Sonic: "Look! Something is breaking through the fake sky!"

That has to be the weirdest line I've ever heard. Makes roll my eyes in laughter at how they turned a simple city like Station Square into a needlessly complicated plot-device. They could've easily made it an isolated human colony separated from the Overlander/Mobian conflicts; why make it an underground city hidden for thousands of years?

I remember seeing that Archives 22 was supposed to be out earlier than what they have, but I guess because of the whole Penders debacle they had to delay it a bit

Hell if I know, they made it seem like the world was only inhabited by Mobians and not Humans? At least that's what I'm seeing, because apparently the writers weren't given enough wiggle room in order to do so. I never got the whole Overlander thing to begin with, I mean I do but they should have just stuck with calling them humans in the first place, would have made things A LOT easier in the long run. Overlander is a pretty cool term though. I don't know too much behind the scenes on that era of the comic but The Sonic Adventure Story Arc was a Sega Mandate in order to promote the new game and everyone rushed the whole thing in order to be done, apparently they got an import copy or Spaz bought one and played through it in order to get the story down, they had to translate it too from what I've heard. Not to mention that EVERYONE had to drop all their planned story arcs (with The Super Special Knuckles: 20 Years Later included) and stuff in order to make this arc, so it's safe to say people weren't happy making it when they started.

 

Also, super excited for #260, SHARK Mobians!!!!!

 

I gotta admit I am quite excited for that, makes me wonder what other type of Sea Mobians there are, Orcas and Whales must be Titans or something. Also I SO called the story arc basically being Sonic Unleashed, but that's no surprise there considering how this was all going. I will pay for them to make Ecco The Dolphin into a Mobian, no joke.

To add continuity why it was never seen before.  As an idea it wasn't bad...it just leaves a few other plotholes to think about.

1) the issue before is still part of the arc there just haven't been any confirmation that this one is or isn't.
2) I'm not sure what you mean by brushing characters off. If you mean the Penders characters that's already happened and your beating a dead horse. If you mean something else please explain.
