@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

G'day everyone,

I'll go by the name "Sebastian" while I'm here.

Alhough I'd heard of the Sonic the Hedgehog Satam series I was only able to watch it earlier this year when I found some episodes that had been uploaded to youtube (which doesn't stop me wanting to buy the DVD set if I can find it in Australia).

I was enthralled; the cartoon series had everything I enjoy; true heroes, a worthy villain dictator, adventures, a science fiction setting, and just the right amount of humour without being too silly (except for the Antoine episodes).

I may not be visiting this forum a lot because I have my own projects that keep me busy, but I thought I'd introduce myself and state that I believe the following:

Sonic Satam was the best Sonic cartoon to date

Sally Acorn is the true girl for sonic (I don't regard Amy Rose very highly)

Tails ought to have featured more frequently

Antoine was featured TOO frequently

Satam should >>>*NOT*<<< have been cancelled.

Hope to see you all around. Cheers!

I don't think anyone regards Amy very highly. xD I only like her for comic relief.

My impression of Amy is that she's a stock-standard Anime girl; the only times she's not being excessively cute, giggling or grinning, is when someone has annoyed her. Not a very deep personality, unlike our Sally.

Has anyone written (or drawn) any Sally vs Amy fanfics?

A novocastrian originally. Believe me, I wouldn't live in this horrible city if I could find work elsewhere - it's almost as bad as Robotropolis - but my admin skills aren't much use outside of the big city. I'm sticking with this company in the hope I can eventually be tranferred to Toronto. That's Toronto in Ontario, not New South Wales. Also, I have 3 kiwis working with me. Two of them are ok, the other one is an egomaniac.

My great, great grandparents are from Scottland, Ireland and parts of Europe. I don't know why they came to this damn hell-hole. It's way to flippin' hot! The only times I can survive outside here are May-September.

Also, Australia has trashed its industrial infrastructure. Canada still has industrial greatness, and a decent railway (I also like trains). Down here we have shortages of EVERYTHING - trains, busses, roads, water, electricity, police, doctors, nurses, hospitals and housing. About the only thing we're not short of is people.

Thought I'd say hi properly,

It always gives me inspiration when new people discover the show. But still I don't get why you don't just buy the DVD online? Even if you don't have a mulit-region DVD player (I mean what DVD players aren't these days) you can pick one up really cheaply now, it would be worth the purchase trust me.

Regarding Tails, you might not have seen the season 2 episode 'Drood Henge' in this Tails starts to assert himself more and grow, you see him changing from the kid into a proper sidekick for sonic. Also Ben Hurst revealed that season 3 would have further advanced Tails character forward.

As for Amy, yuck! However I have to say that the Fleetway version of Amy, while stating out like all the others, changed into a very strong willed character that actually had a few things in common with Sally.

Thanks Dominic, I've seen your posts but it's good to be formerly introduced.

I'll tell you why. No credit card. I've been turned down by American Express, Visa and two Australian Credit Card companies; Wizard and Westbank. They wont give me a reason but I suspect it's because I'm paying 52% of my wage straight into rent. There's a severe housing shortage in Australian capital cities at the moment, and landlords are raking in an absolute fortune - the b******s.

I don't trust Paypal because I don't know how safe it is to link the internet directly to my bank account. All it would take is one dishonest person to clear out my entire balance.

You wouldn't believe what I've done to get around the problem. Firstly, I do a lot of skill-swapping. If I find a cartoonist or other talented person who is willing to exchange some of their work for something of mine in return then that's perfect. In other situations I have pen friends in Canada and the USA who I send money to via Western Union so that they can pay for me, but the big problem with this is that there's about a 10% foreign exchange conversion fee.

Yes I've seen Drood Henge and *ALL* the other episodes in season #1 & #2. Tails came up with the plan to trick Robotnik with a fake scroll. Dulcy kept crying because she was impressed that Tails was growing up. I've also read that in season #3 Tails "would have discovered some great power within him" and that "the relationship between Sonic and Tails would have been closer to that of the video games." What I mean by saying that I think Tails should have been featured more regularly is that he should have been in season #1 & #2 far more often. If they'd featured him instead of Antoine then it's possible the audience ratings would have been higher and Satam might have beaten the Power Rangers and NOT been cancelled in the first pace. Who knows?

Sally rulz! I'd love to see some fanfics or fanart where she puts Amy in her place.

The answer is simple, you must know at least one firend or family member who would not mind buything the DVD for you using 'thier' card and you just hand them some cash, problem sovled.

Or you can always ask a buddy from the states to buy it for you and offering to snail them the cash in return.

Before my welcome thread completely degenerates into a debate on "how to acquire SatAM DVDs without a credit card" let me reply as briefly as I can.

Family member:
Fat chance. Bunch of parasites more selfish than Antoine. Some of them already owe me.

Local friends:
Yes I could ask one of them, but I'd need to be in the right place at the right time, and I really don't want to bug any of them on the issue or I will start to LOSE friends.

Overseas friends:
For every Aussie dollar that I send overseas I lose ten percent in the currency exchange fees, so I have to reserve this for really crucial things.

E-bay:
I'd need to find someone on E-bay willing to part with their DVDs who is willing to wait for the money via snail mail, and then cash in a cheque or money order. Nearly everyone who uses E-bay does so because they want quick cash.

Now ENOUGH please guys! It's not the most thrilling discussion. Doesn't anyone have any normal questions, like who am I, what do I do and what are my interests in Satam?

ROTFLOL!!

Hang on, I gotta wipe the laughter tears out of my eyes first.

I'm...

Hold on, I'm still laughing. I can just picture that in a Californian accent.

I'm a Client Service Officer working in a boring job in a boring city. I trained as a Computer Programmer and then graduated right into the start of a recession and the collapse of the dot com economy. Wanting to do something fun I started my own online comic (link below) and then just a few months later I came across the Satam episodes on Youtube and it was exactly the sort of cartoon I'd always wanted to see.

So that's who the hell I am and how I got interested in Satam.

Bunnie is my favourite character [wolf whistles at her], but I like all of them... even Antoine to a small degree. I like Robotnik and Snivelly as villains too, though I'm dissapointed that we never got to see season 3 because it would have been very interesting to see Snivelly join the freedom fighters. I'm sure he and Antoine would have been arguing all the time.
