Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Just a day before its 20th anniversary (over in Europe anyhow, I don't know about you guys in Murica!), I've decided to take a look at the beloved Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM cartoon to see just what all the fuss is about. Possibly my longest, and most subjective, video yet, I analyse the Sonic series I never watched as a kid to bring my opinion on the series to the table.

Here's the review itself to check out: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=j7YWrrSZfmY Please give me your thoughts on the review and if you guys have any questions about anything to do with this video, ask away and I'll try my best to answer them. I understand that not everyone is going to agree with what I say in the review and some of you may even find issue with some of my claims, be they praises or criticisms, but I'm totally fine with that, at least if it kicks off a decent debate.

In any case, I'll shut up and let you guys watch that there review! Regardless of whether or not you agree with me, I hope you enjoy watching the review! Until we meet again, have a great day y'all! :) - FrDougal9000

Not a bad review. The editing was good, and the narration was nice to listen to (though a bit distracting due to the background noise).

I definitely agree with your opinion on Robotnik. Jim Cummings gave an excellent, bone-chilling performance, but everything else about the SatAM incarnation of Robotnik was either lackluster or underdeveloped compared to the other incarnations. He lacked the comedic side which made him fun to watch, and the genius side which made him a mad scientist (he practically stole the roboticizer from Uncle Chuck). He also had little to no backstory, so it left a lot of unanswered questions. And as you said during the review, had he been voiced by a different actor, he would've been as forgettable as his "Underground" counterpart.

But with that said, don't let that stop you from enjoying its worth. It has its strengths, but also its weaknesses. I highly recommend watching the series, but don't expect it to be the masterpiece nearly everyone praises it to be.

I've post my review on the YouTube video blog... and I'll post my same review here:

"I do like SatAM... I used to give it a 10 back then. But, I change my vote to 7... or maybe 7.4... It's still a good show to watch. If the Sonic fans really want to see a good Sonic show, I suggest: SatAM! Unlike Sonic X, or AoStH, or SU... The Sonic OVA is alright, but quite decent. SatAM will always be one of my favorite childhood memories :) "

Also, as for the evil Robotnik SatAM version... he may be bad-@SS! But, his comedic side... seems not right   Unless, if he's more of a Dr. Eggman version from the games and Sonic X.

SatAM's a series that gets better the more one thinks about it. After going through the show for the first time a couple of years ago, the flaws stood out quite sorely, and I considered the series good, but not great. Yet I couldn't stop thinking about it. Over the next several months, I gradually fell in love with it more and more as I analyzed the themes, concepts, and character nuances it contained. Behind the rough exterior, there's a wonderful and fascinating world, one I have found more engaging than any fictional setting save Middle-Earth and the Star Wars universe.

Unfortunately, the very slow development of my current perceptions toward the series makes them exceedingly difficult to convey. I know why I consider Robotnik to be a superb antagonist, for example, yet I would be hard pressed to encapsulate those thoughts and emotions into a concise handful of paragraphs composed within the span of a few minutes.

That's where fan work factors in, I suppose. Art, whether visual or written, serves as a more effective means of elucidating one's own thoughts and emotions. It also allows fans to build off the foundation of the original series, remedying its flaws while exploring the complexities it addressed and realizing them to their fullest potential.
