mobians had ridiculously small hands.  There's a few scenes where Sally and Sonic are holding hands and it looks like her hand barely covers one of his fingers.  Mobian hands were just down right weird...

So they generally gave everyone the same hand size.  On one hand it does look a little awkward on some characters but on the other when they interact with objects or each other looks better.

I take it you haven't seen Sonic in quite a while since he too had freakishly-large hands as well. It's part of the modern art-style of the franchise and everyone in SatAM was redesigned to reflect that style.

As for the other dude, that would be Dr. Ellidy. The creator and "father" of Nicole (Sally's handheld computer), whose programming was based after his deceased daughter. It's a sad story.

What the hell went wrong over there? Where's Art Mawhinney when you need him?

Sorry to disappoint you. Mawhinney is still around, but his recent attempts at drawing the modern Sonic style weren't all that spectacular...

Such a same too. The modern style is something he could easily draw, but I guess not.

It wasn't really Archie's decision. Rather it was the result of SEGA mandates and the recent reboot brought forth by a lawsuit involving former-writer, Ken Penders.

Thanks for being so selfish, Penders. Same goes to SEGA and Archie.
