Now when you mean keep them together do you mean in the story or at the end? Honestly the way they handled it in Sonic X was probably the show's best (again, I'm talking about the English Sub here) and the ending was so heart wrenching it was amazing coming from this show. Despite all the criticisms and admittedly poor moments of the show (and ALL of the English Dub) it had it's moments and they were great. So yeah, you were really rooting for them and ESPECIALLY for Tails who later in the season got a surprising amount of screen time, the kid has a lot of heart and dedication, I would have only wanted a 4th Season just to see a sub plot dealing with him dealing with the loss.

Tails seems to suffer many heartbearks with various girls he falls for, doesn't he? Poor kid. I hate to see what happens once he reaches puberty. 

 

Anyway, I can't believe I used to watch that show. "Sonic X" is without a doubt, the worst show to feature Sonic. My biggest complaint, however, isn't the horrible 4Kids dub or the bad characterization, but its excruciatingly boring atmosphere. The whole show can be described as "bland". Nothing in this show was interesting and it was hardy funny. The main characters were bland and/or underdeveloped, the backgrounds were bleak and lifeless, and hardly anything happened in the 1st season. It was mostly spent on characters dilly-dallying around and repeating the same formula as the previous episodes.

 

Thankfully, the 3rd season was a major improvement in terms of story. And I will give the show credit for having some cool characters (mainly Cosmo, Topaz, Bokuun, and Chuck), some decent action scenes, and a nice [Japanese] soundtrack. But as a whole, it wasn't enough to make the entire show interesting.

Sadly it really fell short considering what came before it, mainly the 1st Season, the 2nd Improved somewhat (mainly due to the Sonic Adventure Adaptions), and the 3rd despite how dark it can be is the best of it even if it is a little too long. Sonic only really did stuff when action was involved and I get that they want him to be mysterious but they REALLY over did it. By far in later seasons Knuckles and Amy's Characterizations are the worst in the series, so bad in fact it effected them in a few of the games afterward! I mean a show can have a formulaic pace in a couple of episodes but they did it WAY too much (again, mainly in the 1st Season). The Original Soundtrack did kick ass, though I really questioned why they didn't play the SA1 and SA2 Theme Songs against the final bosses.

I think they should have fleshed out the story more, as well as the CGI models. The scene with the G.U.N. Troops and those celebrity internet cameos were pointless. Replace the G.U.N. Troops with the knothole freedom fighters. Knuckles' cameo didn't make sense. If Knuckles knows about Sonic in the fan film, why is he tricked by Eggman about Sonic being the villain in Sonic 3? If they were to put a different cameo instead of Knuckles, it should be Tails.

Sonic fan-movie:  I would've asked for a little more world building to get more of a sense of this version of Mobius.  Other than that, it was pretty good in my opinion.  Hell, the version of Robotnik was awesome!  When you can have a villian who can basically say that he can and will take your very humanity away whenever he feels like it, THAT makes for a great villian!  Sega...TAKE NOTES!

 

Sonic X ending:  No clue for this one.  Problem is they tried to shoehorn in too much of the game stuff in several of the episodes.  Or perhaps...they tried to shoehorn the anime characters into the games.  Chris instead of Amy talking to Shadow?  REALLY?!?

 

Cosmo:  Definitely in.  Cosmo gave us an idea of a much larger universe.  In this case, showing it wasn't just the animals that could become humanoid, but the plants too.  As for her and Tails...I don't want to dwell on that too much, seeing as how Tails was technically 8 YEARS OLD in that continuity!

I disagree for a few reasons.

1) The Fan Film was based off of the games.  Putting in the Freedom Fighters would have been pointless as they weren't in the games.  

2)  This gives the games a slight bit of Continuity, as it establishes GUN and Station Square there from the beginning.  

3)  The internet Celebrity cameos function the same as any cameo in any movie, it's just a fun reference.  They weren't supposed to be important to the plot.  Sure they seemed pointless, but at the same time removing them doesn't improve anything, but rather makes you have to put in more scenes with just random people anyways.

 1. The concept of Roboticzation was in there and the place was called Mobius. 

 2. Yes. I agree. But it was ill-executed. Why were they bumbling around the forest? What was their goal - to ignore the please of Station Square and play airsoft with a clone army of tin-can gammas? They really only exsist to add a tacked on fualty aessop about xenophobia and to melodramatically gawk at a creepily stiff and floaty sonic.  Not to mention the diologue...well it physically assualted me and stole my wallet...then it ate me wife (and I don't have a wife...).

 3. Again cameos yank at viewer's attention with their star-power, if you give them a flat backdrop-character not acting through the story you are just adding a glorified human prop that will distract people from the plot. It's like adding a gilded 50ft statue of a monkey in the middle of your scene. Yeah, it's intresting...but it's distracting us from the movie. 

 

Note that I support the desire of this project, but even with the limitations given, it could have been vastly better. Maybe there will be a superior follow up.

I like Other M, it's really cool. I know a lot of you are thinking "What a surprise the guy that likes the current run of the Archie Comic likes Other M too." but here me out. I will say that there are two things I have a problem with, the first is how it started out with Sonic and Eggman, that could have been done MUCH better, like say how Sonic entered the Death Egg II in Sonic 224 - 225 and THEN be warped by Eggman as a grand plan or something. The 2nd Problem I have is the constant change of Artist throughout the Story, I know this is a fan story (or should we count this as Semi Canon now ) but some consistently in style would have REALLY helped the visual presentation, but a few of the issues have some bad artwork. As far as the story goes it's pretty damn good, it's got some flaws but holy shit this World and Story really is the opposite of SatAM/Archie Sonic. The Resistance has fewer victories and gets their ass handed to them, the Echidna's are masters supreme, and a shit load of other stuff that happens and how different the characters are handled. You really want to learn more about the Other Mobius and more about the characters (for me I would like to know more about the Other Sonic), sadly nothing is known about what would have happened had the series continued and for me THAT'S my biggest gripe, and with Ian being so busy the guy isn't talking either.  

I understand though, and it has been a long time since then too, I'm surprised that someone hasn't thought of continuing it in some way or form yet as I don't know if anyone has tried to do so. But for what we got it was good for it's time despite the inconsistent artwork and it surprisingly holds up pretty well after all this time. Granted I would have liked if we knew some of the characters fates and if a few more of them survived but hey if this was Ian's testing ground on what to do in stories then it shows that the guy holds a lot potential, now if only Sega could FINALLY let him breath and let loose! Overall I'd recommend it if you like AU stories and the Comic, if you can get past the constantly changing artwork you'll find a really good story, it's got it's flaws but it has a kick.

Also some people like to say that Ian can't write Fiona as a good guy and Sonic as nothing more then a "hip and cool guy" that never has any emotional moments or REAL character development (I'd disagree on all of that though). To those who check out Other M with that mind set BOY are YOU in for a surprise!

My last thought is that it would have been awesome to see what would have happened if both Mobius and Other Mobius met with Sonic smack dab in the middle, or Other Sonic in Mobius Prime. I'd love to see that happen one day.
