@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Here's an idea I think we can have some fun with.

Background: The year is 2030 AD. Earth's scientists have been studying various Earth-like planets as best they can from this corner of space. A new initiative has begun. Various companies have been contracted to build fully autonomous robots to explore one such world. Dubbed "Earth 2" by the media, for its striking similarities to our own planet, it is a source of great interest. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to create a RP as one of these robots.

The character form is as follows:

Name:

Model:

Company:

Country of Origin:

Roll:

Personality:

Physical Description:

Tools:

Armament (optional):

Etc.:

Rules:

1a: 1 post per turn. So, make sure you've posted everything you want to post.

1b: Also, please keep post lengths to no more than what would fit within 5 minutes of action and/or dialoge.

1c: If you want to talk and move at the same time, you have to post that. Otherwise, I will assume you've stopped moving to talk.

2: No sex-bots or anything related to sex or romance. It has no place in this RPG.

3: Limit 1 robot per company. If someone has registered a robot from Company A, no one else may register a robot from Company A. And so on. We may, however, have multiple robots from the same country. Companies may be real or made up.

4: Armaments are optional, but suggested. Combat is not the focus of the RPG, but the nature of Earth 2 means that you can and probly will run into at least hostile life forms. Not to mention whatever motives the companies may have to distrust one-another.

5: Personalities, rolls, and designs may vary however you wish, so long as they don't interfere with Rule 2.

Name: King

Model: KNG-7S

Company: Lockheed-Martin

Country of Origin: USA

Roll: Exobiological and technological examination.

Personality: Male AI. Though intended for semi-stealthy observation, King has an alternate Combat Mode programmed in, to ensure that he can defend himself and take out potential threats. He is not typically confrontational, and willl be willing to work with others, so long as they don't crowd him or hinder his mission. His prime directive is the examnination of alien life forms and technology, and he will not allow anything to stand in his way.

Physical Description: A sleek, black robotic scorpion. Roughly 3 ft tall at normal stance, not including tail. Tail arch adds 2 feet, and standing with legs fully extended adds another foot. 8 walking legs. 2 larger grabbing claws with 4 fingers in a circular arrangement, in place of what would be regular scorpion claws. 2 smaller grabbing claws of the same design in place of a scorpion's chelicerae (mouth parts), set on extendable tenticles, with power-tool attachments in the "palms". A set of 5 robotic eyes sits above these, along with one eye spaced between the claws and forelegs, one between each leg, and 2 between the hind legs an tail, on each side. These eyes are prodominatly black, but may change colors during active scanning modes. For extensively thourough scans, these eyes project red beams of light. Each foot consists of a 3-toed claw that can grip most surfaces. The tail contains 13 segments and houses a prymidal 13-inch spike. This spike houses a very powerful weapons grade laser. King's design allows him to run at speeds close to 30mph, and to jump up to 10 ft vertically. His normal walking pace is slighly faster than the average human's walking pace. His armor consists of a classified material, which is surprisingly lightweight and extremely durable. He is capable of swimming at speeds up to 10 mph.

Tools: A full array of medical grade bioscanning hardware. Full compliment of drill and driver bits, to help with the removal of any service hatches he may encounter. A reconfigurable adaptor tenticle housed in each of the main claws, intended to allow King to attempt to interface with alien tech.

Armament: Weapons-grade cutting laser. Capable of slicing through most metals like a conventonal cutting laser through butter. Tail spike, tail, and claws may be used for melee weapons.

Etc.: King's default voice is reminscent of the Golioth entity from the movie Virus (deep, with slight reverberation and hints of multiple voice patterns at once), but his vocal sythesizer is capable of imitating any sound or voice he chooses.

Projection: If Intruder Organsim reaches civilized areas...

Entire world population infected 2,7000 hours from first contact.
