Okay, every now and again, I ponder making a new RPG. However when I go OUTSIDE the range of Sonic (or sometimes in it) I'm usually unsure how much you guys would actually be interested in playing it.
Normally I'd just pop in the Shoutbox and ask, but that only works when people are around to reply, and since I started working, my schedule hasn't always lined up with me being able to post when others are on.
So I came up with this idea. Rather than PMing or Shoutboxing ideas to see who is interested in an RPG, we can just post them here. Think of it as a pre-Recruiting/Rules Station. If you're unsure if people will wanna play it, propose the idea here, see how many people take interest, and go from there. That way you don't waste your time developing a RPG Recruiting thread that nobody wants to join.
Have Fun.
Now on that note, I was wondering how many of you would be interested in a StarCraft RPG.
Similarly to Reed's Warhammer 40K RPG, you'd pick a species, class, alignment, and all that fun stuff, I'd role for a few bonuses, and wallah, you're of for adventures in the Korpulu Sector.
If you're not familiar with the StarCraft Series, I'll do my best to provide answers and/or links to answers.
If you have any questions feel free to ask them now. If I can get at least two players to wanna play I'll start up a recruiting thread.
If you wanna get a jump on the others and start thinking of a character already, I'll link you to the three playable species pages.
Species:
Terrans - Humans who came to the Korpulu Sector a few centuries ago. Similarly to Humans, they're usually more focused on the now, and their own well being. They live about 150 years, though few do due to the constant wars, and terrans over 80 are still considered old. (Think Rednecks in space, though many aren't Rednecks).
Zerg: Violent xenomorphs, many with reptilian or insect like bodies, that are united by a hivemind of sorts, though individuals still have their own free will (also primal Zerg lack a Hivemind). The Zerg are predators (not the galactic hunters....), and they can evolve to adapt to situations. Primal Zerg also can even absorb organic bio-mass and adapt instantly. Terrans fear the Zerg, and rightly so. (Bestial monsters. Since many Zerg species don't match up it's hard to pick just one thing that represents them. Think the Flood meets Zombies meets the Thing meets giant space bugs)
Protoss: Protoss are a religious-warrior species. Their technology is centuries more advance then the Terrans and even intertwines magic. They are mortal enemies with the Zerg. Protoss are usually believe in the greater good, and sacrifice, but are fiercely loyal to their respected groups beliefs. Many believe the Terrans inferior and almost an unintelligent species if not a pestilence. (Think Knights Crusaders in Space....or the Covenant....mainly Elites.)
