@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 10:10 PM)

Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

....I don't think it was supposed to be big.  I think it was just supposed to be "Closer to the screen".

As a kid, I recall thinking of how big it was, not that it was perspective. I think it was just supposed to give us the impression of the dangers in Sonic's world in the few seconds we had for the theme song. More symbolic than anything.

I love my God, my wife, my 5 kids, and I like my guns, my beer, my whiskey, and my pickup.

I dislike politicians, policemen, diet foods, no-smoking signs, and mowing the lawn.

I like Sonic games from the Genesis days, tolerate the Sonic Adventure series, can stomach Sonic Heroes, and can't stand the rest.

And there is only one true story of Sonic, SatAM.

what happened to the stone buildings in Mobotropolis. There seems to be very little marble/stone work left after the coup

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

Yes...he didn't get rid of the statues and architecture about the drop-off. How was all that repurposed and rearranged so swiftly?

I always figured the Destroyer demolished the buildings' structures and Robotnik simply built his refineries out of the remaining derbies of rubble. Since the sequence goes by rather quickly, I always saw it as time-lapsed; especially since the entire coup would've taken up most of the episode had they shown the whole event. I mean, there's only so much you can depict within 20 minutes of runtime.

Here is a new one.

Robotnik: How does one become that evil; that trusted; that prepared to commit such a sweeping conquest?

As far as I know, he and Snively were supposedly the last humans after some catastrophic event.  Thinking themselves superior to Mobians Robotnik just decided to take over.

Let's ride with that. But let's leave some doors open for imagination.

If a strange, and essentially space alien with glowing red eyes said he wants to help you conquer another people...would you let him live in your capital with your child (Sally)not do so?

Well, some have used the theory that the Retro Orbiting Chaos Converter from the original origin story for Sonic (which was used for the origin of the Fleetway series) may have been responsible for turning him evil as well.  However, there is no evidence of this in the cartoons since Blast to the Past only showed Robotnik just as he was beginning to plan the coup.  Still...it would explain much since Robotnik WAS trusted by King Acorn at first which would hint at the fact he was benevolent at some point.

Who says red represents something evil in mobian culture? Also remember Mobians respect all life, even alien.

I think Robotnik just threw his hands in the air one day and said "Fuck it, i'm taking over the planet"

That depends on your view on the language of the Mobians.

See if you view them just using English, then yeah those probably come off racist to Mobians, however if you believe them to be speaking their own language, then those phrases are just the closest we interpret them.

Here's a question that I thought I'd throw out there:

In the Sonic universe how would our animalesque sayings be taken, i.e. "crazy like a fox," "an elephant never forgets," "chicken," "meaner than a snake," "squirrely," "foxy lady," or even "The Hedgehog's Dilemma."

Since these are more or less based on stereotypes of said animals, I believe they would be taken as racist terms. Wot does everyone else think?

Well, there was Bunnie's infamous line from SatAM: "Nasty as a one-eyed snake, sugar."

If sayings like those are considered racist (or in this case, speciesist) amongst Mobian folk, that line of dialogue reveals a whole new side to Bunnie's personality that we've never seen before. Considering she was raised in the Southern Boundaries, I wouldn't be surprised.

Given the context of Bunnie's comment, in which she is affirming a negative characteristic of the wolf in the story, there's not really reason to spin it in a positive light.

There's also the matter of at least some animals on Mobius being non-sentient, such as the fish the Freedom Fighters eat.

They...they are non-sentient, right? :guiltysmiley:

Have you noticed in the episode Game Guy Sonic is able to control the power rings telekentically? He is disarmed and then able to retrive it from a distance akin to Marvel's Thor and his hammer Molinjir. Why is this so? And what does it implicate about Sonic and the rings that we don't see in other Sonic lore?

Because Sonic is Thor

And why he never uses that power again.
