Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

In all seriousness. These rules are not finalized and I want some mature opinions. The better we prepare for the future, the less we regret the actions that will become our past. This isn't a dictatorship. I want your insights.

The only issue that I have is how far is too far with violence, sexual, and other objectionable material; in my opinion just saying NSFW doesn't cut it. If you go and ask someone on the street "how far is too far" you'll get a different answer depending on the person you ask.

Personally I am not writing my stories with Sega's current Sonic demographic in mind, nor do I have any intention of writing anything for the pre-teen crowd in mind. I am more or less writing for grown adults that are fans and stories that I myself would like to read. This doesn't mean that I want to write smut or gore, but I would like to know where to draw the line. In my upcoming chapters in particular it's probably going to get more disturbing and while I usually run these kind of scenes by RedStranger for editing, I rather not offend anyone or go over the line in the first place; that is the furthest thing from my intention. Like the old saying goes: "one man's art is another man's pornography."

Also what happens if one of us happens to put something in a story that another member finds objectionable but still falls under criteria? Do we just tell that person to grow a thicker skin and/or don't read the story, or do we adjust our rules to fit that person's objections?

Easy fix actually.

If you take the rating of a video game you can see it gives you the general audience and usually some extra warnings on it.  We do the same.

We acknowledge a rating or general audience, and provide warnings of what we feel might need to be addressed.

FOR EXAMPLE:

War for Mobius - Rating: T - Genre: Sci-Fic/Adventure - Contians:  Medium Level Violence, some humor that may not be appropriate for children under 13.

Haven't worked on it lately, but I'm hoping to crack down tonight or tomorrow and hammer out quite a bit. I've been a bit...err...distracted by watching colorful cartoon ponies studiously laboring to better myself intellectually. Yeah, that's it.

But seriously, I'll try to balance writing with catching up on coursework. I'm only just now starting to catch up on sleep and recover my energy.

  xD. Studying equinology 101?

I would dole out a cheap shot at that by posting this:

 http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ZSS5dEeMX64

But then again I have spent my free time today cowriting a scene RP style from the perspective of a pink female hedgehog, trying to find a cure for a curse that could kill both her and a certain person she's growing fond of. All the while a war is raging on the background.

Be careful not to fry yourself out, now.

You think we should, instead of going out to Deviant Art just now. Filter and screen writers we trust and like from Deviant Art and ask them to join the forums and our cuase? I would rather build our population than conquer territory just now.

I think we need to keep bringing in more writers to this site; and eventually it will mean branching out. I don't have any problem with them being based outside, but this should be the central headquarters, if you will, unless something changes. I think, however, it would behoove us to have a presence on Deviantart; perhaps have a group page there as well; at least we could attract more people that way. Just make sure that they link their work here. Plus, if we have a secondary site, if God forbid something happen to this site, so we could still stay in touch.

And while we're at it, why not expand the group to aspiring Sonic artists and screenwriters as well?

Artists yes, Screenwriters probably not. I got a reason for the latter

Should that happen, Saturday Morning Sonic would probably be a better replacement.

Okay. I want to start seeing some new reviews around here.

I've helped a couple of people with editing their work. But now I am going to start laying down critiques as well. Takers?

I am also asking for a critque on the first sub-chapter of EoT.

Here's my review on the first sub-chapter of RedStranger's EoT.

It started out great with Sonic doing everything we're used to seeing him do: kicking some swat butt and being his normal smart-mouthed jovial self. This gave me the ability to step right into the story with a familiar scene.

While I like the banter between Bunny and Sonic, the pacing just doesn't seem right when compared to the previous scene; at times I feel like I'm getting too much information at some points, but all the same is written quite well. While it's nice to have a look into the history of The Great War, I'm left with a wee bit of un-fulfillment with this sub-chapter with nothing concerning the main story really happening, or at least apparently to me, the reader. But taking it for what it is: a set-up for a much greater piece of work it is understandable.

As far as character development, the tension between Sonic and Bunny was excellent and hints at a possible more intimate relationship between the characters, be it a very close friendship or mayhap more.

Overall, taken as being the first part and the introduction of the story, it serves in that regard quite well. I definitely give this first sub-chapter a thumbs up and was a treat to read a second time.

Thank a bunch! :D

I am glad you liked it. And I will take your advice to heart.

Okiday folks. It's still in the outline phase but I am going to write a Sonic Fan Fic. I have decided to announce it here because I'm not 100% certain where I should post the thing.
