A clue...the sure-fire awnser is no sure awnser.
Is the fact that you misspelled "answer" twice important for the clue?

I thought I would chime in. Personally, there are quite a few directions I could go with Bunny's robotization, but I think what Stranger is referring to is that sometimes showing your audience what happened is the worst thing possible an author can do. Leave it a mystery, even to the one that it happened to. Each individual has their own personal fears and no matter how gory he/she gets it won't affect everyone in the way intended; there's a fine balance between horrific and disgusting, so why not just leave it up to each reader what happened; they'll surely think of something to horrify themselves. At the same time this amnesia creates an enigma, which in and of itself is powerful to the human psyche; we want to know what happened and the more we can't see the more we want to see it, so we'll give it great power beyond anything the author could do.
Also, at the same time this also doesn't give anything to one camp or take away from another; each fandom can believe it the way they want.
Personally, I think all that Ian was trying to do was show another disparity between the two timelines, but after Bunny took hold of NICHOLE she knew what it felt like to have herself forcibly turned into a half-machine by Robotnik and how it felt to live with it. And if anyone remembers this Robotnik is from the old timeline and only remembers the old timeline, so he is guilty of everything he did in the old timeline. However, I believe that this should have been one point Ian Flynn had left ambiguous.

Now that I think it: is Robotnik starting to remember details from the new timeline, like Sonic?
And was he replaced in this new timeline? I mean, did the new timeline have an equivalent to Endgame and Robo-Robotnik?

If anything, it's possible that this new reality existed as its own separate reality, far removed from Mobius Prime. And when the universe was altered by Eggman's interference, Sonic Prime's consciousness was channeled into this alternate Sonic's body. And to regain what he lost, he "reunites" with the alternate dopplegangers of his former comrades and channels their consciouses into their minds. But how long will it last? Sonic's memories of his former universe are slowly disappearing. Soon, the mind of his alternate counterpart's husk will consume him and he'll be Sonic Prime no more.
Scary, huh?
Mutant X anyone (the comic, of course)?
I don't think this is the case though. I think that history has just been rewritten. What I don't really understand is that, seemingly, the Genesis Waves didn't happen in this reality.
Oh, and btw, if Sonic's memories are disappearing, will the other FF's disappear too?

From what I've read so far, it seems this rebooted world was a completely different universe than the previous one.
"Yeah, duh! We already know that."
Alright, but let me explain:
There's already an established history to this world (Robotnik's coup, the battle with Chaos and the Black Arms, Antoine and Bunnie's marriage, ect); each one slightly/completely different than the previous continuity before it. And when Sonic returns from "Worlds Collide" and regains consciousness, Tails says that he was knocked out for a brief second while attacking the Tails Doll. If that's the case, who was the Sonic that came before him?

Now pepper that with a bit of this...http://www.youtube.c...e&v=MvSVHEQx1wQ
And you will see why I despise AU's. Each choice cuases a split in fractor. Sure you saved The Prime Zone, but now there is just a split where you didn't. Either way millions are dead....either way millions are roboticized...either way there is one universe where you killed the millions. Each action is made useless and sucked in a see of despair, no action has worth and it's changing effect is buried in chaotic tragedy.

So pretty much someone would turn into this guy right? http://www.youtube.c...h?v=_o9IMJAcbjs
That is quite a disturbing thought process on AUs, which can really be taken both in a positive and negative light, the choice is simply ours on how we think of them.

Exactly! Owlman the world's greatest emobiement of Nihilism...It is the only purposeful action. *Boom.*
I actually have a villan like this.
But what does that choice matter? It's a meaningless choice. If you have a giant infinte gambit of AU's splitting about every choice and change, then no choice Sonic makes has meaning. Only Eggman or a great villan can only make the most meaningful and purposeful action in the series...omnicide.
This is why I don't do AU's....

Characters like that are the most frightening. They have no real greater purpose other than creating "perfect desolation" or having ultimate power as an end to itself.
It reminds me of the scene where the 4th Doctor was talking to Davros and asked him if he would be happy if the Daleks were a super virus that would eradicate all like in the universe. And Davros replied that he would love having a capsule with that kind of power in his hand and he could destroy all life, including his own, by pinching it between his thumb and finger. I can't fathom why someone would want that to happen, but I know there are people out there. A truly Pyrrhic victory in the extreme.

Genisis of The Daleks...that is my favorite classic episode.
