@  furrykef : (25 July 2015 - 03:35 AM)

When was that? Depending on when it was, it might have been a DNS issue. Those should be gone now.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

Some people can sculpt full bodies in Sculptris, but it sure beats me how they pull it off.

Probably overly time consuming due to the layout, that is what happend to me. It's like drawing with ovengloves on, or doing yoga in skinny jeans. Possible? Yeah...but not practicle.

While I haven't done any sculpting yet, the process they teach at my university treats it as a means of tweaking and refining models created in programs like Maya. Sculpting things from the ground up seems frowned upon.

It's quickly becoming the way things are done, though. Retopo tools are getting more and more sophisticated, making it more and more practical to sculpt first, retopo, then clean up. Good thing, too, 'cause I never could get the hang of building up a clean mesh from scratch.

I have always liked it to resemble traditional sculpting as in you got a simple shape and refine it down to the way you want it to be. However if you want to make thise stuff realistic it's best to go with using both additive and subtractive methods to get the underlying anatomy right.

These are the many types of Mimics you'll be finding in the RPG I'm creating, of course Mimics will play the standard fake chest role we all know, but they will also have other traps they are the center of.

I'm going to link something soon. It is my response to the horribly designed "Tornado X" from Sonic X. I've decided to redesign the platform entirely into something that I call the "Tornado Evolution". Plus it is to show that I DO know how to design planes while including all all technological features at present and on the horizon.

Edit:

Here it is, the Tornado Evolution. It's my response to the Tornado X and to people who doubt I can design planes.

A petition to keep up to a third of the characters in the sonic comics from being lost forever.

To those who want to give this "new direction" a chance, don't say I didn't warn you.

And here's the deviantart page for it, so you can comment and like or whatever, see what others say... It also has a bigger description for the work.

I'm currently working on a Mass Effect short story for a transmedia graduate class, strangely enough. Never thought I'd get to write fanfiction as a school project, but given that the instructor constantly alludes to things like Tolkien and Star Wars in his lectures, as well as hosting a six hour tabletop RPG session every week, I suppose it isn't that surprising. Was originally planning on doing an ME RTS game design document, but the pieces weren't coalescing into a meaningful whole and one of the character concepts I drafted really resonated with me. Despite the extremely slow timetable that The Princess and the Demon unfortunately suffers from, this will be complete within two weeks, whether I like it or not. Hooray for deadlines.

As for the actual content, I'll just say this much: Reaper point of view. Due to the timetable, don't expect the writing style to be quite as refined as in my aforementioned SatAM story, though hopefully it won't be that far off.

Would it be best just to post it on fanfiction.net or DA and give a link in this thread for those interested?

As for other things in the works, I've got a full figure ZBrush sculpt that's mostly finished and will be done around the same time. Not sure if I'm going to color it or not, since that's not a project retirement. I'd like to do a colored ZBrush sculpt of Rarity from Friendship is Magic once summer starts, though I'm not sure if I'll muster up the nerve (public computer labs and all). If I wind up doing it, hopefully it'll take just a few weeks. Her design's pretty simple (though I'm dreading the tight mane curls), hence why I'm doing her over someone like Sally.

The second chapter of The Princess and the Demon will also commence once summer starts, though I seriously doubt it will be finished by the year's end.

Here's the full figure sculpt I mentioned.

The Mass Effect short story is due on the 8th, so I should post it either that day or the one after.
