No seriously, you think this is gonna work? You think Sega is going to license their top cash cow to some random person on the internet. Especially in this day and age where Sega has their eye on everything and anything involving Sonic? This ani't the early 90s anymore where Sega rubberstamped everything that crossed their desk.

 

And didn't Ben Hurst try to do this once before? And look what happened. And if someone who works in the industry couldn't get Sega to green light his movie idea, what chance does this guy have?

 

Does this random DA guy even have any knowledge to how these types of things work? And him "contacting the licensing department" doesn't mean jackshit that he knows what he is doing.

 

Louis, no offense by why do you always fall for these things? The moment someone says "I'MA GONNA REVIVE SATAM!" you suddenly jump to arms and believe this will work.We've been here numerous times in the past and every single time it's always failed.

 

And wow! You read his script. I'm impressed... Just like when I read a certain somebody's Sonic movie script and I too was impressed... With how terrible it was. I've had more fun having my wisdom teeth pulled then I did reading that old script.

 

You know what would be something that I'd actually "want to see" involving a SatAM revival? How about some actual proof? Like, you know, annoucements from a trusted source or how about some screenshots? Not some random guy on the internet with his brilliant ideas to "SAVE SONIC!" which hasn't gone anywhere in years. We've heard it all before and had guys like that before.

Also Three Movies before the series? There isn't any promise it'll make it past the first one, focus is spread out too far ahead.

I understand that doubt is a natural first reflex here, after what has happened. But since you don't see the whole scope of the situation yet, what proof do you need? I already have signed a few non-disclosure agreements so I can't go into too much detail, but didn't you notice how you can write him if you have any questions?

 

Maybe I could convince him to join us.

 

Also, I've been in contact with him for over a year, spreading our ideas back and fourth.

Unless he's done something professional already, there isn't much of a chance he'll actually even get considered.

What makes this guy seem different: Cause he has a "detailed Plan", cause he is contacting liscensing, cause he has a script or several?

 

Louis he gonna be slammed down hard by SEGA There's no way SEGA will say yes unless he's a well known guy like Butch Hartman or someone like that

At this point I don't have enough info about his project.  I mean he's mentioned doing movies of the first three games, but that doesn't tell me how he's doing it.  I gotta know more before I take interests.

He's  not going to. time isnt gonna tell its almost certain. Hell the New York Jets and Giants are more likely to make it to the Super Bowl this year than this working.

 

Would i want it to succede? Maybe, depends on whats what. Will it? Probably not

You got it Red. Your portfolio is everything. Trust me, I am a Graphic Designer (freelance). Your portfolio determines a lot. If you got something professional under your belt. people might hear you out - at least for a kickstarter. 

 

 Also you can't forget about story. For example I would never go about raving I am reviving Satam. I'd rather take my projects and build a community of fans around it that would make that judgment. A project's quality is crafted by its make, but its determined by its audience. You don't want to overate yourself in middevelopment. Make a good story pitch and play it off as perfect, and people will be disapointed from the inflated hype, and thus percieve it more negativly. Also be open for story revision and collaberation before you commit to the art part.
