Concerning the Zeti, while stereotypical, Ian did find some interesting hints in their dialogue that made them a bit more interesting.
Some examples include Zomom's gluttony stemming from his oppressive place as the runt of the group, Zavok feeling concerned for his respected master's condition, Zor showing signs of concern to his fellow Zeti when alerting them, and a few others.
A fan-theory of mine is that the Zeti are an endangered race of fabled creatures that live on the floating remains of what used to be their home-planet. When discovered, they were probably hunted down and driven to near extinction, and their fierceness became the stuff of legend. Thus each member of the Deadly Six suffers from a severe mental problem, due to their grim condition. Zazz became psychotic, Zomom became a glutton, Zor fell to deep depression, Zeena became vain to keep herself happy, and Zik passed his knowledge and plans for revenge to his apprentice, Zavok, who made it his life's ambition.
If that's the case, I feel extremely sad for them.
