SatAM kinda suffers a bit from being a cult classic amongst not enough people to be a TRUE cult classic... The same is true for a few of my other favorite cartoons. Most of the artists who were really passionate about this type of show years ago, have lost their passion for drawing about them by now. Or they were drawing in the heyday of their artistic days, and are now older with focuses on different things, or have otherwise moved on in life, or have even died. But, since the boxed set is out there, the show's fanbase likely will never die. We may just be in a lull, where the more passionate fans either have kids that're too young to really get the show just yet, or don't yet have have kids to expose the show to. I can tell you that when my brother's kid is old enough to appriciate it, they're getting a copy of the boxed set. ![]()

Sadly, I also am not much of an artist. The only thing I did as of yet is CCN's redrawing.
I wish I could do something more, but I never got used to a pen tablet and anything I've ever drawn in pencil was too hard to convert into a digital lineart to color it in photoshop. It's not like the result is any good anyway. =)

Heh, I never got used to a pen tablet either. And I don't even -have- Photoshop ![]()

Have you tried scanning your pencil-work in as a "black & white image"? I usually have to do a little clean-up work, but it works for me when I'm afraid to mess something up by inking it. Pencil lines haveta be kinda dark tho'; if there isn't enough contrast you'll get broken lines.

Yeah, that's what I used to do. I scanned the drawing, increased brightness in photoshop, then made the lines darker, cleaned everything thoroughly and then colored. So much work and in the end the lineart still makes you wish it was done by graphic tablet.
I've drawn a simple Sally sketch a couple of days ago, but this time I managed to make a decent lineart of it drawing on top of pencil with a tablet. Sadly, when I created a new layer, I forgot to select it, so the lineart was done on the same layer as pencil and I still had to clean it up. At least the lines are ok. Now I need to watch some tutorials on how to color hair and maybe fur, otherwise it'd be only solid colors with some shadows and highlights.

Or maybe you like the practice, I don't know. Get the pencil anyway, it's a good investment for any artist, lol.

Didn't know such thing existed. Fascinating! Thanks for the tip. ![]()
