@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Be respectful of others' opinions.

Red he ISN'T. Plain and simple.

He has an Encyclopedia Dramatica page basically showing that he has been disrespectful to fans who have different views of him.

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

I have no problems with letting him have his own opinion.

It's when he starts condemning other people for believing differently that a problem arises.

Same thought process.

If he was simply stating his opinion, no problem. But when he condemns other opinions that dont go along the lines with his then thats when the problem begins

Well seeing as that is past us, I will now put in my actual two cents on this discussion.

I'm not really sure if it's been a good year or a bad year for him. On the one hand, the crap with Penders and Archie has dealt a heavy blow, and the games haven't done stellar (though I personally thought they were passable).

On the other hand, even if it is a bad year, Sonic has certainly had far worse in the past.

i think '06 was and no matter what will always be Sonic's worst year.

Well how about this. How about instead of attacking me, why not try to say how this year has been a good one?

Be respectful of others' opinions.

Red he ISN'T. Plain and simple.

He has an Encyclopedia Dramatica page basically showing that he has been disrespectful to fans who have different views of him.

Well you know, they also say the holocaust never happened, and you're trusting them???

And what about what these people do to people who disagree with THEM? Ever think about that? This is what I was referring to as "people who have done things FAR worse than what I did."

Also the guy who made that was illegally filing copyright infringement claims against people just so he can get their personal information in order to do Lord knows what. I think he's behind bars now.

Plus, my haters always have a habit of omitting several key pieces of information to make themselves correct. (Example: I'm not trying to create a crossover between Command and Conquer and Sonic, it was a MOD. In my posts on the EA forums I was not trying to COMBINE the two stories, I was trying to COMPARE the two.)

But enough about that. You disagree with me about why things are good or bad this year. Instead of saying "You're mean to people!" why not have a healthy debate and say WHY things are the way they are? I'm giving you a chance to explain YOUR opinion here. Is that not generous?

Also, when I said there are too many who allow too much to be shoveled down their throat, I was not trying to refer to anyone here.

You know, for some reason I have the feeling this conversation would go a lot smoother if it were in person. I just cannot help but feel that sometimes our fanbase is on the same level of that of Justin Beiber and Twilight, and that it does NOT have to be that way. Now again, I'm sorry if people thought I was referring to anyone here, but that was not my intent.

Let's just step back, take a deep breath, and start over.

Now tell me why you believe that this year was a GOOD one.

One more thing. This is my ACTUAL plan.

Is this really such a bad thing? Even if I don't respect your opinions at least this way you cans till have them.

*Steps over the vitrolic mess.*

So far this year looks promising. And that's what should concern us...

For one the Comic is out of  Pender's Gnoose. Reading through Count Down to Chaos gave me some more hope (Gosh, getting rid of the multi-verse was  brilliant for stream-lining, though a savage idea with in universe....Eggman commited the greatest form of Genocide ever. Hitler would blush. This guy has done what not even Davros and Owlman could manage to do; if Sonic doesn't snap his neck the first chance he gets...it just looks really off now.).

Thoughts on this year to come?

Well (as of right now) the comic (and maybe SSB4 but that doesnt really count) is the only thing due this year for Sonic. Maybe a spin off

It will be a good year for Sega to plan out the next game and Dont screw it up

Moving on, yes I actually am moving on, I'm not sure about 2014. I'm extremely suspicious of this "we're going in a new direction" claim. It's been used before, and look what happened.

You know what the funny thing is? I once believed it. There actually was a time when I was looking FORWARD to Sonic X. But after seeing how poorly voiced, animated, and written the series was after the first season I said to myself "screw it, I'm done".

And also there was a time when I was thinking Sonic Next Gen was going to be a GOOD game, but I decided to see what the reviewers said first learning my lesson the hard way after Sonic Heroes. And BOY did I really dodge a bullet there.

And now after seeing what is happening to the comics, the whole plot feels like some sort of hybrid between Sonic X and Sonic Next Gen. Think about it, all the retcons and being trapped in a new universe.

So I think you can see why I am suspicious of this "new direction" claim. Those who do not study from the mistakes of the past are doomed to repeat them.

Depends on how you view it.

I liked Sonic Heroes, even more than I like the original Sonic the Hedgehog.  In fact Sonic Heroes plays more like the original games than Adventure does.  So I don't count that as a past failure.

Shadow the Hedgehog Maybe.

Sonic 06 Definitely.

Heroes?  Hardly.

Shadow the Hedgehog Maybe.
Sonic 06 Definitely.

Heroes? Hardly.

I think a lot of people give Hero's a bad wrap due to the inconstancy of quality among platforms (it was their first time doing this correct?). The PS2 version was incredibly buggy. Jirard Khalel did an in depth review of the game that explains the disparateness of opinion as well.

Your Heros was not the other guys Heros, I guess. Or it could be also a silly bandwagon thing.

I think we're fine for this year. The fandom side also excites me. That seems to be churning out some interesting stuff.
