"Everyone creates the thing that they dread. Men of peace create engines of war. Invaders create Avengers. People create... smaller people...? CHILDREN! (chuckles) Lost the word there..."

Really guys? It was just one guy's opinion on the demo. Wait until everyone else gives a review and see just how well it fares.
I mean, most other game reviewers gave it mixed-to-positive reviews. If anything, the overall game itself might not be "great", but good/average. We shouldn't give up hope just yet.
I myself have been seeing mixed- to negative reviews

meh. I usually like to give it a try myself. I stop caring about online reviews when they keep giving shit like call of duty good reviews even though the game is garbage
to quote james rolfe ' it's better to see it for yourself and give your own opinion'

So it appears that the 3DS one and the Wii U feature different stories. It also appears that the 3DS one will play more like a Sonic game while the Wii U will play more like and action/adventure beat-em-up.
Also Amy plays the lovely role of being kidnapped by the villain in the 3DS.

Is this really shocking?

There's a good reason for this. Amy in Boom is an archiologist. Lyric kindaps her, to make her find...Also Amy plays the lovely role of being kidnapped by the villain in the 3DS.
Is this really shocking?

So SEGA's revealed a lot of the side characters for both the game and TV show. Since it's predominantly for the video game, I reasoned the video game topic was the better choice to share it.
I find some of them interesting, but I sure hope they don't carry on the trend of stereotypes.
(Somewhat off topic but if I may make the suggestion... might it be possible to create a Sonic Boom sub-forum? Since it's a multimedia project that spans games, cartoons, comic books, and merchandise, it might merit its own subforum, especially given all of them are connected in terms of plot)

....either there is a hub world...or there are too many minor characters in Boom. They feel more at home in the show than the game.

As I recall, indeeeed there is!
Boom's going for the Sony platformer sort of feel, so an open world to explore between the actual levels is pretty much a given.

That makes more sense

I've only played the demo, but it's a mess. Each level is like as seperate Metroidvania game, and it's annyoing, and there's this stupid chase scene and UGH.
The Wii U Version looks okay. It's pretty much just a Lego game.

The dialogue either seems forced or necessary. Especially when they comment on just about everything

Like many Sonic Games it falls short of anything but okay...

The reviews range from "decent in it's own way" to "OMFG THEY DID SONIC 06 ALL OVER AGAIN"

I mean, from what I can tell, the game isn't great. But it's definitely not bad. The gameplay is playable, the animation and voice acting is decent, and the environments are vibrant and colorful; so that automatically makes it better than '06. That's not to say it's perfect, but in the overall comparison, it's nowhere near as bad as most whiny fanbrats make it out to be.
If anything, it'll probably be the next "Unleashed" and "Hereos" in terms of overall reception.

The reviews range from "decent in it's own way" to "OMFG THEY DID SONIC 06 ALL OVER AGAIN"
the latter being all the fans who have given up on the series a long time ago and just wants to see it burn.
Something tells me this game's reception is gonna be really mixed.

So far the 2 reviews i have seen rank it 4/10 and 6/10.
Gameplay is decent, animation is ehh, its almost PS2-like, the VA is okay but some of the dialogue seems forced or unnecessary. The environments are pretty cool.
The fanbrats want to see Sonic in their own way, which would be bad because their "ideal" game is usually worse than what we get
