I was under the impression the validation thread would be the same thing as a welcome thread but it's not here, so here's my welcome thread, hello!
You may call me by Green or my real name, Harry, as you wish, but I think either would be preferable to having to type out my full username every time, right? I hail from England and I'm 20 years old and have been a Sonic fan most of my life. I got started with Sonic 2 on the Mega Drive/Genesis but my favourite game is Sonic CD, without a doubt, I loved the slightly darker tone and it had the best Metal Sonic design, in my opinion, which is Hyper Metal Sonic if we are to go by what the, uh, movie/OVA/whichever name you'd like called him. Tails is my favourite character in the whole franchise, bar none. I always liked him, since I was a kid,I don't really have an especially deep answer as to why, I've just always liked him more.
I'm a huge fan of games and animation in general and Sonic is one of the few things that lives in all of my favourite media with the shows, games, comics and such. I loved SatAM as a kid, growing up and up until I was about 15 I used to always watch the re-runs whenever they'd come on TV. I was also kind of a fan of Underground, more so as I grew older. The music could be kinda dumb but I kind of liked the idea of it and quite a few of the characters. I never really got into AoSTH though and X was uninteresting to me. I'm sort of indifferent to Boom, but I'll watch it when it comes out, give it a fair shot.
I'm a follower of the Archie comics, I kind of miss the old continuity, but you know, the new one doesn't seem bad so far, just not as good. I miss Penders' characters, honestly, I thought a lot of them were interesting and some of my personal favourite stories are the Knuckles or other Echidna themed ones and 25 Years Later.
Sonic and some other game franchises pretty much shaped most of my interests through my life. Since seeing the cartoon, I used to draw little Sonic drawings and comics for years and that's how I developed and became interested in art pretty much and Sonic along with many other classic game characters like Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon shaped my love for games and it's because of these things my biggest ambitions in life are to become an artist of some capacity or a game dev. It's a shame out of the three, only Sonic is really around. I guess Spyro has Skylanders but, you know, I don't know if I want to count that.
Sorry about the wall of text, I have a problem with rambling on about stuff, but regardless, greetings to you all! I hope to enjoy my time here.
