This week's episode was entitled "Dr. Eggman's Tomato Sauce", and it's exactly what you would expect from a title like that. Basically, Eggman starts his own brand of food products and markets it to the people of Bygone Island and Sonic suspects him of planting something in the sauce. But much to his and everyone else's surprise, it's not only untainted, but also pretty good. Soon everyone starts buying the products and Eggman becomes a celebrity; complete with dissing Sonic's weariness on Comedy Chimp's talk show. But is he really planning something?
I gotta say, I enjoyed this one. The pacing was nicely done, the action was good, and the jokes themselves were actually funny. My favorite bit being Knuckles' argument with Tails over the deadly disease known as "Brainitis"; Tails claims it doesn't exist, but Knuckles' reply says it all.
In many ways, the episode's plot remined me of that one episode of "Sonic X" where Eggman reprogramed everyone's appliances into enemy robots. A silly idea, for sure, but it works (especially concerning Eggman).

That's something "Eggman" can do that "Robotnik" never really could. He can be a convincing good character. Sure as the audience we all know he's gonna betray everyone or use them all in the end, but the characters in the show/comic/games don't.
Robotnik was too good a villain. There was no doubt he could not be in both the characters and the audiences eyes. But in the games Eggman has on a few occasions teamed up with Sonic so there's a chance his intentions are good.

This week's episode was titled "Sole Power". In it, Sonic's incredible speed is beginning to generate a searing-loud noise which causes everyone to wince in pain. To make everyone happy, Sonic decides not to run anymore. But when Eggman's badniks invade once again, Sonic can only watch the battle from the sidelines, and his friendly advice to his allies only applies to himself. Eventually, Sonic learns that the invasion was an accident and Eggman wants to help Sonic with his problem, so he gives him a special pair of shoes which reduce the nasty ringing. At first, it seems to work, but to nobody's surprise, it turns out to be a trap. Can Sonic get out of this situation?
Once again, another great episode. In fact, this might be one of the best in the series thus far. The situation is unique, Eggman's scheme was actually quite cleaver, and Sonic's solution to the problem proved to be a very smart move. In addition, the jokes were also hilarious.
My favorite lines being, once again, from Knuckles. The bits were the characters remark on Sonic's weird habit of referring himself in the 3rd person were also great. And when you stop and think about it, it's kinda true. Why does he refer to himself in the 3rd person?

I would watch Sonic Boom if the SatAM/Archie characters appear in the new episode. Maybe once or twice. Depends on the producers and the writers though.

I doubt that'll ever happen in the show, considering how uptight SEGA is about certain characters appearing in alternate continuities.
But the series will get an upcoming crossover with the Archie cast in the comicbook tie-in.

I think Sonic Boom is fun so far.

Speaking of repetitive, today's episode was entitled "Hedgehog Day". In this episode, Eggman starts his daily morning routine and attacks Sonic and the gang. But while testing his new weapon, Amy deflects it with her hammer and Eggman tries blocking it with his other weapon. At that precise moment, lightning strikes the blast and resets everything back to morning. Eggman is the only one aware of the anomaly and tries desperately to prevent it from happening; but his every attempt is ruined whenever the timeline resets itself. Can he get himself out of this?
This was a wierd one for me. I couldn't decide if I found it funny or repetitive. There were some really funny moments, such as Eggman's comment of Orbot's A.I., Cubot playing with Eggman's Matrix-esque hologram projector during a montage, and the Hawaiian music playing while the doctor drives his tank out to battle. Sonic's snide comment on Knuckles' intelligence got a chuckle from me (I can almost hear the Knuckles fanbase crying in outrage) and Cubot's sudden reaction to everything being reset (by intentionally dowsing Eggman in water) was priceless. The ending, however, was a bit sudden and it had me scratching my head in confusion.
Overall, a tough episode to rate. But for what it's worth, I'd give it a shot.

The entire episode is a spoof on the movie Groundhog Day, it will make a lot more sense (and be a lot funnier) if you're familiar with it. I'll give the writers credit for their good taste if nothing else, but like you say, the ending was a bit abrupt and takes a few rewatches to make sense. I've noticed that almost all the episodes of this series have serious trouble resolving their own plots before it's time to wrap up.

Isn't a Sonic Boom writer working the on-going comic book now, not just the crossover? I could be wrong, but I think I heard that. I think if the show was going to have SatAM/Archie characters, it would've had them from the beginning, but a TV writer scripting the SatAM cast in the Archie book is a step in the right direction.

Anyway, today's episode was entitled "Sleeping Giant". In it, Sonic and the gang accidentally awaken a slumbering Granifier Giganticus (a prehistoric rock golem), which goes on a rampage to find another place to sleep. They manage to lure it away from the village using Sticks' ear-grating attempt at a lullaby, but Eggman also has his eyes set on the monster and plans on using it to spread destruction and chaos. Will their party succeeded? Or does the behemoth have something else in mind?
I gotta say, this was a funny episode. There were so many jokes in this one, it was hard for me to pick one as my favorite. Once you're done chuckling at one gag, another one is instantly thrown before you have enough time to react.
Also, the Ancients from RoL are mentioned briefly.

This week's episode was entitled "Curse of the Buddy-Buddy Temple". In it, Sonic and friends are in the midst of a scuffle with Eggman in the jungle. The doctor flees into a cave with Sonic in hot pursuit, not knowing that they've just entered an ancient temple designed to make worst enemies into working partners. While they're busy maneuvering through various traps and tests, the rest of the group is busy arguing over who should take charge while Sonic is absent (Orbot and Cubot are just happy to no longer serve Eggman). Eventually, they too find themselves in the temple and are forced to work with their enemies in order to escape the collapsing labyrinth.
This was a unique episode. While not directly funny, it was interesting to see a situation in which both Sonic and Eggman are forced to team up in order to save their own skins (makes me wonder if this experience is how their relationship softened in later episodes). The temple itself had an action/adventure, "Indiana Jones"-like tone which brought back memories of the Lost World level from SA1. This was a direction I wasn't expecting from the show.
It also had its funny moments. The subplot with Sonic's friends arguing over who should be in charge wasn't completely necessary, but it did get some pretty good one-liners from Knuckles. The argument between Eggman and Sonic over which direction they should take was hilarious, and the face which Eggman makes when he has Sonic pull his Eggmobile like a sled-dog had me bursting my sides with laughter.

This episode was... okay. It wasn't bad, but I didn't find it nearly as funny as the last several ones. I dunno, there was something off about it.
But that's not saying there wasn't any funny moments. Knuckles' attempts at making terrible one-liner puns made me chuckle, and Sonic's subtle comment on their weekly-scheduled conflicts with Eggman was also funny. There's also a reference to "Super Mario Bros." and the Konami code during Orbot & Cubot's trek through the matrix. Also, Sonic's excuse for leaving the restaurant table had me in stitches.
But my favorite bit was Orbot's negative reaction to Tails' computer game (an obvious reference to the original "Sonic the Hedgehog" on Genesis/Megadrive), to which he replies "Sounds awful." Sounds like a jab at the fanbase, if you know what I mean.
Also, does anybody find it strange that we just got another digital being to add to the roster of villains, shortly after Phage made her debut in the comics? Sounds awfully suspicious...

In it, Sonic is given a task by Amy to return her book to the library in seven minutes before the warranty expires, and she doesn't want to pay the fee. And as you could've guessed, there are tons of obstacles which block his path and end up stalling him for time (though to be fair, he kinda walks into them on purpose). They include an elderly monkey and wolf, the chief Gogoba's food stand, Sticks' latest alien trap, Fastidious holding up the line at a restaurant, and a pissed-off Eggman waiting to get his order of chili-dogs.
I'm not kidding, this episode had me cracking up throughout the whole run. There were tons of hilarious lines and gags, and even a brilliant double-take. The subplot involving the elderly monkey recalling the time he got a free soda without having to pay for it was entertaining (especially when you find out more about it), as was the scene at Meh Burger with Fastidious' inability to place a proper order (which I can relate to). Eggman's reaction upon realizing Sonic took his order was priceless, and his angry rant about the lack of relish had me splitting my sides. But my favorite bit was this brief exchange between Sonic and Knuckles, when he finds Knuckles reading the missing book:
Sonic: Hand it over.
Knuckles (saddened): But... but... it has pictures...
Oh yeah. And the ending was funny as well. I highly recommend watching this episode.

And he said returning a library book wasn't going to be a problem. Cartoon 101: Things that are simple in the real world aren't so simple on Cartoons.

Yes, in theory Sonic should be able to return a library book in time. Of course things are going to happen to make it difficult.

This was an entertaining episode. The jokes were funny and the pacing was surprisingly well-done for a fifteen minute episode. The interactions between Sonic and Knuckles were priceless (Sonic being the cocky, over-confident leader and Knuckles' cowardliness), as were the interactions between Amy and Sticks (Sticks' feral survivor skills vs. Amy's slower, domestic approach). And the bit involving the rabbit and moose had me in stitches with laughter.
Strangely enough, Tails hardly appeared during the episode (having only a few lines of dialogue), and Eggman only made a brief cameo appearance towards the end.
Overall, another good episode.

I've learned something from this episode:
Never underestimate a pair of girls, and Eggman thinks missiles are toys. Then again, Eggman is a mad scientist, so...

While the english version has gone on hold in terms of new episodes for the summer, the same can't be said about the french version. I was browsing youtube today looking for something to watch during lunch and I found this guy's channel:
https://www.youtube....user/1212rayman
He has episodes 27-36(except for episodes 29 and 30) up on his channel with english subtitles.
