@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

on*

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

I believe it.  People die in comics all the time.  Heck Peter Parker was confirmed dead forever and he's still come back.

So....is it shocking, yes.  Will I be reading the comic for a while, no.  But still.  It's not surprising.

Yeah I know.

But, you know the comic book rules: You kill off the main character, fans will go after you.

And I'm sure Donnie will come back to life... we'll see.

Peter Parker....aka Spider-Man aka The Face of Marvel.....

Heck Batman died even.  Twice.

So the brains of the team ends up biting the dust. Should've seen that coming. Truth be told, I always thought it would be either Leo, Raph, or Splinter getting killed.

Mostly Splinter. His death would've inspired the turtles to train harder and protect New York and the people they care about as his final request. And probably go after Shredder to avenge him.

Yeah.  Except that is almost the plot of the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie, they'd have to try something new anyways....

The real fucked up thing is you can never take a character's death seriously in comics anymore. Ever.

Cause 3 issues later "Ohh he's alive by this Deus Ex Machina. Carry on everyone"

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Sure you can.

Bruce Wayne's parents and Uncle Ben are still dead.

Well, yes, backstory characters stay dead. People you've seen don't die for real unless they were in only one or two issues.

*cough* Gwen Stacey *cough*

But it is true. People don't stay dead in comics unless fans want them to.

Gwen Stacy died in 1973. Times were different then :P

And of course she's come back every now and then anyway, usually in the form of a clone. Granted, it's always temporary.

Donatello is my favorite Turtle, he has been since I was a little kid. But I'm not upset. For one, he'll likely be back. But even if he's not, good on them for being emotionally realistic about subject matter like death. And also for not cheapening it by bringing him back (*cough* Sally in Archie Sonic *cough*) or killing a nothing character (*cough* Ari in SatAM *cough*.) Thing is, if you're going out and fighting villains every night, eventually you're going to lose someone or be killed yourself. Garth Ennis once said that he didn't consider his MAX run on the Punisher to be "realistic" because while it was more grounded, if the Punisher was a real guy eventually the mob would get him. And probably sooner than later. Many people question why we haven't had a Punisher or Rorschach in real life. The answer is we probably have, but they were whacked within a month. It doesn't matter how smart or well-trained you are, luck and skill only carry you so far. So while I'm a massive Donatello fan. this won't keep me from reading the book. If anything, I applaud the decision. Also, there's so many different versions of Ninja Turtles that even if he stays dead in this one, it's fine. There's another universe where he's alive where I can enjoy the character.
