@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Okay, getting this started back up! For those of you who missed out at the beginning or have just forgotten, I'm drawing sketches of 31 of my favorite cartoon characters, one for each day in March. Since I missed a little bit due to personal problems, here's the ones I already put up!

Grumpy Dwarf of Disney's Snow White
Grouchy Smurf of The Smurfs
Grumpy Bear of The Care Bears
Aimee Brightower of Galaxy High

Even if you have seen these four in the old thread, ya might want to go see 'em on DeviantArt anyway since I'm putting down comments on the characters and telling why I picked them as my favorites. Read my words, damn your eyes!

And now, the new ones! As promised, I will be posting two at a time until I'm caught back up.

The Pink Panther on DeviantArt.

Brock Samson of The Venture Bros. on DeviantArt.
Cheers!

While not quite as badass as the almighty Brock, I hope today's two toons are still cool enough to pass muster.

just a *very* minor nitpick, jim:

Next time you draw Grumpy dwarf, you might wanna considder having him go "Heh!!" Instead. He grunts more like that in the movie...

But what the heck, I'm just a perfectionist! ^^* Nice work!

Wow, Lydia looks great and Bort kinda reminds me of Sigma from "Mega Man X." I almost wish we could see Brock's tattoo, though.

It's funny that you drew Penny, because I watched a couple of "Inspector Gadget" episodes for the first time in about twelve years just a few days ago. I hope you do Quimby at some point; I always sympathized with that guy (what with the whole living in trash cans and getting routinely exploded).

Thanks. I'm actually rather proud of how that one came out.

Ah, alas. When I first decided to do this and was writing up a list of characters, I had toyed around with the idea of doing more than one character per sketch - for example, Grouchy Smurf would have been joined by Jokey Smurf and I wouldn't have had to choose between Gonzo and Fonzie - but ultimately decided that I would take only one character from each respective show for this run.
Cheers!

I'll be honest, but I can't help but laugh at Gonzo whenever I look at him ever again after a joke I heard somewhere else. Not to say that I'm demeaning your work or anything.

The one that caught my eye was that Brock Samson one. Venture Bros. has been my favorite show on TV since its been on the air.

I should probably try this cartooning thing next month in April. See how long and far I'd get.

From Bort's DeviantArt listing:
QUOTE ("Jim":2poq38cm)
So . . . confession time. I hardly remember anything about Orbots. In fact, it wasn't until a few months ago that I managed to re-learn the name that went with the random, disparate memories about cartoon space robots that floated to the top of my consciousness from time to time.

But I do remember that I thought Bort was one of the greatest 'bots ever when I was a kid. Dude could turn into virtually anything! I'm not sure if that included a pogo-stick, but it probably should have.

The only episode I remember even halfway clearly was one where the 'bots ended up on this planet full of robots who were supposedly breaking down, so the Orbots decided to help out, not realizing the sinister agenda behind it all. And I may be wrong on the details of that. Perhaps there was no sinister agenda. I do remember that Bort turned into a piston to keep a machine running for them, but that's about it.
Cheers!

Not in the cartoon, it's not. He's certainly obviously based on Clouseau, but he's only ever called "Inspector".

See, this is why folks should be checking the comments I make on DeviantArt, as I explain that there.

Wootness for Soundwave and the super hot, super sexah Cheetara. *drools*
'Star Wars' is my story, just like my house is my house. So if I wanna paint my house green, even if everyone else thinks it should be red, guess what? I'm gonna paint it Jar Jar! - George Lucas

"The Devil Inside is the new scam from director William Something Something. The movie stars actors and was edited on a computer. Somewhere. This movie is the latest film in a series of very low budget films designed to look like real movies! And be released in theaters to make a quick buck via a horribly off kilter budget to profit ratio that the general public seem to be stupidly unaware of! These films use to be called 'direct to video' but now they are called 'first run features'. These films then vanish from the theaters, like a rapist leaving the scene of a crime." - Mike Stoklasa of RedLetterMedia
