Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Yeah, Sal calls him that in private. Public if she wants him to blush.

No it totally makes sense. Like Phoenix Wright is "Nick". It's something that impresses me because it makes characters real. We all nickname people... well except in acceptable formal situations in cultures but you know what I mean.

What's frightening is that my colleague and fellow Arcadiaauthor, Ashura Hedgehog, was going to name his world of Ani-Earth's version of Sonic "Nikki" (short for Sonikku) for the reboot of HIS fics!  Something tells me we have a "great minds think alike" moment here...

You know Ahsura is a really dark name, when you know what it means. It is a term of a Muslim holiday where they remember to mourn the martrydom of Muharram, who was beheaded. People flock in the streets with blades of all sort slicing about their topside of their face near the eyes  (don't google if you are squemish, they slice deep and they go even for the youth :( ). So everytime someone mentions Ahsura, I grimace as the first thing I think of. Ironically this is supposed to be a holy day, but from a more Christian perspective it reminds me of the dramatic scene of Elijah versus the Prophets Baal in the book of Kings where his competition cut themselves to appease Baal with sympathetic magic (and it doesn't work) and then Gerescene Demoniac in the New Testament (who would cut himself just like that untill Jesus heals him of his supernatural psychosis).  If you ever want to to run deep into the potential subtextual commentary here via that name for that character in your work, there it is.

Nikky is a nod to the old Japanese manga actually. And Sonic's full real name is actually something else. Only a few people know it. He sticks with Sonic because one he choose that name, and two it makes him a symbol for the Freedom Fighters. I mean Batman calling himself Bruce would be stupid right? Sonic has taken the name as his identity to become a sort of larger than life beacon and standard for the other Freedom Fighters to rally alongside.

Honestly it sounds better as a nickname than a real name considering the majority of the ff have normal sounding names.

However considering many of the SEGA names...it could be real too.

In Eot she's called Amy but her real name is Amelia Rosethorn.

Sally Acorn is actually Sally's attempt being more down to earth. Her name is Salena Alicia Arkon. Acorn is a pet-name for the beloved Royal Family. But in all seriousness the history books and courts call the Dynasty Arkon.

Tails of course is Miles "Tails" Prower.

Bunnie Rabbot is the biggest change in names, but that names kind of a suprise.

Which makes sense to me. Though I am curious why she couldn't just be Amelia Rose.

It fits what I have done with the character as a whole and how she really isn't the same Amy people know. That is why use the charactrnym.

Tails gets a cool title after beating a group of Stealth-Bombers in his bi-plane. The Sky Titan. By Book Two The other bastions of Freedom Fighters that have spring up about The Great Plains and Forest call him The Stormchild.

That makes sense to me. The chances of me enjoying or comprehending a "Darker" or "more realistic" plot to a more innocent show is about a 50/50 chance.

I am more wholistic than "dark and gritty". I want to be honest to my audience about the more mature elements, but I don't glorify moral insanity, darkness, perversity, and/or profanity. Sonic is always Sonic, cheerful, cocky, and optimistic. There is still fun jokes and comedy, yet people are in peril and serious and mature issues are brought into focus. I like to run the gambit of tone, kind of like shows like Avatar and Batman the Animated Series.

The weaponry, villany, and inhumanity is more realistic in the bad guys and so is the overall conflict, but the hopes and cheerful good of our heros shine bright amidst the darkness.

It still stands that is confuses me. I'll get a little off topic here but I'll come back around so just hang in there,

Take a show like MLP:FIM. When people write fanfics that are just as cute and innocent as the show it makes sense to me. If someone tok the show and wrote out a fanfic that dealt with Ex-girllfriends, the Apple parents death, more details in Babseed's bullying and the possibility of Flutershy's parents being disappointed and unsupportive. I can understand that. I sometimes enjoy it. When they get to clopfics, real danger with death or mutated scaring as a strong possibility, sadistic villains, or the real chance that the mane six can't survive... I'm out. If you enjoy it, fine... but I don't.

There are even mainstream antics that get this. I love batman, but I can't watch the modern Dark Knight movies because my brain just can't wrap around a joker that is that dark... If I can't laugh at Joker, dangerous or not, I can't enjoy him.

The same applies to Sonic. There's a blurry line in the sand that if Eggman gets to dangerous or if the emotional stress gets too heavy my brain shuts down.

This is not to imply any of you have written a fanfic I think is bad. It just means there are a lot of times where my brain shuts off and I simply can't comprehend a character "darker" then his/her original incarnation. Amy is one of those characters.

So this was a long winded way to say it was a compliment.

A.k.a The Walking Dead. xD

As for my Fan-fic I don't think you'll have to worry about being like these...clop-fics...My Amy is not dark persay just more well-rounded. But I will let you make that choice.

Okay boys and girls... Here is one for you.

Improving the Swatbot. How can we make it more threatening and less of a red-shirted mook with stormtrooper accuracy?
