Knowing how long this forum and community has been here, I'm not sure if this has been brought up in the past..... Lets do it, to it!
Alright so in episode 2 "Sonic Boom" we got to meet a new character that only showed in that episode.
Who went by the name of Cat. Now even though he was only in this one episode, from my childhood to now his character just seem to rub me the wrong way. Like he was up to no good. Just look at his facial expressions, not to mention after this episode things start to take a turn for the worst. Its as if foreshadowing was being shown through his possible traitor expressions. I Dont know maybe its just me with that thinking on it, but its theory so there's my two cents. Let me know what you other FUSers think, or tell me its just me and nothing was off about Cat's character. Either way.... Yaaay another topic by me.

The poor guy sacrificed himself to torture and eventual roboticization in order to draw attention away from Sally and Antoine. He also conversed with Robotnik in a secure environment, where any traitorous elements to his character would have been exposed. Your opinion strikes me as wholly unfounded.
Minor character though he is, I actually think Cat has a lot of potential. I've seen him characterized in fan works as a mentor to the other Freedom Fighters, which makes sense given that, in the original pre-Blast to the Past timeline, there were no other adults (with speaking roles, at least) shown living in Knothole besides Rosie, who was captured early on. Placing him in this role opens up a wide array of possibilities for character development, with the added benefit of making his sacrifice in the actual show far more poignant. It's something I plan on eventually exploring in my own writings.

I always thought if things were different, Cat and Rosie might of ended up together.
Personally I always thought Cat was going to turn up later, either roboticized, having escaped, mind controlled, something. Like he's that character they set up for you to forget exists and then suddenly he's back.
Also...while I can see his expression might make you think he might be a badguy...his other actions like warning Sonic where Sally is, and his refusal to talk to Robotnik show he was on their side.
Though that doesn't say he didn't talk after torture.

I didn't really like that episode, mostly cuz I don't like Moby Dick, however I do like how it was portrayed and written.
Also Interesting enough the character of Decker is the father of Will Decker in the First Star Trek Movie.

You can hear a little of his "Uncle Chuck" in that clip too. He probably didn't change his voice much in Sonic Sat a.m. expect in robot mode.

The show had a few kinda weirded out facial expressions at times, I wouldn't look to much into it. I kinda thought it was meant to be a defiant grimace.
So ironic a Star Trek actor ended up a 'redshirt' on Satam.

I always thought of his expressions as more of a old-timer, grizzled appearance, a la Popeye or something.
I suspect Cat eventually talked, revealing a bit about the Freedom Fighters, but since Robotnik never finds his way to Knothole, I believe he took that secret to his grave. I can't imagine that, if he were roboticized and resisted to give the location, that he would be allowed to survive under the dictator's control.
Good job, Cat.
I love my God, my wife, my 5 kids, and I like my guns, my beer, my whiskey, and my pickup.
I dislike politicians, policemen, diet foods, no-smoking signs, and mowing the lawn.
I like Sonic games from the Genesis days, tolerate the Sonic Adventure series, can stomach Sonic Heroes, and can't stand the rest.
And there is only one true story of Sonic, SatAM.
