@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Your supreme commander Lord Palpatine here.

Bow down before me!

Ah yes...a writer's weapon...the infamy known as "Sonic The Hedgehog", considering itself the "World's Most Way Past Cool Comic!". Even now, it steers closer to the dark side....yesss. Anyway, I suppose I should review it...

Sonic The Hedgehog#186
Writer:Ian Flynn
Layouts:Tracy Yardley!
Pencils:Matt Herms
Inks:Jim Amash
Letters:John Workman
Colors:Josh Ray

We begin as my servants, the Fearsome Foursome Minus One, contend with that light side furball Sonic The Hedgehog. What, they're not? Oh...well, no matter. Well, if they won't be my servants, then...they...shall...die. No? Oh damn.
In any event.

That pitiful band tries to outdo Sonic but to no avail, taking off to places unseen. Sonic and Ash make for the prison to demand to Mogul where the hell that band went off to. Gloating like the dark side wannabe he is, Mogul snides that he is willing to trade in exchange for information on the whereabouts of Sonic's friends....basically, one emerald for three friends.

If Sonic fails to trade...

Tails will run out of air

Mina will drown.

Mighty will be Robotnik's property.

Ohh, how the tables have turned. Go now dear reader...I am defenseless. Strike me down with your "x" button and your journey towards the dark side will be complete! Or, you could just keep reading this...I guess.

To be short and sweet, Sonic trades the one chaos emerald he borrowed from Fiest and Mogul, with enough power, breaks loose. However, he announces a "brief retirement", realizing that the fates have ensured that victory will never be Mogul's so long as Sonic lives. He frees his other cell mates, and they leave....Sonic clueless.

What'd I think: One page of is much better than this story. But, if you want a numerical score...4/10 because I divide it half up for art and story. The art was decent enough to earn a 4 but the story itself was lame.

Ahhh yes, another story from the old Sith legend of Knuerjak...what did I just say?

Second Story:
Honor-Bound
By Ian Flynn, Tracy Yardley, Jim Amash, Josh Ray, and Teresa Davidson

Knux flies over Albion, angsting over how responsible he is for everything. Remington is leading the rebuilding, trying to keep morale high. Knux narrowly tries to avoid his Mother's sight but disappears before saying hello. Next, he visits Sandopolis Oasis to see how the Dingoes are doing.

Knux apologizes to Von Stryker, who has reassumed command of his forces.
Apologizes for everything he did as Enerjak and accepts. The two leave on an emotional note. Rouge, an ancient evil, stalks the echidna and talks to him, convincing him to keep fighting the fight below. Knux thanks her and goes out to tell everyone else, while Rouge smirks about how she has Knux wrapped right around her finger.

What'd I think?:THIS is more like it. This story actually has a good balance of head and heart. Sometimes, sitting around and talking is all a good story needs and this works. The conversation with Von Stryker was great. For once, I'll give Ian a pass.

4/5 for story 4/5 for art add em' up 8 out of 10

Sonic-Grams:
YES, it's back finally. Two letters from Jennifer O.C. of Texas and Alex C. of South Carolina. As usual, that pitiful editor makes his quips about shameless plugs and the likes. He would make a good apprentice...

Fan-Art:
One s'okay art from J.J. Bedgood. 6/10

OVERALL:11/20 It's average at best.

Now that you have completed your training (by reading through this book), you have completed your training, my new apprentice. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth (insert your name here). Now go forth, and spread your opinions! HISSSS!!

I think I'll reserve my judgements for the second story. But I never liked the main story, and from reading the main points of the review, I can't see that it came with any interesting twists of sorts. Kinda flat.

Got it in the mail yesterday and I liked it. My only complaint is that it seemed too quick, and there's another part where I felt that the dialogue was a bit awkward.

Let's see, I enjoyed the artwork and Ash's role. Knuckles story wasn't too bad either, and I'm interested in what Rouge is planning.
And I'm so glad for Sonic Grams return. Totally missed seeing that thing.

Matt Herms being doing the art alone is reason enough for those 4 points. And agrred ont he talking thing. Ian needs to get this thing out of his head that the only stories that can be written involve "all action, all the time". I used to be a subscriber to Spiderman (prior to the One More Day Fiasco) and some of my favorite issues were the ones in which Peter never once fought anybody over even donned the red and blue tights during the entire issue. Sonic in its current state has next to no character development because the characters are too busy running around, fighting, and making bad one liners to even have time to do much of anything else.

Sonic 186 discussion:

From reading the 186th issiue that I got today in the mail, from what I have seen and read, it becomes apparent that Ian is setting up for something big.

What I mean is the fact that Ian has someone like Mogul win, but at the sametime, addmit that as long as Sonic and Co. are around, he will never truly win and defeat him, so instead he decides to wait him out with a message that even though he may not defeat Sonic, that in return Sonic and his children and grandkids that come from Sonic will never know peace, and that is because of Sonic and Ash getting him the chaos emerald in order to save their friends from running out of oxygen, drowning in the middle of the ocean or being captured by Eggman's Dark Egg Legion.

The one thing that I did find istresting was the fact that Nicole addmitted that with Mogul loose she can't control or fight againest that kind of power, which is examplfied by Mogul snapping his fingers to teleport her away from the detention center.

Basically, overall we have Mogul with a coslation victory, the villians being freed by Mogul and Mina, Tails and Mighty feeling awful for what they allowed Mogul to do them.

But Sonic reassures them that even though Mogul won this day, that in truth, he and the baddies he help release are the real ones running scared, and that when they meet up again, as they done in the past, they will defeat them.

Overall, not a bad story, could have been a little better, still not bad, I give 5.5/10

The Back story:

What we have here is the story we were all hoping for with a bit of twist at the end. You see out of all the characters you expect to talk some sense into Knuckles, that last one you expect is Rouge, but yep she is the one that turns him around and makes him realize that despite the fact that even if he was on the Island or not, he couldn't pedict what Finitevus was planning or pervent Eggman from possibly coming in and destorying everything in his path.

What Rouge is basically telling Rad Red, is that hiding on the island is a show of couwardice and that it would disgrace his father's sacrifice.

But since he now possess the warp ring technogly that he now wears on his wrist, that he can now keep on eye on the island and the master emerald as well as be able to contuine to help friends fight the battle againest the likes of Eggman, Finitevus and Mogul. In which Knuckles realizes that Rouge is right and goes to rejoin his friends. But as we seen at the end, there appears to be more to Rouge helping him then meets the common eye.

Overall, the back story is a nice little way to wrap what's left of the Enerjak story, for now that is. I give it a 7/10.
