Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

So, on twitter, Ken Penders suddenly dropped a bomb. He claims that had SatAM gone to to have a 3rd season, he and a guy called Mike Kanterovich were going to write an episode.

penders_tweet_by_shockblast13-d772j1l.pn

So it's the best part of 19 years since SatAM was cancelled, We've had the likes of Ben Hurst reveal some plans for what would have happened in season 3, yet I don't recall a single time when Hurst mentioned that Penders was going to write for the season.

So is Penders telling the truth, or is the man just talking utter bullshit again? We know that Hurst said that the 3rd season was only mapped out in notes and was never really expanded upon beyond that at the time when the show was cancelled.

Plus if we look at IMDB, there's no Mike Kanterovich on there and there's one Ken Penders on there who has no writing credits at all. I highly doubt that DiC would just okay a TV/animation script from some random guys who weren't on staff at their studio for a show that hadn't even been confirmed for it's 3rd season.

So what do you guys think?

Horse shit.

He's just trying to get people to be on his side. Plus he's capitalizing on the fact that Hurst is dead and cant call him out on this

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Save for the fact Hurst already did before.

Penders claimed Hurst considered his previous works as the true successor of SatAM, but Hurst said he gave no such permissions and never saw the comics as SatAM 2.

There is probably some truth to it, but we can only guess how much considering Ken's track record. I don't think Ken is making it up from whole cloth; I don't think we've ever caught him telling blatant lies. But the man does have a way of, shall we say, stretching the truth. Possibly more out of delusion than malice, though...

My guess is Ken was in talks with the show's producer. Nothing is set in stone until a contract is signed (and sometimes not even then), though, and I strongly doubt one had been.

It's not unusual for a TV show to take on freelancers, so I think Ken writing for the show was well within the realm of possibility. It just wasn't a sure bet.

Penders reminds me of a younger sibling that wants to play with the big kids, but never really got to. He thinks he's of more significance than he really ever was.

Funny. We would have seen his characters, then. On the other hand, he's probably lying. It's sad that the only thing good about him is his characters, though that depends on your perspective.

Why do you think he's lying? As I said, have we ever caught him making things up out of whole cloth?

I would say he is lying just to get people on his side ( that's my opinion) ,but we won't know since Ben is long gone..

i read your question twice now kef. I answer is we won't know since ben is not with the living so we don't know if it's true or not unless there was someone at ABC in the time of the show or one of the staff on satam to shed light about it.

for now i'm sticking to he's lying out of his teeth unless i see proof that he was truthful

Well you also have to remember all the guys involved with SatAM are either dead, didnt know much as Ben Hurst, or has no memory.

I can partially believe Penders cause his career was starting at that time but i HIGHLY doubt he would have. Who's to say if season 3 happened, he wrote an episode and then attempted to try to become the Head writer for this?

'kef i can understand what you're saying but look at Penders track record.

Hurst also said only ideas were ever written, no episodes. Penders probably had been talked to as the farthest he got to writing it.

Ken is so full of fucking shit. The comic wasn't even around during the shows run, and he is no tv writer.

Half wrong there Shadow. The comic started in early 1993, about 8 or 9 months before SatAM aired, but the comic was based around early concepts for the show.

But you are correct, he isn't a TV writer.

Yes, a track record that consists of distortions of the truth, not outright lies, as I have been saying. :P

*Stands up and out from the angry crowd.*

Kef is right...

*The crowd goes silent.*

*Fireworks burst into colorful light as the band plays* (I decided this being done by Candians would be a nicely inclusive backdrop for my message to such a diverse fandom xD).

The greatest form of a lie is a clever distortion of the truth. Convincing lies are the most tricky and the most toxic, a filth hard to scrub out and up to thesurface, like dog-crap smeared in a carpet. Kef is right to say Pender's lies are not bumblingly wholesale; it would indeed be an underestimation of his fiendishly sociopathic, skitzofrenic trackrecord to say as such... Pender's actions are quick to reminds us of the troubled people on the show Horders: Buried Alive, they will do anything to scheme up a wily narrative that favors and rationalizes their destructive actions, immoral behavior, and egocentric biases.

I think Kef is just calling for some discernment (a very applicative life lesson, by the way). We can't just villify people we don't like! We have to call them into question accurately and communicate our charges against them crisply, and above all honestly. Remember the OJ Simpson trial? Talk about a backfire...and a good lessson for us all. Let's prosecute properly - sources your suspicions! - to make our case credible to the incredualized and to repell our enemy, this hack, this devil, this fiend, this human being like you and me that we shouldn't entirely dehumanize for our ends lest we be just like him, from conniving and conning out any ground and sympathy in our precious fandom. Be wise in your war against Penderism and it's poisonous perversions against our beloved Blue Blur.

Okay....now you're just being silly.

Regardless of the truth to Penders's claim what good does it actually do him?  Nothing.  There's no Season 3 thus the possibility he could of written an episode is the only glory he can get here.  It's an attempt to save face and convince fans that while Archie Comics is "ruining" SatAM, he was qualified to continue it so we should all jump on board his comic.

However even if Penders was to write an episode, what good is it now?  And even then nobody said the episode would have been any good so once again all he's done is gained some self-inflicted glory and our attention for another few megabytes.

Thanks for explaining the funny out of my satire, Red. :/

But the prior delibertly  hammy speech is getting to the point you just made. We should be discerning and mature about his attention-grabbing and his desperate bid to influence the fandom. The more he acts like this, the more we should act the other way, dismissal, apathetic, and cool-headed, instead of overreactionary, villifying, and antagonistic. It will only fan the flames.

And I'm with you...it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, unless we make it so. The more you stir up crap, the more it stinks.
