Actually I have chided some very, very liberal people for hating on this commercial...The true issue is over the contention of pluralism and multiculturalism, not conservatism, which is too latitudinarian a term to use in this context understanding the social contentions behind this commercial: the original post is a classic straw man fallacy, most likely to vindicate the opposing party via the general accusation. For one I am very conservative, but what I conserve to is different than what another conservative might conserve thereto. As a Protestant Christian I adhere to Acts 17:26:
"[God] hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation..."
I believe we are of one blood. And when I saw this commercial I had happy tears. To me this was a company championing my worldview .
And for one you are generalizing...which is the very fallacy that breeds misunderstanding of others social, philosophical, and spiritual meta-narratives, which breeds dehumanization . You have committed the very same misdeed... I would argue that it's the distancing away from such standards as I have given above that is the ruination of our tolerance and acceptance of others. And that drawing lines in the sand is bad on either side of the line, including the accusers.
"You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." -Matthew 7:5.
We have a saying where I'm from: The more you stir up crap the more it stinks. You are being part of the problem - not the solution... Either you try to promote intercultural understanding or you make childish posts like this and spill salt in the open wounds of everyone.
