[Uncle Ben]

• -The Freedom Fighter Redesign section states that Sally has a "secret weapon" in her gloves. (Assassin's hidden blade )
• -They explicitly point out that Rotor has traded in his gut for some pecs and that he is a "battle mechanic" (Ehh)
• -Nicole's lynx form is now supported by a ring as a temporary battery. (Interesting.... does that mean ANYONE can use rings now)
• -Bunnie has her old arsenal, but it may or may not run off her life force (That could be problematic)
• -Antione wore the old uniform at some point but switched it for his new attire because it's the new standard for soldiers of the Acorn Kingdom. Also his hair is natural. (Interesting)
• -Freedom HQ doesn't exist anymore. The Sky Patrol has taken its place. (i liked HQ...)
• -The Egg Army are a group of cyberized Egg soldiers that answer to the Egg Boss. When back up is needed they call in the Badnik horde that is commanded by one super badnik. (So its the Dark Egg Legion... but with a differetn name)
• -Black Death, a new villian, was created by Black Doom to finish harvesting worlds. He is there last leader. (Hmmmmmm....
• -Eclipse the Darkling, a new villian that will be introduced in the "Shadow Fall" arc, was created to counter Shadow in every way and a unique version of Black Arms. He may be connected to something called the Dark Arms. (interesting)

I can guess what the future will be for the Sonic comics... somewhat. I think we are gonna get a deeper look at the new Mobius, while getting to see what our favorite characters are doing in the meantime. For example: seeing Shadow, Rogue, Omega, Blaze,and Marine again, as well as the freedom fighters.

It's not the character or the fans' fault for bad writing of the character; "the slap" or trying to kill her wasn't them trying something new with the character; it was to accommodate Sega's edicts, and they didn't do a good job of it. The whole Mecha Sally thing was way too long and if you would have done it to any other main character, say Amy or Tails, that is if Sega would let it happen in the first place (NOT!) you'd see the same outcry from their fans as well.

Except One:  This is the second time it happened to Sally and Two:  Sonic AND Knuckles both had it happen to them and it was well received.  Yes it didn't last as long (only covering one issue and a special issue) but still.  

 

Also You're accusing SEGA of just randomly trying to ruin Sally's character.  SEGA isn't trying to remove the characters from the comic otherwise it would have already been done.  If SEGA has the control we all believe it has over Archie's decisions making, they would have simply cut them out like the Penders Cast.

 

 

 

We're just tired of them screwing the character over for three years, and you would be too if it happened to a character you liked.

1) Sally is my all time favorite Sonic characters (Game Universe or Otherwise).  I get it.  I'm not happy with it too.

2) It's all we've talked about for the last three years.  As much as I don't like their choices with Sally, I don't really want to focus on them anymore and would like to look at the other aspects.  We have about 4 threads that basically come down to "We don't like Archie's new direction with Sally."  Just look at the other stuff for a bit.

3) You're totally right because I complain about how Peter Parker got shafted in the Superior Spider-Man Comics.  And before that it was Scott Summers.  I'm just really tired of hearing about people complain about Sally when we haven't seen the trouble yet.  WHEN it happens, go nuts, but until it happens, let's look at the other stuff shall we?

 

 

 I have no problem with bad things happening to Sally, but they need to do it right and that means not taking the character away for three years.

 

I completely agree.  But the fan base in general complains everytime something happens to Sally that doesn't seem to be beneficial to her.

Sounds like they've created a character to play the "Dark Shadow" path.

Again, with Knuckles that barely took a few issues instead of three years and Knuckles was not under Robotnik's control, so he was still the character.

1. It's widely known that at the time of issue 50 Sega had a lot of restrictions on his relationship with Sally and Penders thought it would just be easier to write her out. However, both the editor and Sega of that era, (yes I'm giving credit to Sega for doing something right), knew that would backfire and made him keep her in there.

 

2. With "the slap" it was the same scenario, but this time it was Bollers trying something a bit less drastic. However, when you think about the Sally character there are basically three main aspects when she was created: 1. She is the ruler of her people, 2. She is the leader of the Freedom Fighters, 3. She is Sonic's girlfriend. 1 and 2 were basically nullified with Robotnik's defeat and her Father returning, and then 3 was gone with her split with Sonic. So, I ask: what is left for the character? Instead of trying to, I dunno, develop the character further they just left her to rot with what was left after more or less gutting her. It really wasn't until Ian Flynn took over that she started to move forward again. The Mecha Sally arc was good, but only problem is that he went far too long; you can blame Penders all you want, but that arc should have gone one year maybe one and a half at the very most, and I will say it was a definite flub by Ian Flynn and if it happened that Ian took away any other beloved character for three years that character's fans would act the same way.

I'm not blaming Sega, for ruining the characters and I have never said that they are trying to remove them, but they don't care as much for them as they do the game cast and thus Archie can basically do whatever they want to them. Yes, Sega does have their mandates and are partially to blame, but in the end it was bad writing that has done more damage. With Sega's treating the Freedom Fighters as foster children and Archie's willingness to do whatever they want to them it does come off as a little unbalanced when almost NOTHING bad happens to a game character and if it does it's not even close to the scale of what happened to Sally and will only last for about one issue. I'd really like to see an arc like Mecha Sally happen to a game character; then everyone can see it for what it is, but we know it will never happen. That being said, Archie knows that the Freedom Fighters are a main draw to the comic and that their removal would cause catastrophic losses. Truthfully, I believe Sega could care less about them, just as long as they get their cheque at the end of the month from Archie and as long as they take care of their game characters they're fine with whatever happens to the SatAM cast.

 

While the Sally fans do need to tone it down, others should allow them their right to voice their opinions and/or concerns about the direction of the comic and Sega/Archie's abuse of them. Like I was unaware of your fanhood of Sally you also mistakenly flew into Ben and myself for stating in less than a few words our concern of news. I could understand it if we went on ad nausium, and perhaps it seems that way if you add everything up, but we still all have the right to voice our concerns. And as long as no one is getting hurt, if you don't like what is being said, don't read it.

It's that time again guys! Time for Spoilers! Here are spoilers for issue 255!:

Countdown to Chaos Part 3: The Rabbot

We start with Sonic and Tails flying into Metropolis Zone talking with NICOLE about if Bunnie has contacted them yet. Since she has not, they assume that she’s been captured and, leaving T-Pup in charge of the Tornado, jump down into the action. They run through the Egg Army goons and into the Command Tower, Sonic noting it’s harder to keep the two timelines separated in his head. Upon reaching the top, they encounter the disguised Bunnie, and a Goon with “Tassels”. They are locked in, as Sonic makes fun of Tassel Boy, making a “You Want Fries” with that joke. With an order to attack Bunnie gives him a left uppercut to the gut, knocking him out as he states he knew there was a spy in the ranks. Bunnie goes to the comm, and using the name Scarlett, tells the rest of the army to NOT open the door. She turns to the duo, and takes of her helmet as the text box states “Bunnie D’Coolette The Rabbot”. As they have their reunion, they talk about what’s going on with the others, why Bunnie didn’t communicate for a while, and how they can help her complete her mission of taking a shield generator meant for the Death Egg. As they work out a plan, Sonic and Tails react to Bunnie’s robot parts like they’re in the original universe before remembering that she was made that way when Robotnik first attacked, and it was Uncle Chuck that did it to save her life. They decide that restoring Bunnie’s memory should wait until they’re not in enemy territory. Bunnie wants to know what the two are whispering about, but before any excuse can be given the army wants in. Bunnie gives an excuse as they tell her they are coming in anyway. Meanwhile in Artika, Eggman arrives and gives his regional boss Tundra the Walrus, a test. As Tundra has his transport ready, he passes and Eggman tells him to get back to work. On the way back to the Death Egg Eggman talks with Orbot and Cubot about how the two sets of memories are becoming apparent. Eggman also makes it clear that this isn’t his concern right now, the readings he picked up in Efryka are, and that it may already be too late. Back in Metropolis the Egg Army is using a Shellcracker to open the door, when a surprise call from Tassel Boy tells them to go after Sonic, who is heading to the Shield Generator. Sure enough Bunnie and Sonic are blasting their way through Astarons, on their way there. Bunnie hijacks the Shellcrackers claw after Sonic blasts it, and rams it into some goons. They reach the big door shaped like a gear, as the Egg Army nears, with tanks and Slicers. The door behind them opens, as we cut back to the Command Center where Tails is at the controls, while NICOLE imitates Tassel Boy. Then an Earth Quake happens, as Tails evacuates the falling tower with NICOLE, carrying Tassel Boy to safety. Bunnie Mag-Locks the generator, as Sonic looks for a safe route out. Lucky for them a hole blasts in the ceiling and they fly out safely. Sonic remembers his escape from Metropolis in Genesis, as he plays it off in front of Bunnie as the earthquake in Wood Zone he’s remembering. He brings up the theory that Eggman is behind it, but Bunnie says that it’s also been happening to his own troops. Sonic briefly considers that Eggman wouldn’t be crazy enough to do that, but after a quick flash to the ending of Worlds Collide, he reconsiders. As they head back to the Sky Patrol, Tassel Boy wakes up in time to hear the Clean-Up procedure order. Aboard the Sky Patrol, they encounter Ant, who has finished his escort mission, and is now wearing his wedding ring. He’s romantic for a bit before Bunnie wants to know what they were whispering about. Ant explains he is also here to help Bunnie through this, and Sonic wholeheartedly agrees. Tails heads off and Ant gives NICOLE to Bunnie. Her memories return, flashes of being Sally’s hair dresser, her wedding, being turned back to normal, and Antione in his coma. She hugs Ant, and her wedding ring has magically returned. There are no words on this page. Sonic checks on NICOLE, and it seems it’s down to restoring Amy or Sally. Sonic reassures that the bridge will be crossed when they get to it, and has a brief thought balloon reassuring Amy that they’ll find her once they’re all together. On the Death Egg, Eggman has switched into a fresh outfit, and it seems that Sally has escaped prior to his arrival, but not before a camera snapped her picture. Eggman orders them to track the pod and send Metal Sonic.
