Bill Watterson Returns... Sorta

It's all kinda surreal. I wouldn't expect Pearls of all strips to be Bill's cup of tea (it can be pretty funny, but it's definitely lacking in the art department). But I guess it happened regardless. Who'da thunk it?

KICKS.
ASS.
Pearls is my favorite comic strip other than Bloom County, and Calvin and Hobbes is easily in my top 5.
I didn't even recognize the art at first, but the news was mind-blowing.

"Everyone creates the thing that they dread. Men of peace create engines of war. Invaders create Avengers. People create... smaller people...? CHILDREN! (chuckles) Lost the word there..."

I didn't even realize it was him until now....it's amazing to see that he still has what it takes to be a cartoonist

That explains the last strip that came out today. It was practically a shout out to the final C&S strip!

I'd never heard of, much less read, Pearls Before Swine before looking at this, but that was pretty interesting. Much as I love Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes remains far and away my favorite comic strip. It's one of those wonderful works that is instantly immensely appealing as a child, yet only gets better as one ages.
