Yup, I'm glad I've kept my expectations as low as I did for this show. It's precisely how I thought it would turn out; although Tails seem okay. Oh well, at least we still have SatAM and Underground.

Something tells me the show will be appreciated by the younger audience (as was intended) rather than the older generation.

It's okay...but I felt it was too forced for a laugh.
I believe that was the joke. Eggman is trying to emphasize just how much of a villain he is by adding the word "evil" to everything, even if it's just ordinary food.
If anything, this new depiction of Eggman is reminding me of Dr. Doofenshmirtz from "Phineas and Ferb"; a mad scientist who tries way too hard to be a threat, but doesn't succeed all that much.
Something I wholeheartly agree with and am very happy with.

"Everyone creates the thing that they dread. Men of peace create engines of war. Invaders create Avengers. People create... smaller people...? CHILDREN! (chuckles) Lost the word there..."

Oh, c'mon. It doesn't look that bad. Mediocre perhaps, but not terrible.

Maybe it will have an Adventure Time effect that will grow on the older audience as well
Hopefully it wont have a MLP effect...
Everything was going so well...this trailer totally had me sold....til the line at the end.
No, your name isnt Eggman... Its Robotnik.... Why you call yourself Eggman now is beyond me

I didn't say it was bad per se, mediocre, yes, and it is exactly how I expected it to turn out. From everything I've seen this one cannot even hold a candle to SatAM or Underground and that's a fact. It's yet to be seen if it'll be a train wreck or not, but I doubt it will be better than Sonic X unless they're holding something back.

Because in Japan he was Eggman from day one and even in the old Genesis Games he used that as a nickname as you can see it on his flying vehicles.

....thus far I'd rather watch Boom than Underground. And I like Underground.

AND FEED ME HAM!
I'm cautiously optimistic. All you people freaking out that it isn't SatAM/SU/AOSTH need to chill. Appreciate each show for what it is.

Of course it isn't SatAM/X/SU/UG/AOSTH, but all the same I have every right to compare it to them and so far, in my opinion, it looks wanting; my expectations are very, very low.

In many ways, this show's approach is eerily similar to what SatAM did when it was first released; taking the source material everyone's already familiar with and taking it in a different direction. Some fans liked the different approach, while others hated it. To this day, they still argue over which version is superior, often with very little argument than just "I prefer this over that".
For me, it may not be as engaging as SatAM or "Underground", but I find it much more interesting than AoStH and X.

I think they're going more for the direction that AoStH went, though more than anything, I got a weird Donkey Kong Country vibe from the trailer. That show was goofy as hell, but it was a good kind of goofy, not unlike AoStH. Its just a cartoon to make us laugh, and entertain us for awhile. No more, no less. That's what I think SB will be. Sonic has been getting 2 SERIOUS 2 EDGY ever since Sonic Adventure, and more often than not, it really doesn't work for Sonic, and I think its kind of a shame it took over a decade for the powers that be to realize this. Even in SatAM it was kind of hit and miss.

So who's actually been confirmed for Boom?
Knuckles
Sonic
Tails
Amy
Eggman
Sticks
Then E3 had a clip of Metal and I hear that shadow has concept art but hasn't been confirmed...
Do we know if Shadow and Metal are in it?

The concrete: Stephen Frost has confirmed via Twitter that this show will not be prime time and is aimed for the Saturday morning slot.
The rumored: This page from Cartoon Network's website was dug up. While it has broken HTML, an outdated ad, logo, and copyright notice, it seems to actually be ON the website as it links to everything and even has the same base URL. Main point: it seems to be pointing to 7 AM Pacific/Eastern Time as the show's timeslot. That is currently occupied by reruns of Teen Titans Go!.

That...was really frickin' good.

Sure, they might have the generic plots of a typical Saturday morning cartoon show; but really, who do you think was the target audience here? And unlike AoStH, the characters were tolerable and it had some decent interactions and surprisingly emotional scenes. For what it's worth, I recommend checking it out.

Episode 1
Episode 2
I predict maybe 24 hours at best before these get DMCA'd out of existence, so get in fast.
Fwiw, I kind of liked it! Clearly the series is bent on continuing the trend that began with the recent Sonic games (Sonic Colours, Generations and Lost World) - that means a significantly lightened tone and emphasis on sarcastic, self-aware humour. Being clearly positioned as a comedy means the stakes aren't really significant - it's got more in common with AoStH than any other Sonic series to date. Generally the characters are presented well, certainly a step up from what they were in Sonic X and so on - Knuckles isn't a gullible idiot, Amy is ditzy without being sociopathic, Sonic shows some humility and flaws. Sticks is annoying as hell and not funny at all.
I'm actually picking up a lot of MLP influence in terms of tone and dialogue between characters, though I've never watched more than a few episodes of that show, so I might be mistaken there.

Except for Sticks, who as I predicted is annoying because of her one track joke (she's paranoid/psychotic) and ear-grating voice. True she's not nearly as bad as Scratch from AoStH, but give a few more episodes....she will be.
Other than that the show looks pretty good. It's awfully predictable but I've been through many a Saturday Cartoon Before so I figure I have an advantage over the target audience. Actually it does make me look forwards to the game a lot more.
