@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Okay guys, here comes a tough one.

The story for Sonic 06.

Ask a question, and we will give our best awnsers on how you could reconstruct it.

How would do write Sonic's relationship with she who must not named?

By replacing her with Sally, Major problem solved.

I second this motion. I really don't see how Sega could have been that stupid and blind to double up sells this way by pulling at the heart stings of us Satam fans.

Let's start with this revision. We oust Soleana and replace the bald-skin mcpastey-animeface with Sally and the Acorn Kingdom. How does that sound? How would the plot change in accordance to thus?

I would probably go the route which The Great Clement suggested in his seven-part review of the game; in which Sonic and Elise (yeah, I said her name) form a simple friendship which allows Elise to see the world in a more positive light, with no romance whatsoever.

The biggest problem I had with their relationship wasn't the interspecies thing (which, by the way, seems a bit hypocritical considering Sonally and such), but rather Sonic's attitude in the story. Throughout the entire series, Sonic was portrayed as an adventurous, free-spirited, daring hero; and was incredibly cocky, arrogant, and impulsive at times. Knowing him, a love-life is the last thing he would want. In '06, he's all mellow, toned-down, and boring. Basically a complete Prince Charming; something Sonic never was to begin with.

No way! They may be both princesses, but replacing Elise with Sally wouldn't cure everything.

For one thing, they're nothing alike. Sally's a headstrong strategist and a stern leader, while Elise is a tortured princess forced to smile and live in an artificial world to keep her curse from escaping. They have nothing in common aside from their royal lineage.

Well they are indeed both Mobian. It's more inter-ethnic than inter-species.

I agree so much on this. Sonic should even should have probably argued with the character alot. It would have been cooler for them to have butted heads due to personality diffrences and grow into friendship, realizing they have a lot in common and a common cuase... kind of like old Blue's relationship with a certain red-head.

Mobian or not, they're still considered separate species. I mean, if that wasn't the case, why not classify them all as "Mobian" instead of "hedgehog" or "fox" and such. And even though interspecies relationships are quite common in the franchise (Sonally, Antounne, Tailsmo, Shorteckno, ect.), the lovechild of certain couples are still born as either parents' species, so hybrids aren't that [if not, at all] common.

They may inherit certain traits from other species, but they're still classified as a specific species. For example, Nack/Fang is still considered a weasel, despite having some wolf lineage. And Sonia (Sonic and Sally's future daughter) inherited her father's eyes, cheeks, and speed, despite being born a chipmunk like her mother.

Mobians have some form genetic interconnectivity, in another words they are of the same "Kind". In a universe where obviously the rules of biology do not apply, should our biological definitions and ethics pertaining to such apply? An intresting question to overthink  ponder. My personal insight is this: if the relation can be fruitful and multiply it's fine with me. My problems with Elise span more beyond species diffrence, she is paper thin character wise and actually degrades Sonic's potential as character, forcing him to play the tired and pathetic cliche of the prince charming. Sonic is not that. Sonic is a snark, a wisecracking daredevil that follows his own unique moral intuition and insight. He is the ultimate free-spirit, being tied down to a codependant mamby-pamby is no different than amputating the poor hero's legs in mid-game. We need a better partering character. Sally would be the most marketable and sane choice for such. Besides the last thing Sonic needs in another character when it's failing to make us all care about the others with it's shallow writing. In a world filled with deeper characters like the ones in Mass Effect, Half-Life 2, ect and a maturing fan base, the wisest choice would be Sally, even if it was just at a platonic angle.

If you wanted to do that, best go with Amy and not introduce yet another character (but Amy really doesn't fit that role does she?).

I still stand by Ben's proposition as the most marketable and less convulting to the canon.

As for the other character's story arcs?

If done right its good

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

I think Silver deserves a second Chance

I would agree. It's no use to leave the character hanging. But let's give him some redemption. I give you the pen, rewrite what you see was wrong with him and/or his part in the story.

I didnt see much wrong with his story. He was willing to do anything to save his world, leading him to foolishly believe Mephiles. Once he learned the truth he attempted to make things right by helping Sonic prevent it. He does, helps revive Sonic, and defeats Solaris...

... except the game technically never happened so his story is considered "voided." Plus being '06 EVERYTHING was panned in it, including Silver

The only thing i would have changed was to make him faster and have his "glide" function last longer.

 So just game mechanics.

I would have shown more of the suffering of his home timestream and made it more personal. Showing a wreck of place is no where as powerul as showing his starving people, injured love ones, and a Walking Dead style crap-sack community.  And, I would have played him off Blaze with a slowly building friendship, despite diffrences, that comes to the edge of romance. Afterall, we need our characters to have something and someone to fight for, but even more so to live for after the fight.

My only problem with Silver is that he doesn't question Mephiles. I get that he's desperate because of the world he lives in, but that's stupid. I would be fine with it if Blaze was the one to question Mephiles' advice, but nope.

Other than that, he's a perfectly fine character. He just needs to be much faster.

Yeah, I don't know about you guys but a guy named Mephiles would warrant my suspicion. That relationship could use more complexity and doubt and that character could a lot more subtlty.

Babalyon Rogues. They only appeared in the Rider series. What would you do with them?

Make them a series of wildcard villans with their own agendas that actually conflict with Eggman's and Sonic intrests and ideaoliges.

I don't think I would complain. Just leaves more focus on other chracters that lack development.
