@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Okay. let's be frank. My entry into Sea3on was less than stellar. Big noses, misshapen faces, floating mouths....There are things that need tweaks and modifications.

So, I've proposed and gotten the green light from Paul and Steve to go back to some of my pages from chapter 5 and clean it up a bit. Use what I've learned from my experience so far to make the pages at least decent in my eyes and some others that were less than impressed when I first came on board.

It won't be HUGE changes, I'm not like redrawing chapter 5. But the characters will have improvements. I'll let you guys know as the pages are modified. This should go pretty quickly, but you never know. xD TO THE SAI FILES! *gallops away*

Edit: Oh, and I should probably make this clear, chapter 6 will continue to be posted every week without delay. Both projects will be going on at the same time.

Honestly, I don't think your style is as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It's definitely not up to par with something like Tracy Yardley or the previous Sea3on artist, but it is unique and identifyable. With a bit more practice, you will most likely find improvement.

If there's one problem I have with your work, it might be the panel sizes and space. Some look like they're too small to fit everything in, while others look a bit more empty. Are the pages you draw a certain size, or is it part of the direction? Just thought I'd ask.

That's not what people are saying about my work presently in chapter 6, that's the comments that were going around when I first came in. Is that how you feel about my work in chapter 6? I'm interested in what you feel I need to improve.

Panels aren't about fitting in a picture, I use panels to tell the story. A panel size is determined by the length and severity of the moment. Longer the panel, longer the moment. I don't get to do it all the time, but I stick as close to that as possible. Perhaps I can find ways to fit more items into the longer panels, but it's all about telling the story.

And yes, the page I draw on is 11X14 and that's decreased to 8.5X11 by the time it's released. The script decides what events unfold on each page, so I have to fit in those moments on that page in a way that tells the story best for you, whether there's a lot or very little, lol. Gojira is a fantastic writer, I do my best to translate his work on the pages.

I guess I'm less used to the current American-style of comicbook formats, in which all the panels are layered atop one another like a cubist painting. Most comics I read tend to go for the more traditional panels-in-a-row look.

I'm not saying he should fallow it. It's just my thoughts on the subject.

True, but Panels DO need to be presented in a way that allows the reader to easily understand them.  As long as the readers can easily understand the reading order, then there is no problem, but don't be encouraged to use fancy or non-linear panels just because it "looks better".

Still wish Ann-Chovie could have helped work on it.
