@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

Overall 256 was a nice little issue, and a decent conclusion to the soft reboot/retcon of the comic.

I agree with ya there, BW.

So yeah:

Read the new issue, it's pretty good.  The outcome between Sally vs Amy on getting the last revive was....well kinda cheap but expected.

I have to say though it does give me hope for the upcoming issues.

Heh, same here.  Now that we've gotten to band back togther, so to speak, we can get the -real- party started :guitar:

So, Ian has confirmed that Sonic Chronicles, Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Lost World has not happened in this Universe yet. Sonic Chronicles hasn't happened because of Penders and the fact that the game doesn't happen until later in the timeline; Sonic Unleashed is the comic adaption they're working up to; and Sonic Lost World is the game that will come later as well.

It better be better than their SA2 adaption.  It was such a let down.

So, in other words all or most of the up coming plot lines are now based on the games. :icon_sad:

Yuck.

Honestly I don't see how Game adaptions are a bad thing.  Also since he's been getting a lot of flack for the original ideas, changing up the pace might do some good.

Other than the length of the Mecha Sally arc, I actually thought his stories have been pretty good. This just stinks of Sega of Japan micromanaging the comic more and shoving their lame and two-dimensional game plots in the comic, which has done fine for 20 years, unlike the boring games SoJ makes year after year.

Don't get me wrong I've enjoyed Ian's run in the comic.  I haven't liked all his stories but I haven't hated anything either.

However even before the Mecha Sally Arc, long term comic fans have been badgering any story he wrote as being bad/uninspired/just shock value.

Also the only Sonic Game story that I didn't enjoy was Generations as I found the game in total rather lackluster.

Different strokes for different folks; I personally prefer seeing a brand new story than one that I already know the ending to and from the games, which are usually boring as hell to me story wise.

If Ian wants to keep his ass after all this shit, he needs to find some way to make the Zeti ACTUAL CHARACTERS. Not offensive stereotypes, actual characters with personality.

The Zeti have no hope becoming real characters.

If that's so, then Lost World just dropped off the favorite game list. It was number 1 too.

That was my biggest problem with that story. I loved the designs, but the personalities (save for Zazz) were non-existent. Hell, Zeena was borderline-sexist.

I found all the Zeti except the Main one (whatever his name is) were bad.

Zazz is annoying beyond all comprehension.

The Girl that "I'm so beautiful that's all I care about" stereotypes.

The Fat one IS offensive.

And Master is....well stereotypical sensei.

Oh, Zavok was pretty good too.

You forgot Mr. "Oh, life is so pointless, may as well give up now, I'm happy that I'm burning to death in lava."

Despite the shitty personalities, I do still like the Zeti, I just wish they were better written.

Its what you get for having the HTF writers...

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

That's what they should've done. Instead of just draining the earth's power, they kill people Saw-style.

Concerning the Zeti, while stereotypical, Ian did find some interesting hints in their dialogue that made them a bit more interesting.

Some examples include Zomom's gluttony stemming from his oppressive place as the runt of the group, Zavok feeling concerned for his respected master's condition, Zor showing signs of concern to his fellow Zeti when alerting them, and a few others.

A fan-theory of mine is that the Zeti are an endangered race of fabled creatures that live on the floating remains of what used to be their home-planet. When discovered, they were probably hunted down and driven to near extinction, and their fierceness became the stuff of legend. Thus each member of the Deadly Six suffers from a severe mental problem, due to their grim condition. Zazz became psychotic, Zomom became a glutton, Zor fell to deep depression, Zeena became vain to keep herself happy, and Zik passed his knowledge and plans for revenge to his apprentice, Zavok, who made it his life's ambition.

If that's the case, I feel extremely sad for them.

In my opinion, the Deadly Six aren't that much different from the Koopalings from "Super Mario Bros." Both groups have stereotypical members (including the token vain girl), but the more you look into them, the more interesting they become.

Brilliant, fucking brilliant, Logi, you have blown my mind to Venus. Someone, ANYONE, if you gotta write a good Sonic fan-fic, do this. I'd do it, but this theory is too damn good for me to fuck up.

No wonder I actually liked the MarioKart reveal.
