I remember SatAM fans got a pleasant surprise a few years ago when Bunnie appeared in "The Iron Giant Lady" skit in the MAD cartoon. Have you guys spotted any other references to SatAM in comics, cartoons, movies, etc over the years?

Satam References In Popular Media?

It amazed me when I saw that there was a SatAM related question on a Pointless episode (BBC One quiz show) sometime last year.
The question was about favourite food of cartoon characters. They displayed 5 types of food and the initials of the character/s. One of the types of food displayed was Chilli Dog, and initials StH. It was the lowest scoring answer (least people surveyed knew the answer), but I was pleasantly surprised that they referred to one of the less well-known Sonic continuities - and it was around that time that I had finished watching SatAM and was binge-reading Archie Sonic.
(As far as I know, Sonic eats chilli dogs only in SatAM, AoStH, SU and Archie; please, correct me if I am wrong.)

Originally he did, but a few years ago they introduced Chili Dogs to the games. I think it was Sonic and the Black Knight or Sonic Colours? Don't quote me on that though, aside from trying out some of the Game Boy stuff, I haven't kept up with the Sonic games post-Genesis/Mega-Drive. In any case, it's more of a cartoon/comic thing. I imagine him eating Chili Dogs in the games was intended as a wink to fans of the three DIC cartoons and comics. And they referred to Sonic as a cartoon character, not a video game character, so that's pretty cool.

Both Fleetway's StC and "Sonic X" had at least one story/episode depicting Sonic eating a chili-dog (or rather a hot-dog in Fleetway's case, which is close enough). But judging by the situation, I'd say the anime was referencing the AoStH formula rather than SatAM itself.
And recently, Sonic has been shown eating some in the "Sonic Boom" television series, confirming that the character trait is still prevalent after all these years. He's no longer obsessed with them, but they're still his favorite food.

Oh, I see; then it probably wasn't a SatAM reference.

It originated in AoStH and SatAM though, and they're both most famous for it. So I think it counts as a reference to the 90s Sonic cartoons in general.

Also Japan claimed in the original manual that chili dogs are his favorite food.(As far as I know, Sonic eats chilli dogs only in SatAM, AoStH, SU and Archie; please, correct me if I am wrong.)

Wasn't it just fast food in the original manual, not specifically chili dogs?

I don't know about the origional manual, but the manual for one of the Sonic games mentions it, in the Sonic Gems game collection. I want to say it's the Sonic CD manual. But I'm not sure... I'll have to dust off the Gamecube and check.

This pretty clearly references the theme song, if not the show or characters.
