Even if we were able to convince them, Sega wouldnt cause of their hatred of them
What hatred? From what I can tell, they don't mind them as long as they mash well with their current direction. The reason why they aren't in the games is due to their origins; they can't use characters that they had no part in creating.

So? They could easily bend their origins just a hair to include them

I say a good Sonic series would be something that can appeal to fans of The Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, and *long tired sigh* My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
A petition to keep up to a third of the characters in the sonic comics from being lost forever.
