Sonic Underground grew on me, even though it had some stupid decisions behind it, like the songs, character designs, or having Sonia voiced by Urkel. It had some nice stories, I liked Sonia and Manic, and Bartleby was close enough to Antoine to get my attention. (I swear I would love Satan himself if he had a uniform and a bad french accent)
I bought Sonic the Movie, watched it once and then forgot about it. There are a couple points I remember liking, such as Sera playing games with Eggman, Tails being afraid of lightning, Knuckles' hat and Metal Sonic. I can't remember if Metal Sonic's death scene was kept in the dub or not, but it was pretty well done.
I've never seen Sonic X actually. I was never really interested in the whole Sonic Adventure universe, even though there were cute characters like Rouge and Cream. Shadow was just boring IMHO. It's certainly the prettiest looking but I just can't seem to care enough to watch it.
So I uh.. don't have a vote I guess. I like bits and pieces of the ones I've seen, with AoSth being my favorite, and obviously I love Satam more than all of them put together.

Why I consider Sonic X the worst, well it was just really dry. Unlike DiC's Sonic cartoons, Sonic X didn't pull me in... I forced myself to watch every episode just to say I did, and eventually it just became background noise while I was doing more important things. Some fans argue that the Metarex story arc was an improvement, but in my opinion it was even worse. Sonic in space fighting giant mech aliens... okay am I the only one that sees something wrong with this picture? At least the first two seasons, as dull as they were, were usually classic Sonic versus Doctor Robot- I'm sorry, "Eggman" and thus had some relevance to Sonic's origins. As for Chris, I didn't find him as annoying as some people, though; I did feel that Sonic didn't get enough screen time. Sonic usually popped up at the last minute to save the day, so the show felt less about him, and more about the rest of the cast since he spent most of his time taking naps in trees.
Sonic X had a lot of potential, but it ended up being the combined essence of everything that's wrong with Sonic today in my humble opinion. Maybe I just don't appreciate SegaSonic since SatAM and Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog are what got me into the games in the first place, but regardless Sonic X just didn't do it for me.

Sonic X: Sure I enjoyed it because it was a Sonic cartoon. However even though it lasted longer than all the other cartoons, the last season kinda repeated the events of Sonic NextGen (kinda) by introducing new characters that were completely unnecessary.
The Good: Sonic the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog, good graphics
The Bad: Chris Thorndyke, Meterax, bad voice-acting, terrible plots, current characters, Amy Rose
Rating:
Sonic the Movie: First time I saw Sonic as an anime. Wasn't impressed but at least there were a couple SatAM stuff, like the name Robotnik (instead of Eggman) & Robotropolis. Voice-acting wasn't good & some characters were annoying. But at least Tails & Knuckles are in it at the same time. Plus fans loved Metal Sonic & Metal Sonic makes a very good villain.
The Good: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, & Metal Sonic. Good storyline.
The Bad: the Princess. Robotnik constantly flirting with her. Bad voice-acting.
Rating:
Sonic Underground: Didn't like what I saw the first time but at least there were a ton of SatAM stuff compared to any other cartoon. Jaleel White returns yet again as Sonic while voicing Sonic's other siblings. Also this is the final time we get to see classic Sonic before his redesign & where he started to be in his current situation. Also this is the last known American-made Sonic cartoon (even though it was made in France) before Sega of Japan took complete control of Sonic & really started making him worse than ever. The bad news is there are no other Freedom Fighters. But the good news is Knuckles finally makes an appearance. The singing is kinda unnecessary though. Sonic already sang a few times with his guitar in SatAM.
The Good: Jaleel White as Sonic, Knuckles, classic SatAM references still alive at this point.
The Bad: No other Freedom Fighters, Robotnik's new henchmen, Sonic a Prince & has siblings?! (since when??!!)
Rating: {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog: The very first Sonic cartoon (unless SatAM was the first?) & it had all of the humor of the classic cartoons like Bugs Bunny & Scooby-Doo. Plus the voice-acting was excellent. Though Robotnik was very silly, he still wouldn't give up which makes the show even funnier. Scratch & Grounder (they later would do the voice of Knuckles & Robotnik in Underground) add even more humor as the "very stupid but very persistent" robots. Plus at the end of each episode, there is a "Sonic Sez" segment about life lessons & telling kids what to do & what not to do in real life.
The Good: Jaleel White as Sonic, Tails, classic humor.
The Bad: plots are not as understandable, no references to games, no Power Rings?

Sonic the Hedgehog/Sonic SatAM: A cartoon that is severely underrated by many critics but loved by many fans & no doubt the best Sonic cartoon ever made, SatAM has a darker, more developed storyline & has characters that we all can relate to. Sure we're not perfect (like Antoine) but we all have our faults. Anyway Sonic SatAM takes place on Mobius where Robotnik controls the planet with an iron fist, roboticizing any Mobian he captures. However there are a group of Mobians called Freedom Fighters who stand in his way. One of them is the great Sonic the Hedgehog. Of course there are Tails, Sally, Bunnie, Antoine, & Rotor. Sally is the brains of the group, actually planning out missions that are somewhat successful (despite her getting criticism for being "nude" even though she isn't thanks to the fur). Tails, the young two-tailed fox who is Sonic's best bud. Rotor, the mechanic who is a good inventor (no reason given on his appearance change even though his appearance was fine in Season 1). Antoine, the goofball who tries too hard to prove he is the real deal mostly to Sally, only for his plans to backfire. Bunnie, the half-roboticized but very lovable Southerner who is the strongest & fights with Kung Fu. Snively is RoButtnik's assistant & Robotnik is the villain. The plots are outstanding & the show is addicting. The BEST thing that happened to Sonic to date.
The Good: Everything.
The Bad: Some slow, boring parts, but very small & short. Antoine pretty much acting like an idiot at the WORST time.

AOSTH, the show didn’t go anywhere but, pure comedy doesn’t have to go anywhere. Good humor came from every one, Blundering robot lackeys, the Doctor’s plans and inventions that range from classic freeze ray to the bizarre. It’s not that I don’t like this show I was enjoy the other two more.
Sonic Underground, It started out with the same premise as SATam but, took a major turn. I really liked the plots but None of them went anywhere! Deroboticiser hoax, Sonic concurs water, gone the next episode. Dingo monster turned back into lackey (didn’t Robotnik say countless times that arc he’d roboticise him)? On the plus side Knuckles cartoon debut and he came back for three more episodes to.
Sonic the Movie, I loved the fact it had a major “what if factor”, and took things from the games and things from seemingly no where. If it had become a series I would’ve looked forward to it expanding on subplots like the post apocalypse Earth Robotnik is from. The wreckage Sonic lives in. Why does Tails have a permanent cold? The voice acting wasn’t all that great that being the only short coming for me. I would of also looked forward so learning more of planet Freedom’s geography.

I would probably like SU or Sonic X least. Sonic X has the annoying SoJ storylines and characters, but SU has a perverted version of Robotnik with Optimus Prime's voice actor and singing. Hard decision there. The movie probably isn't that bad.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I don't hate Sonic X. I forced myself to watch its entire run (the 4Kids dub mind you) and I found it to be an average anime. Thinking something is mediocre, and hating it are two different things. Now I'm not a huge fan of anime, so this effects my standing with Sonic X significantly. Everything about X screamed run of the mill, Sonic's generic hero personality, Robot- Eggman being a comic relief idiot of a villain, a bunch of unnecessary melodrama with Chris, dry storylines and story arcs, etc.
For me it's really a matter of quality. Essentially Sonic X was Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog for the modern generation, silly slapstick with some serious elements thrown into it to appeal to modern trends. While I bought Shout Factory's Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog volume one, and will buy the next two I will honestly say that AoStH is not something that the whole family can enjoy. It's intended purely for the younger crowd, and the only reason I'm buying the DVD sets for this particular series is the nostalgia value. Sonic X falls into the same boat, the younger Sonic fans like it and grew up with it, and they'll likely buy the DVDs for nostalgia, but the adults of the family probably won't enjoy it.
Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) and Sonic Underground were quality stories that the entire family could enjoy. Both series' were first and foremost, "serious" and contained quite a few dark themes to appeal to an older audience, but they also had their fair share of humor and very rarely did they go overboard with it. There were a couple times in both series' where traditional slapstick was applied, in SatAM this usually involved Antoine (particularly the Antoine shorts in season two), and in Sonic Underground Sleet and Dingo occasionally ended up in a slapstick situation, but it wasn't something that happened every episode. Both of these series' can appeal to both children and adults because of their content.

Here's how I see it.
Sonic X: Too many humans. Other than that I didn't see enough of it to get a good grasp of it.
Sonic Underground: The Singing, Jaleel White doing Sonia's voice (Sonic and Manic's voice are good and all, but their sister too? O.o; ) and no Tails. What's a Sonic cartoon without Tails? Tails is ALMOST as important as Sonic. Almost. Every hero needs a sidekick, I don't mind the idea of Sonic having a brother or sister, but the whole singing thing threw me off. At least Knuckles was in it..but I didn't get to see the episodes with Knuckles.
AoSTH: Well. The Robotnik is kind of annoying, the animation was bad. But it did focus on Sonic and Tails and their relationship which made it more like the games IMO. By the way...it had ONE element of the games: The Chaos Emeralds. Well a few actually. Grounder can be seen in Sonic 2 and so can Coconuts...though maybe not in the same incarnation. As for scratch...the closest thing to him would probably be that chicken bot manning a gun on that flying fortress zone (I think that's what it was called. The one before the Death Egg anyway and the one where they fly to the Death Egg.)
As for SatAM...I suppose the absense of Knuckles and not as much Tails action. But SatAM did have a lot of heart and soul to it, and it's darker themes made it more real. There was definately a message about environmental pollution, and freedom. It had realistic characters too.
Sonic the movie...yeah I didn't like Sera.

I think why most people here like SATAM is because them things are not on it!
I would hate the show if Amy was on it, I HATE her. Robotnik is far better then eggman for this series! with out knothole.....well....I mean....there....ar...what......It would be crappy and pointless you basically hate all the things that make it SATAM! .......
My rating is...
Sonic X 10/100
AoSth 50/100
Sonic Movie 25/100
Sonic Underground 20/100
SATAM 100/100 Thats one awesome show!
