@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 11:25 AM)

Also I still have to figure out how to set up our e-mail accounts on the new host.

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 08:19 AM)

As soon as I figure out how to restore it. Sorry, I know I said it'd be done by now, but I didn't expect to have to put up with this DNS crap and other issues that popped up.

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

So when's the black theme coming back??

@  Uncle Ben : (24 July 2015 - 07:56 AM)

"Should"

@  furrykef : (24 July 2015 - 07:27 AM)

That DNS took longer to propagate properly than I thought it would. *Now* we should be back for good, though.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:48 PM)

Or it might be because Bluehost *finally* got around to that server wipe (one week after we'd asked for it) and that wiped out our DNS settings. I'm not sure which and I don't really care. In any case, we've severed our last ties with Bluehost, so this will not happen again.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 08:08 PM)

Looks like Bluehost yanked our DNS since our hosting account expired. That's why the site went down a while ago. But as you can see, it's fixed now.

@  Misk : (23 July 2015 - 04:55 PM)

No, they do not.

@  furrykef : (23 July 2015 - 04:27 AM)

The goggles do nothing?

@  Misk : (22 July 2015 - 05:50 PM)

My eyes.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 12:24 PM)

Looks like forum uploads might have been broken since last night. That should be fixed now too.

@  furrykef : (22 July 2015 - 01:33 AM)

Heh, whoops! Server went down for a few mins when I borked the config. Looks like it's back up now.

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 09:09 PM)

It looked like a napkin

@  ILOVEVHS : (21 July 2015 - 09:04 PM)

Fan-fuckin-tastic.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:25 PM)

As for the beaver picture while the forum was down, I think Tim drew it. On a napkin.

@  furrykef : (21 July 2015 - 08:24 PM)

No kiddin' about that "Finally!", Shadow. I am *so mad* at Bluehost for never responding to our support ticket. I submitted it early Friday morning and they *still* haven't answered it!

@  Uncle Ben : (21 July 2015 - 06:37 PM)

Maybe he did that himself

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:25 PM)

Say, who made the cute picture of Beaver Chief?

@  Shadow : (21 July 2015 - 05:24 PM)

Finally!

@  RedMenace : (21 July 2015 - 05:02 PM)

Woooo! The site's back up! Three cheers for Kef!

One problem i have with this new universe is that some of the fans are telling people like me to "deal with the changes" in a rather rudely way and saying its "improved" even though i disagree

Some say that he knows 2 facts about ducks, and both of them are wrong. And that 61 years ago he accidentally introduced Her Majesty The Queen to a Greek racialist. All we know is, I'm going to the tower now to have my head cut off, and he is called The Stig.

That I can agree on, it has changed but not necessarily improved.

That's one problem I'm having as well concerning this mess; it's like: "If you don't like what's going on, or are a fan of the American Sonic Universe you can't voice your opinion." As if the Sega Sonic fans want to censure dissenting opinions. However, the more I get this static from them the more ardent I become in voicing my opinion. We all have the right to voice our displeasure no matter what side we are on, or at least the last I checked that right was covered by The First Amendment.

I believe that is a universal right. My only caveat is nobody gives a reason for their opinions anymore. They just assert and assume straw-man style... They just accuse and object.

It is a universal right to say anything you want, but it's also a universal right to ignore and/or make a counter argument. If you can't come up with a counter and just tell someone to "shut up," attack or try to silence him/her then it shows one of two things: 1. Your position is very weak, or 2. the other person is better at debating.

Plus rudely telling someone to deal with it doesnt fly with me either

Agreed, but you could also argue that constantly complaining about everything you don't like is also rude.  People have the right to enjoy the new universe as much as people have the right to not like it.  While I agree they shouldn't be telling you to deal with it, you at the same time shouldn't be ruining it for them.

The problem comes to finding a perfect balance where expressing your opinions doesn't come off as whining, which is nigh impossible so.....

I'm not disagreeing with that.  But you have to think on both sides of the issue, it is rude to tell someone to just deal with the changes, but at the same time complaining about how you don't like the changes ruins it for those who like the change, and that's rude too.

There is no "in the right" side on this issue.  Your best bet is just to not let them get to you, on both sides.

I just got to read 255 and I have to say it was better than I thought; despite the retcon or her robotic origins Bunny still felt like the Bunny I knew and I really like the way she is drawn; of course it was also nice to see Bunny kick some butt after the long lull and to see one of my favourite characters from Sonic return.

I'm really looking forward to 256, which is apparently supposed to be out on January 1st. With Robotnik ordering Sally's death and Sonic heading to her I expect to see a pretty epic clash. The only thing that I suspect happening is that I believe that Amy will somehow get the last jolt of memories from NICHOLE, just for the reason that Sega doesn't want Sonic to have a relationship and it would keep Sally from experiencing the harsh memories of being Robotnik's tool. However, if they do happen to let Sally get it, it would add a lot of dramatics to the story, which is what I hope. Of course, I am also expecting one more face palming and groan inducing "twist" from Archie as well.

Anyway, fingers crossed and saying a Hail Mary in hoping that Sally's return turns out to be a good one that makes up for the three years of hell. Depending on how this turns out I might start purchasing the comic, if not, well we always have Sea3on and our stories, which have been more fun to read anyway.

Well I'm glad Bytor's happy with this. That gives me some hope...thought I agree with him. I think a lot of you guys have had moments that have outshined the originals. For one I think Red does way better than Boller's and Pender's in his handling of Sonsal and the possible diffifculties of that relationship, and his minor characters have more depth. And I think over time Ben's work has improved and he's willing to take narrative risks that have weight on the characters, so that's promising. One thing I like about Bytor's work is that he really takes the gloves off and gives us a very powerful, fast-paced piece that you wouldn't ever get to see in an All Ages Comic (without being needlessly gorey).

To be fair though, not all my minor characters will get all their stories revealed. It is a lot of backstory.

But that by no means takes away from the depth you have given those characters. I genuinely believe you"ve done well with the ones you have taken the time to focus on.

That that is what I am worried about, that Sally will not get her memories back just to keep her and Sonic apart(which would just be something Sega and Archie would do, I don't trust them). I want her to get her memories back, even if some of those are painful.
