Red said he couldnt get one

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

Dulcy... Why, why? And where did she come from? Why the hiatus from Blast to The Past to Season One? And what would you do with her?

She has more of an origin story in the Archie Comic rather then in the show, seriously they REALLY needed a backstory episode or one where she becomes a Freedom Fighter, if they did that and toned down the Maw shtick A LOT she wouldn't be as infamous as she is today. Seriously if they did the Maw thing maybe one time per episode I wouldn't mind but damn did they over do that. She is in the Archie Comic but she just kinda faded way after awhile and we get to see a cameo every once in awhile, you KNOW something is up when even Ian "Obscure Character Necromancer" Flynn doesn't even know what to do with her, and who can blame him really? I mean her design is okay but not as good as the other characters, in fact it's the weakest design in the series, though I do like the pouch. If she does show up in the Comic at all again in the New Prime Zone I hope she gets a new redesign that makes her look not only fitting in the Sega Sonic way, but better and sleeker as well. The way I would handle her is as a recurring character in the series that's trying to liberate her people and becomes good friends with the Freedom Fighters, and have her ditzy and clumsy personality down played more while at the same time being pretty sharp and the go to lady for mythos, as well as being very brave and quite fearsome. I'd have her designed much more differently, sleeker with a fantasy painting vibe while balancing it out in the Sega Style to make her fit in well. The closest character I can think of that could show how badass she could be is the Raptor in Netraptor's Sonic Fan Fiction. That character is AWESOME and maybe that's what Dulcy should have been all along, I don't mind some comedic moments for a character that should be a powerhouse and a badass considering what they are, but the way they did Dulcy was not the way to go.

Seriously, HOW THE HELL did nobody know that Robotnik was evil!? I mean just look at those red, glowing, hellish eyes, oh yeah I can completely trust that guy with my life! *sarcasm*

One cut out all the doatty comical crap and shift her arc towards that of a young Matron character. Dulcy isn't her real name (she can not tell them that). In fact it's an ironic nickname, because dulcy means "sweet" but she carries herself with an ancient bravado with ancestral insights and memories that gives her a gnostic appeal like Parthunax, being she is a mythical creature with mythic roots. She should carry herself with a matriarichal dignity (I mean they wanted more female characters, why not show off the best of womanhood instead of making her an incompetant ditz with only an overused one-liner?). Her character stuggles with being seperated from her kind, but has a deep love for the Freedom Fighters for their selfless intrests in saving her years ago from Robotnik. The Dragons have a shady past with the Mobians too, there has been conflict - war has been waged and blood has been spilt in the distant ages. However she is an off again on again member of the cast, becuase of her endevours to find her people, discover her origins, and that her presence can easily be detected by Robotnik if she stays with them too long (It's easy to spot a dragon and thus pinpoint Knothole due to frequent visits).

Any comedy from her should come from her intensity of purpose (Antione is scared pantsless because of her, and that's saying something because he doesn't wear pants).

Aw, I actually like Dulcy. But I will grant her lines were overused. But the first time she froze Robotnik was so funny (and again in his pajamas)!

Some kind of backstory to the Dragons would have been nice.

Thing is you could play Dulcy off as funny just like this, but still give her character the edge I have mentioned.

There will be one in EoT. I assure you guys.

But for now I want to hear your ideas. Dragons and their Origin? Shoot.

Well Dragons function pretty similar to Dragons of regular mythology.

As long as it claims to be a dragon, it's a dragon.

No really that's the rule of dragons.  Usually people try to give rhyme or reason to dragons, but the only requirement to be a dragon is that it claims to be a dragon.

You did well, Ben...this is a good question.

There background and purpose stems from  one of liberation from an imposed tyrrany and that invokes a sense nationalism and patriotism. Terrorist is military/paramilitarygroup that terrorize innocent civilians in the name of a political/fiscal/idealogical goal, but Freedom Fighters (like those in France during WW2 or the children in Red Dawn) are the exact opposite, militarized civilians battling against a colonial/imperial military power. Thought I think a clever writer could make it  to where others mispercieve them as such through Robotnik's propaganda and that cuases a conflict of identity and misunderstanding.

Maybe? I'm not too sure about that, to be honest he's WAY better in the comics, if anything Antoine is completely useless in SatAM. Perhaps they see something in him since he's been with them all this time, the guy doesn't even carry a sword in SatAM! I honestly don't know, though in that one episode where he tried to capture Robotnik had to be his best moment, granted it failed completely but really do those boots on Robotnik look like they can Hover to you? If Julian wasn't wearing his special boots that day he could have actually won, man would that be a twist or what! :roflmao:

I would have liked to see a more useful Antoine in the show, didn't really care for his comedic episodes except the one where Sonic stays with him, loved how he went batshit in the end. But yeah SatAM Antoine is Useless Antoine, Tails probably would have made a better choice but whatever, what do I know about Freedom Fighting anyway.

Nope.

In Season 1, Antoine managed to pull his weight a few times, but during Season 2 he seemed even more useless than before.  Depressing actually.

I don't see any problem with the name, in fact with all of the inflated flag-waving patriotism in the years since, I think the name would go over better than ever. The only issue I see is with their overall guerrilla tactics, which is exactly the same tactics that most terrorist organization use; and also an argument could be made for "one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter" point of view. Heck, in the Revolutionary War technically we fought using terrorist tactics; the Boston Tea Party? Also we didn't full abide by "The Rules of War" that mandated you march forward in plain site and let both sides shoot at each other. We learned from the Natives to hide behind trees and shoot, hit and run, and shock of all shock intentionally aim for the officers to cause the British to break ranks, which was just something you didn't do in polite warfare.

However, as The Red Stranger said, they are fighting for their lives against tyranny, sure, to Robotnik they are seen as ragtag terrorists, but in reality most anyone with an ethical bone would see their plight.

Antoine...do you think he was becoming useful by the end of the show? Why do you think they wanted him to tag along (when even Tails was seemingly more competant.

For the life of me I've never understood why they took such a liability with them on missions that required stealth, when he was anything but. Definitely in the last couple of episodes he became more of an asset with him saving Sally in Spyhog; even though it was miniscule, but his confidence did build. This caused him to start going for a more dangerous mission, which he unfortunately flubbed, but at least we got one of the funniest scenes in the show out of it: Antoine's interrogation at the hands of Snively: "Margarine!"

The only reason I can think they took him with them is because he was a palace guard and it was his sworn duty to protect the royals, (Sally), even though his obvious lack of training showed through. I mean, if you think about it, it seemed like it was a family duty pass down to him for generations; he was only a squire at the tender age of 5 to 7 when Robotnik attacked.

Though season 2 Antoine was indeed the most useless Antoine, he did get a bit more useful in the last few episodes of season 2. It is possible he was going to transform into plucky comic relief for season 3 (instead of being a complete nub as he was for most of season 2). That would have been a better role for him . . . Well-meaning but incompetent.

Yes, he has showed potential. I think the best route for Antoine is to make him the guy who really does have a sense of the danger of the scene (unlike Sonic who is a careless daredevil).  However he still presses on and fights. In the end Sonic is who we want to be and Antoine is the guy we would probably be in one these perilous situations. The dynamic is good and makes sure the stakes never gets stale or forgotten in the midst of action.

Think of Jakie Chan for a second and how he played off the kung-fu fighter through out his work. Unlike David Carideen or Bruce Lee Jakie showed vulrabilty (even comedicly) while playing characters like the aging Mr. Han and we could relate with him. If Antione was given more lease he could be thrice the character he started out as dramatically and comedically if you went the direction of  making him the hesitant and quirky hero.
