@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

What's with the vest on Sally?

Me, I'm so used to seeing her with the vest (due to Archie) that she looks weird without it.

Anyway, I think it had less to do with her being "naked" and more to do with having a better color balance. Her dark brown fur and light brown fur complement each other; the blue provides a bit of contrast against it.

Sounds about how I feel.

I would say that the vest holds off on the imagination of the fan artists a little, but in reality it probably only intrigues them more.

Clearly though, since she had no vest in season 1, it couldn't have been a big deal to the creators of the show. I kind of doubt that parents really got into it much considering that many little furry characters in other shows are similarly naked. It's not like she had exaggerated features or anything, just enough to make her look feminine.

Sally looks fine with or without the vest so what difference does it really make?!

I'm another pro vest person myself, but what really grated me about the season one Sally was the lack of pupils. Same for Bunnie.

Next question.

Bunnie with the jumper, or Bunnie without the jumper.

It can go either way, but I prefer the Season 1 designs.

With the VEST!
The vest is cool and I want one. I hated season 1 Because the characters looked crappier and one of the reasons are that sally didn't have a vest

The characters looked crappy?!?

Compare them to the stuff kids today watch on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Jetix.

Let her keep the vesttt... it's practical!

Was just about to say. Everyone needs just a little armor protection.

Yeah, it gives +3 to defense, +1 to evade, and 0 to magdef.

I don't know. I'd say with the vest, it just matched nicely with her, I think.

Well, I guess it was just to add something that matched with her boots :3

I do kinda prefer her with the west too. Don't know why, but before I re-watched the satAm episodes, I did remember her best wearing the west. (Oh that rhymed) The odd thing is that I did remember more things from season 1 than season 2..

i guess i'm just biased but i prefer the princess with a vest. she seems a little more vulnerable without it. besides, she needs to stash nicole and all those gum wrappers somewhere...

Indeed, Sally looked better in Season 1, but I don't think it had very much to do with the addition of the vest.

I think it was just the lazier drawings from Season 2 that did it...

She looks fine, with or without the vest. But for artists who tend to draw her taller, I recommend leaving the vest on.

I think I started watching regularly during the second season. As such, with reruns spaced between the new stuff, I got this sense that sometimes she wore it and sometimes she didn't.

Made the character seem a bit more real to me, personally. I mean, I don't know about anyone else, but I sure don't wear exactly the same shirt day after day.

Now that I know where the season division is, it actually seems a bit weird to me. Why don't they have different clothes sometimes?

Anyway, doesn't make much difference to me. I tend to think of her with the vest, but not always.

Cartoon characters tend to wear the same thing all the time. It's easier on the animators if they don't have to keep track of a cartoon char's wardrobe. One of the Ernest movies parodied this by having Ernest open his closet to reveal severial exact copies of his clothes. Besides, it's not like they stil have clothing shops in SatAM (they kinda all got destroyed or abandoned).

Though I have several similar work shirts and pants (they were on sale), each one is unique in the gease, oil, and paint stains and holes they've accumulated. But, yes, there are people in real life who more or less wear the same thing (often uniforms or other work clothing).

Rosie is probably responsible for everything like their education, clothing, some repairs, cooking, etc.,. early on.

So there's no problem here with stuff being worn out. We all know of the problem of Rosie never being seen again in the series.

I don't think this clothing issue is a big deal to them anyway. I don't see why some of you people are confused about it, but it's still good to talk about.

Edit-I'm confused to, why am I being serious about this?

Well the 'back story' was only Sally finding the vest while going through some old junk, was only about a panel - back when the comic was good.

Oh, and Sally without the vest for me.

No I think it was a lot more than that, something about her mentor giving it to her or something I think. 'twas in one of the early more SatAM like specials I believe- "In Your Face" maybe.

And I'm Pro-vest, I just thinks she looks better with it, she's more clearly defined against a brown-green woody background for one thing.
